Rated 4 out of 5 by from Size Changes I ordered two of these shirts recently. One blue and one cloudburst. After reading the disappointed folks complaining about the size changes, I was somewhat wary. The blue one shipped immediately and I do notice that the sleeves are cut much narrower than a traditional fit. I can wear it but I'm not too happy with the fit. I don't have especially large arms, so I can understand how it wouldn't fit other guys. At the time I ordered the shirts, the cloudburst one was backordered. I just received it and I'm happy to report that it is cut at least an inch larger in the arms and is much more comfortable although both shirts are called "regular fit." I'm hoping that JCPenneys is responding to the complaints and is making the cut a little larger from now on. These are the first shirts of this kind I've purchased from JCP, so I can't comment on the comparison of the "regular fit" of the cloudburst one and the old "classic fit."

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New tight - regular fir Stafford Shirts - too small I tired again to go to a Penney's Store - this one was in Indianapolis. My local store just carried the fitted Stafford Shirt oxford button down as they only had about 1 or two regular fit. Well, the Indy store did not have any regular fit even close to my size. The clerk said Penney is going for the younger men who want fitted shirts. So I guess Penney no longer wants older guys who don't have a pencil shaped skinny body. Penney has made even the regular fit shirts so darn tight in the shoulders/chest and arms that they are uncomfortable. And it is not I have gained weight as my old 16.5 34/35 shirts fit perfect.. So, I will no longer shop any longer at JCPenney now that I gave up on the Stafford shirts. it is a shame, the Stafford Shirt used to be the best anyplace. Now that they are making MEN'S shirts to fit little kids, I can no longer wear them and will look elsewhere for shirts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Are athletes soft in the middle now? I purchased two of these shirts--a white and a robin's egg blue--for a few reasons: I prefer oxford shirts, the price was attractive, I've been happy with Stafford products in the past, and the shirt came in an athletic fit. I'm 6'0" and slim, so in order for me to have a nice fit on a dress shirt, I either have to have them tailored--which I don't mind--or buy slim/fitted/athletic fit shirts. I prefer the latter, as I like to avoid spending time and money on tailoring if I can help it. I got the shirts today and whas ironing them out thinking that something wasn't quite right, so I got out a tape measure and measured different parts of the shirt. For a 15.5" neck and 34/35 sleeve, the yoke of the shirt (across the back of the shoulders) was 19" and the waist area measured 40". What that means is that, instead of the shirt getting slimmer from the shoulders down, it is nearly a box-cut, and even gets a little wider. So, I'm wondering what kind of athletes Stafford used as their model when designing this shirt, because now I have to go and get these shirts tailored anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What have you done to this shirt? By reading some of the other reviews, I can confirm I obviously didn't receive an irregular shirt. This shirt was my "go to" shirt for work. Not anymore. I purchased a few from my local store to replace some older ones. The shirts I purchased just a few months ago are completely different than the shirts now in your stores. The sleeves are very tight, its tight across the back of the shoulders, and chest. At first I thought I purchased a fitted shirt, but that wasn't the case. I thought, I put on a little weight, maybe I need to go up in neck size. So I purchased a half inch larger neck size. I tried it on and its loose around my neck, but its still tight in the sleeves and across the back. The fit of this shirt is complete garbage. Unfortunately, this shirt was the last item I regularly purchase from JCP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent shirt, but not wrinkle free. This shirt is definitely not wrinkle free. I washed it and dried it according to the instructions and the wrinkles are still there. The sizing options for the neck and chest are OK, but if you are slim there's going to be too much extra material at the waist even with the fitted shirt. I have a 36 inch chest, 14.5 inch neck, and 30 inch waist so I ordered the 14.5 inch neck fitted shirt. It's still too baggy at the waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect classic fit! Not everyone has a slim fit body. I am so happy that JCP/Stafford still offers a good classic fit that won't break the bank. I ordered a couple of these shirts & will definitely be purchasing much more in the future. Also, by the material of these shirts, it really does seem like they would last a very long time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They changed the cut, try one on before you buy! For the last 10 years I have purchased the Stafford Oxford Dress Shirts and have been happy with the fit, quality and price. So I placed my annual shirt order online for the sizes and colors that I always choose. The shirts arrive at the local store and I am notified that they are ready to be picked up. I pick them up, take them home and wash them with the old shirts. Monday morning comes and I pick out a nice new shirt to wear. I put one on and something isn't right. The sleeves and the armpits are tight but the body and neck are fine. I wore it to work and talk about be uncomfortable! I couldn't wait to get home and peel off the shirt. I now have 4 shirts that don't fit and I can't return because I washed them. The worst part it that I have to take the time to find shirts that fit the way that I like and most likely it won't be a JCP shirt. What a pain!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shirt - but sizes have changed I have worn the same size shirt for decades, and have bought a number of these shirts in the past, and they all fit the same. This time, I bought four at once, and are all different sized than previous shirts. They are tighter in the shoulders/chest, the sleeves are shorter, and the torso is a bit slimmer. The quality appears to be the same as before, and is very good. I like the shirt, but the downsizing is not great. This is probably an attempt to conserve material in a depressed economy, but the result is unfortunate. I would only recommend these shirts with the caveat to order a little big.
