Rated 1 out of 5 by from no longer fit My mistake, I went to a Penny store nearby to get the dress shirts I have been wearing for decades and of course they only had one since inventories appear to be disappearing lately (not due to sales). I spoke with a clerk and I commented about the inventory and she offered to tell me that they also changed the sleeve cut and that it was a 'tailored' fit. I bought the one shirt then went back to work and ordered several more on line. When I got them I was very disappointed to find out that the tailored sleeve really meant that the shirst are impossible to move in. My forearms were literally wrapped tight by the sleeve. They are very uncomforatable and my forearms are not big by any means. I'll need to return all the shirts and find a new source going forward. Pennys has been a huge disappointment in last couple years and I can't afford to buy what I thought would be a consistent product only to find they change things up in a bad way. Do not but stafford shirts!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THE Forearm are way way to tight, Do not Buy How often do you shop at JC Penney? I shop a JCP for all my dress clothes, but not any longer!!! Big mistake, I order a couple shirts 6 months ago and thought I just got a bad lot. Now I know that are all bad. I order 10 Shirts 5 white and 5 Blue. When I got them I was very disappointed to find out that even in a non tailored Shirt the sleeve are impossible to move in. My forearms were literally strangled by the sleeve. They are very uncomfortable and my forearms are not big by any means. I will return them and not Shop at JCP any longer. To bad I have the been a loyal customer for 30 years. I complete agree with this statement from another reviewer: "I'll need to return all the shirts and find a new source going forward. Penny's has been a huge disappointment in last couple years and I can't afford to buy what I thought would be a consistent product only to find they change things up in a bad way. Do not buy Stafford shirts!"

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CAVEAT EMPTOR: NEW CUT! OH NO! For years I've ordered this shirt in my usual size with the athletic fit. It was hands down the best shirt on the market for the money. However, the cut has now significantly changed. Stafford now offers both "fitted" and "athletic" cuts, and both of them are far tighter across the shoulders, under the armpits, and through the sleeves than the old "athletic" fit used to be. So tight that I couldn't even raise my arms above my head. I'm all for a slender fitting shirt through the torso for an athletic frame, but these news shirts get it totally wrong through the shoulder girdle. Unwearably wrong. All of them are going back to the store, and I'm distraught that I now have to find a new "go to" athletic-fit wrinkle-free dress shirt. The material looks to be the same high quality fabric they used in the past, so hopefully stafford will consider reconfiguring their fit in the future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same fit I ordered the Stafford Executive Pinpoint Oxford in a 17 32/33 it fits beautifully. I ordered this Travel Performance in the same size and the neck is the same but the shoulders and arms are tight...I ordered both in regular fit. Why don't all Stafford shirts follow the same measurements? If I order an 18 in this shirt it will be too big in the neck. I'm very disappointed in the fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A well-tailored addition to my wardrobe Following a recent work reassignment requiring business dress on a daily basis, I rapidly became aware that it was time to purchase new dress shirts. After checking out various offerings online, I clicked on an ad for the Stafford brand, having worn it in the past. I ended up purchasing multiple shirts, largely due to the clear pictures on the Penneys website, permitting me to see the obvious attention to detail in tailoring. In addition, I liked the availability of sizes (I'm a big/tall customer) and the overall color/style palette, although yellow was strangely not a color choice. Despite selecting standard shipping, the shirts arrived more quickly than estimated; they were exactly as advertised. The shirts fit very well around the neck and shoulders, the shirt tails are properly long (allowing me to move around in them without fear), the sleeve length is exactly what I want, and I've noticed no shrinking or fading in the wash. I'm very happy with my purchase!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Here We Go Again! This is the second time this has happened to me recently. I bought two dress shirts in the same size I have bought for years. Tried them on and their were skin tight? I thought I may have ordered the wrong shirts so I returned them and ordered online again. Received the next set of shirts with the same results; skin tight, no room in chest or arms. These shirts are not even close to the advertised size. They are portrayed as big/tall but all seem to be athletic cut or tighter? Another note: It seems once again that the Big & Tall department in JCP stores is shrinking to little or few choices. I don't know if this is just in my area or nation-wide? I have bought dress shirt from JCP for over twenty-five years but growing tired of the increasing numbers of problems with their Big & Tall department (in-store and online).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same name different product I have been happily wearing Stafford Dress Shirts for many years. However,my recent purchases of Stafford Performance Dress shirts have fallen far short of the excellent quality previously delivered. These new shirts are cut smaller than previous sizing which may be do to the poor workmanship in assembling the pieces together. I The cut for each shirt was different. The symmetry of each side of the shirt was inconsistent. One shirt even had been so poorly stitched together that I could not put it on. I was only able to get either the right or left hand in a sleeve on. And then there is the loss of quality in the fabric being used. After one to four washings, the collars developed brown coloration at the tips making the shirts unfit to wear. This wonderful shirt has gone from lasting years to a disposable item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Size not true I have been wearing these shirts for a few years. I alway order the button down collar, size 18 neck, 36 sleeve, regular fit. They have always fit very nice. This time I ordered 5 new shirts, same exact sizes. When I tried them on they didn't fit, they were way too tight and the shoulders were cut different. When I layed a new shirt on top of one my older shirts I could see the problem. Even though it was the same exact size, the new shirts were cut almost 2 inches narrower than the old shirts, and the shoulders were completely different. Very frustrating that you cannot even keep the same size from year to year. Also, my old shirts are at least a year old, have been laundered many times and probably have shrunk a bit. You would think the new shirts might even be a bit bigger becasue of this, but no. Your own sizing chart says the 18/36 regular fit has a chest size of 50, completely false.

Does anyone know if, in this iteration, the regular version still has the same tight arms and shoulders fit, as the last fiasco?

I have not been able to wear (my previously favorite) Performance Pinpoint Oxford shirts, since somebody got the brilliant idea, that it would be a good idea to make them fit preteen little girls. No room for biceps or shoulders.

I spend 6 days a week in dress shirts, and used to be able to buy this shirt. Then some bad decision maker made these shirts to fit only little teen kids, no longer big & tall, they were for skinny little kids. I no longer purchase their shirts, since they forgot who these fit.

Is this the shirt with the top collar button that stretches for more comfort? (I laughed that my nick name was too short)

Asked by: Joe1
Yes. My husband has to wear a 20 in the neck and it does give him some extra room to wear comfortably with ties.

For the St afford Pinpoint Oxford Dress shirt [- what is the proportion of cotton and polyester?

I have a stafford oxford white shirt that is 60% cotton and 40 % polyester and I love it. Is this the same?
