by ATLshopper Definite Change in Fit, crotch/butt crunch... (size 38+)
I agree completely with Hard2Fit's previous review from June 18, 2015! I've added pics to help others who feel the difference and NEED the original Cool 18's (solid blue line trim, no lettering on inside waist trim)!
I love Haggar Cool 18's, except for this new change in their pattern cuts for the groan/butt area, there is much less material/room in this area!!!
I too have been wearing the Cool 18's with the black and blue solid lined inside waist trim for over a year now (photo), and have more than 8 pants in black and brown. These fit PERFECT!!
The new Cool 18's with the white lettering and white and blue striped line for the inside trim (photo) are a CRUNCH in the crotch/butt!! Not sure if this is as bad for the smaller waist sizes, but it's a significant change that's both visually notable and physically felt without a doubt, very uncomfortable!! Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this change!! The waist however fits good, the same as the original style.
I will be returning the 3 pair I just purchased last night as they are this new cut/fit. I hope these reviews can help others like me to avoid wasting their time and money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SteveD53 Great slacks!
Purchased two pair of these comfort slacks and I am very pleased with the quality, fit and comfort of them. Probably the most comfortable dress slacks I've ever owned. Will definitely buy more.

After doing a lot of research and trying on various dress pants at JCP, I decided that the Haggar Cool 18 was the best looking and most versatile dress pant to choose from. I ordered 5 pairs in 38x32. Upon receiving them I noticed a few minor things: First, they weren't all exactly the same pant. Some had older tags and a different-looking waist lining. To be expected I guess? Nit picky, but I also don't think that they fit differently due to this. I also found that the inseam was slightly different in all 5 pairs. All a little too long. I ended up getting them hemmed at a local tailor, but I would suggest that if you typically wear a 32 inseam, go for the 31's on here and you'll probably be fine. All in all, a very comfortable and lightweight pant with a forgiving waist. They look good with a sport coat or a polo at the golf course. So far, so good and I would recommend these to anyone looking for a great dress pant at a good value. Just beware that you might need them hemmed like I did.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Andyc Front pockets much too shallow.
Front pockets on both pants and shorts too shallow. Items placed in these pockets easily fall out, e.g., coins, keys, cell phone, etc. They
are also too baggy in thigh portion of the legs and seat area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hard2Fit BEWARE of size changes!!!!
My husband has a hard time finding comfortable pants. He has been wearing his Cool 18s in black and navy to work for years and I have always been able to purchase replacements when when needed.....until now. The seat/crotch area is now uncomfortable for him and now have to find another brand/style. No, it is not HIS size that changed, but the manufacturing cuts. He tried on one color in a local store, perfect fit...same as the ones at home; tried another color and it's 'crunch time'. The ones that fit have blue trim on the inside the waistband of the black and blue pairs, the ones that have the new cut have a white trim inside the waist band of the black and blue pairs. I even had him try a size larger to see if it helped. Yes, the waist was bigger, but still felt just as 'strangled'.
I don't know why there has been the change. I hope it is only a bad lot. If it is a design change in the pattern, then Haggar should consider a new style with these changes and restore the tried and true sizing for their hard-to-please loyal customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Homerun Style, Comfort and Quality all come together in Hagar Slacks.
I don't know if Hagar slacks were made for me, or I was made for them, but they are very comfortable, stylish and keep their fresh appearance throughout the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ron42 This product does have great features and quality.
I have several of your cool 18 shorts and they are wonderful. I have an ostomy and the expandable waist is perfect for me. However when I received my cool 18 pants I found them to be a smaller fit than the shorts even though they are the same 38 size. I'm hoping to lose some weight but afraid my shorts then will be to big.

- Button color
I have two issues with these pants: 1. The stitching inside of one of the front pockets was bad from the factory and I had to make a repair. 2. I would prefer buttons that match the color of the pants, not marbled-brown. Otherwise, these pants are exactly what I wanted. The fit was as expected.
