by Copter Levis ruined a great thing
Levis changed the style from regular fit to straight fit and they are terrible!! I have returned 10 pair thinking they were manufactued wrong to find out they changed the style and kept the same 505 designation number. J.C. Penny's on the other hand is still the best place to shop hands down!!

by mtim Very good purchase
Every since I bought a pair of these jeans 1 1/2 years ago, they are the only kind of jeans i wear. I have them in many colors and just love them. They are the most comfortable jeans ever. It feels like I'm wearing sweat pants. I will be a fan of these jeans forever!

by tellit Poor jeans from Levi
In the past, I have always liked Levi jeans. When Penney put them on sale, I ordered several, thinking I had a real bargain. Not so! The jeans were flimsy and not nearly the good quality of the past. I opened two pair and in addition to the light weight, they had obvious defects in the denim as though rejects instead of first quality. Just received the jeans today and will definitely return them. It is sad to see Levi quality is now so poor.

by Cindy1Shopper Hard-to-find size, great quality and color.
Size 32W 36L is a very hard to find size. Usually extra long pants come with an extra wide waist (Big & Tall) but Tall & Slim is out of luck. JCPenney has it in its catalaog, though, where I ordered it for a friend. The fit, color, and style are perfect. As long as Penney's continues to carry this product, and Levi's keeps up its high quality, I will continue to order from them.

by ourpic21 Levi's 505's life's must have
The ring went on my finger August 1st. Married on Sept. 21st. J.C. Penney came through and had a Big Mans, hard to find his size, black pair of Levi's 505's for him within a week for our biker wedding. Thank-you J.C. Penney ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ryno A great fit -- but definitely for slender guys
A few weeks ago I ordered a pair of 505 denim jeans and loved them. So I ordered a pair of 505 twill pants for work. The jeans are a great fit for me, but I only fit in them b/c the denim has some stretch to it. I thought the twill 505's might be the same so I ordered them and found out differently. The twill has no give in them, so I wasn't able to get them on over my thighs. I lift weights regularly and have pretty big thighs, so the 505 twill did not work. However, I do *very highly* recommend the 541 athletic fit -- I tried these hoping for a fit that went over my thighs and rear and they are PERFECT. Anyone who has a little more meat on their bones would do well with the 541 athletic fit. The 505 stretch denim is great for me, still a little tight, but not as tight as the 505 twill. I like the 559 twill, they have a little more room in seat and thigh but the rise is low. The 541 and 505 sit more at the waist. Great product, great selection and easy ordering from Penney's -- I have to get a long inseam so I'm glad to find those online.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AndrewOhio What happened to my cherished 505s...?
So glad to hear it's not just me. I thought I was going mad for a minute. Thinner denim, rides much higher, though with a shorter crotch, fair less stretch.. than the pair I bought and had since cherished 3 years ago.
Hope this message gets passed along with the others..
Levi's: Thanks for speaking up and advising on what to do when the jeans become not fit for use (referencing a note on the tag about donating used jeans). Though to be fair, this is not your place to chime -in. Make and even market a jean that will last your consumer 10+ years, as you had before, and they will come. The marginal cost (and mark-up) to moving to a more durable denim is not breaking anyone's bank. As a tall male, 6'7'' I often can't 'vote with my dollars', that is, there are few like products on the market. Please be a more responsible producer.
That's fine. Please make an attempt to rectify this. While I may not have many options, I don't mind passing this through my social circle. Not a threat, just the responsible thing to-do.

Levi jeans have been my favorite choice since I was a teenager (BOY! That was a LONG time ago!). Levi jeans are still fashionable, still very durable and still comfortable to wear. And add the fact that JCPenney had these jeans on sale was an even better reason to buy 2 more pair. In years past, my choice of Levi jeans would have been 501's. Now, however, I don't seem to care as much for the button-fly and much prefer the easier closure of the alternative method with the 505's. Over the years, I may not have worn out a pair of Levi's, but I have certainly "outgrown" many pair. Levi's are as good now as they were in the last century.
