by Thrifty Good jeans, undependable sizing
My husband loves Levis 517 Flex. The cut is classic and fits his long slender frame. The extra stretch in the flex fabric adds comfort. They are classy and durable. Beware if sizing! I recently ordered 2 pair in the SAME SIZE, thinking it would be good to have extras of his favorite. They arrived marked the same but one pair was 3 inches shorter than the other. We kept the correct pair, and noted that for the future... Levis doesn't have reliable quality control for size.

by Bryan0135 Maybe best boot cut jeans around, but color problems with some.
I bought a pair of black and 2 pairs of rinsed Indigo. I like Arizonian Jeans better, but their boot cuts were loose fit and these are slim fit, so it gives it the cowboyish look I wanted. These pants don't seem that slim as other slim pants, though.
These pants are rather expensive and they have some problems. My black pants were good, but the rinsed indigo had color problems. I ended up ordering two of this color so I know what typically happens with it.
First, if you wash them even once the color changes drastically. It still looks good and dark but looks more like regular dark stone wash.
The second issue is with both of the rinsed indigo pants I noticed that there was a crease in the pants that was discolored. I tried to fold my pant legs on the seam, but they fold how they want. Well, this fold on the pants left a discolored light blue stick that ruined the look of the pants. The first pair was unacceptable but the second pair discolored around the seam, so I guess they're fine.
I never got the regular dark stone wash, maybe their better, but the black is always good. So I suggest not getting the rinsed indigo color. It says on the tag about not washing them too much. I might consider fading them more or dying my discolored pants.

by FarmerSmitty Great jeans - always fit, even as I change!
I have worn the 517 boot cut jeans for more than 20 years. As I got older, and the waist went from 32 to 34 to 36, the fit was always good looking and comfortable. After recently losing 28 lbs and dropping back to a 34 inch waist, it was great to see that the latest two pair fit like a glove. Great for a 58 year-old farmer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Smader Terrible Sizing - Need try on at least 5 before one fits
Quality of these jeans is well except for the colors fading in spots or lines. Still not the quality they were when I started by them 30 years ago, when they were made in America. But, I guess quality changes with the times. Other than the sizing issue, I only have one other thing. Levis advertises that these are made in USA and this is really miss leading. "made in USA of imported and domestic fabric, imported, or imported of domestic fabric". They do not state "Made in America" The jeans I have seen in the past 5-19 years have been made in either Asia or Mexico. The Mexico made ones are the only ones I purchase at this time. The Asian made jeans seem to be real inconsistent. Meaning, one leg longer that the other, sizes being either way to small or really large, etc.
Even after all this, I still keep on buying Levi 517's. The only jeans I do like. Just try's my patience, that's all.

I would buy more of these, but I think next time I may get some of the 505 or maybe 517's. Good jeans, though......

3 times same problem. Must be a problem with quality control. Have always bought Levi jeans now they have no seams that line up for creases they have flaws in them and they have inseams that are 1 inch longer on 1 leg then the other we have made 3 trips for the same problems. Have given up can't afford this any longer. Have always been a faithful to J>C> Penney because they are the only ones to carry tall women sizes. Now I don't know!!!!!!!!!!
