Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE THE CUT!!!! I wear dress shirts everyday. I've been buying JCPenney Stafford shirts, about 10-15 a year, THE EXACT SIZE, for the last 15 years. So last week I went an picked up another 9 shirts, again the EXACT SAME SIZE I've been wearing for 15 years. The cut is completely different. The sleeves are too narrow and the armpit is cut toonarrow. While this fine when my arms are down to my sides, I cannot raise them. When I do, the sleeves run right up my arm. Driving is now uncomfortable. If I reach above my head the shirt becomes untucked. I had to take them all back. I tried on a shirt with longer sleeves but that didn't work because it doesn't look right when my arms are down because of all the extra fabric. I'm sad to say I'll never buy another JCPenney shirt until the correct this major issue. Take a lesson from "NEW COKE" and "CLASSIC COKE" way back when. Why fool with a good thing?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed at Changes I too have been buying Stafford dress shirts for a number of years. Last month I bought one of the new houndstooth pattern dress shirts, same size and sleeve length I always get. The cut of the shirt was completely different. The sleeves were two tight in the forearm areas and the biceps. I could hardly move and when I showed my wife how tight it was, the back ripped. I thought maybe I just bought a mislabeled shirt so I went back, got four different kinds and longer sleeve length-same problem. Shirts are uncomfortable now. Makes my arms feel huge when they aren't. I'm taking very good care of my old ones until I can find a suitable replacement or until Penny's fixes this. If this is a cost cutting measure to use less cloth, I'd rather pay $2.00 more per shirt and go back to the old cut. Now my sleeves wrinkle at the bend and look sloppy. You had a great product; please go back to it. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get some color selection back PLEASE! My husband and two sons have worn these shirts for years, they hate long sleeves. It has been way too many years since the colors have changed. Fortunately they haven't completely worn out the great colors we got quite some time ago, but I would love to refresh their shirts if there were just some decent options besides the basics!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Fit; sleeves are too narrow I concur with SadJCPCustomer - I've been buying these shirts for years and loved them. In early Dec. 2012 I bought a couple at my local Penney's and noticed that the sleeves were too tight, even though they had the same SIZE label on the shirt as ones bought previously. It appears that Penney's has changed the cut of this shirt. I like to roll up my sleeves when wearing these shirts, but that is really not possible now because the sleeves are just too tight. Even when I don't roll up the sleeves, they feel constricting when I reach for something. For me, the problem is mostly in the forearms (not so much in the shoulder/armpit area). This problem essentially makes the shirts unwearable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Changes you made to sizing are very poor. Same as others who are completely dissatisfied with the changes made to shirt sizing. Men like to just go into the store and buy what has worked well in the past. Changes you made are ill conceived. Your process for verifying that changes will result in improved customer satisfaction is poor. I would pay $10.00 more for each shirt just to be able to buy it and know it will fit the same as the last time I bought the shirt. I would like a reply as to why you changed the way you size the shirts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened??? I should have paid attention to the reviews and changes to what used to be the favorite and preferred dress shirt for my husband all these years. What happened to these shirts???? The cut is no longer the same- I always bought a regular fit shirt for my hubby as he's kept his waistline trim, but the normal size shirt no longer fits- way too tight across the chest, neck, and waist. The material is see through- not suited for a man's business shirt. Very disappointed, the quality and fit is gone. You've lost another customer as I'm not willing to take another chance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware: New Shirts Different Cut/Fit These Stafford shirts used to be my go to shirt. Reasonably priced, stylish, fit well, and were very easy to keep looking nice. I probably have had over two dozen of these shirts over the years, as I try to trade them out every so often to keep them looking fresh. The last set of Stafford fitted shirts I bought, the exact size and cut as all my previous shirts, were way too tight in the arms, upper chest, and upper back. I could barely lift my arms up the fabric was so tight. The chest and back felt like they were about to rip open with any movement. The fabric also is quite thin and see through. I can see the elbows wearing through quite fast. So, make sure you try on these shirts before purchasing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrated with fit! Returning our third shirt. I guess we are slow learners. My husband wears dress shirts every day. For years we have only purchased JCP Stafford shirts. My husband has not changed sizes, if anything he has lost weight. The shirts are too tight through the chest and hip. Poor decision to change the sizing. Does anyone know of a new brand that we can change to?

Is this the version of Stafford shirt where the top button is on an elastic tab?

I'm looking specifically for that construction. Thanks!
Asked by: shopper
Yes it has stretch button. But the sizing has changed. Shirts are running smaller.
