by EazyL1v1ng True Cuban "guayabera" (Havanera)
SInce I moved to the continental US 10 years ago, I've never come across a "guayabera" shirt in stores like the ones I could buy in Puerto Rico. The quality of the fabric is excellent, as well as the design and value of this type of shirt, which I have always bought at much more expensive prices. Ideal for a casual-dressy Cuban or Miami look on hot summer days.

by Bummed True to Size, Extremely Poor Design Choice
I was so let down by this product I created an account just to post a review.
First off, they do not run small--at all. If anything they are slightly big or relaxed fit. I wear a large in almost everything and I ordered a large even though everyone said order a size bigger...I could have gone medium.
The real problem is the fabric behind the buttons. For some reason the front of the shirt was designed so that the backing of the button side and the hole side of the shirt have unnecessary extra fabric that gives the shirt an upside down V look. It is subtle in the image of the model wearing the shirt, but VERY apparent when you are wearing the shirt. If you move around this fabric bunches up and makes you look like a slob/idiot. The worst part is that the extra fabric is completely unnecessary. I will be returning this item. It just misses the mark. It was close, but SO off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Earnan Excellent value Guayabera
I live in Texas, where the summers are nine months long and anything below 90 degrees is nice weather. Prior to discovering Guayaberas I had worn pocket polos with a collar as the best combination of comfort and style. However Guayaberas are even better because they don't cling to you and so allow air circulation that helps to keep you cooler. Also they have pockets, four of them, and I, personally, can't live without pockets and there is no such thing as too many. These Havanera guayaberas are very well made, attractive, and the best value that I have found. Most other guayaberas that I have found are considerably more expensive, yet I can see no significant difference from the Havanera. True, some of them are linen, but cotton is fine with me. As to style, guayaberas are a traditional Latin dress shirt and the style is pretty much standardized, with only small variations in the pattern of the embroidered vertical strips. In short...the guayabera was designed by people who live in hot climates, for wear in hot climates. It does what it is supposed to do, and these Havanera guayaberas are the best value for the money that I have found. Nuf said.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wess Love this style
I specifically purchase this shirt to wear when I board ship for my cruise in November. It matches the rest of my attire and is very comfortable.
I ordered it online to be picked up at my local Penneys.
I also purchased another banded shirt in the same order, both in my size, XL.
When I returned home, I tried them on and found that evidently
this brand runs a little small so I needed to exchange it for the next
larger size. The banded shirt fit perfectly. I returned to the store to reorder. Your clerk.was great and went into the men's department
and found the larger size in stock and made the exchange efficiently.
A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU.

Rated 1 out of 5 by smokeytm Changed for the worse
A few years ago I had purchased a couple Havanera Co.® Guayabera shirts from my local JC Penney store and was very happy with them. I have lost a significant amount of weight since then, and wanted to replace the shirts that were now too big. Based on the picture and the description, I thought these were the same shirts that I had purchased before, so I ordered one in each color. When I received them I discovered that the shirts have changed substantially. The previous shirts had the pleating and embroidery on both the front and back of the shirts. The new shirts only have the pleating and embroidery on the front of the shirt, the back of the shirt is plain. I don't know what to call this shirt (a half Guayabera shirt?) If you want a Guayabera shirt, do NOT buy this shirt.

After purchasing a couple of these shirts online, in different colors, decided to buy a white one, for my job.It is comfortable, and has four pockets, which I like. The material is soft, and easy to wash.
Would highly recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by msu1966 Style and look was not what I expected
The style , fit and cut looked too much like a pharmacist garment. Not what I was looking for for to wear in my son's wedding in Mexico.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dennis Very stylish and comfortable shirt for semi-formal and casual wear.
The Guayabera shirt is comfortable and stylish to wear for most any occasion (or none). I like the extra pockets and the "overshirt" length. The styling is subtle and tasteful.
