Rated 5 out of 5 by Fits great. Quality better than the Broadcloth SuperShirt I bought this shirt for my wedding day and it is fantastic. I've always like Stafford's SuperShirt but they changed the standard supershirt to the thinner broadcloth material. PinPoint is definitely better. i highly recommend this shirt. December 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by They changed the fit My mistake, I went to a Penny store nearby to get the dress shirts I have been wearing for decades and of course they only had one since inventories appear to be disappearing lately (not due to sales). I spoke with a clerk and I commented about the inventory and she offered to tell me that they also changed the sleeve cut and that it was a 'tailored' fit. I bought the one shirt then went back to work and ordered several more on line. When I got them I was very disappointed to find out that the tailored sleeve really meant that the shirst are impossible to move in. My forearms were literally wrapped tight by the sleeve. They are very uncomforatable and my forearms are not big by any means. I'll need to return all the shirts and find a new source going forward. Pennys has been a huge disappointment in last couple years and I can't afford to buy what I thought would be a consistent product only to find they change things up in a bad way. Do not but stafford shirts! October 30, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by JCP Changed Sizing - They No Longer Fit I had been buying these Stafford shirts for many years. In fact, they were the only dress shirts I would buy. Mostly because of the stretchable collar button and I could always rely on their proper fit. When they would get worn, I would replace them with the same style and size, which is what I did on my latest purchase. Sadly, when I put them on, I realized that the sizing was totally different then it use to be. They were so tight that I could not move my arms. I returned them all. I had read similar complaints from other reviewers but did not heed their warnings. They replaced what they use to call "Classic Fit" with what they now call "Regular Fit". Why would JCP do this? Did they change manufacturers? Are they trying to reduce costs by using less material? Although JCP carries other brands, I will have to shop for those other brands elsewhere - it’s the principle of the thing. Does anyone know of another brand that has the stretchable collar button? Rated 1 out of 5 by The fit has changed a lot My husband, age 45, has been wearing this pinpoint, cotton/poly blend shirt in the regular/classic fit for years (neck 17, sleeve 34/35). After reading recent reviews I tentatively ordered two new white shirts. The label reads the same size, cut, and pinpoint fabric cotton/poly blend as his previous shirts, BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME FIT. Let me emphasize that my husband is the same weight/size as before, but the shirt is not the same. My husband complained that the shirts felt tight about the shoulder, short on the sleeve, and tight around the forearm when he bent his elbows. I compared the sleeve to his old shirts, and sure enough, the new cut has been reduced by approx. 2 inches circumference in the forearm, and over three inches in the upper arm. My husband says it feels like a bad fitting slim/fitted shirt. He will be wearing these only when he can roll up the sleeves. My husband and my two sons will be shopping for a new brand of shirt. I can't figure out why JCP changed their "best selling shirt." We are very disappointed. July 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by best dress shirt ever created for american male i have been wearing dress shirts for over 40 years and this dress shirt i cannot say enuf about. to start the expandable button- such a simple addition that works so well. why has no one put it in a shirt before. and why dont they put it in all they're shirts. the fit is american classic. not european that squeezes you or full fit that ballons out of your pants. the scotchguard really helps extend the life of the shirt. what i also really appreciate are the collar tabs that are sewn into the collar instead of free to come out every time you wash it like those fancy-schmancy expensive shirts that others make. and last but certainly not least, mostly cotton and polyester lets the shirt breathe and still be wrinkle free 1 hour later. i wore a 100% cotton shirt ONE time. looked like i slept in it after a little bit. if you ever stop making this style shirt i quit penny's. i mean it. its probably the last thing you have that sets you apart from the rest. sorry about the punctuation. im lazy. I repeat, best shirt I've ever bought! December 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Shirt Great Value Can't beat the price on this neato shirt!. Have my closet stuffed with these things. May 5, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Comfort stretch collar causes problems Stafford shirts have been my husband's go-to dress shirts for years. Recently, the comfort stretch collar was added which seemed like it would be a great addition. The first time we ordered this shirt with the comfort stretch collar, my husband noticed the neck fit oddly. He's always in between neck sizes so we chalked it up to that. We have since ordered this shirt in many different sizes and no matter, the collar has a problem. When buttoned up and worn with a tie it sits very high and shows above the top of the tie. My husband does not wear loose ties. They are as tight as can be and still, weird button popping out the top. Aside from the collar, the shirt is great. The athletic cut on this shirt is a great slimmer option around the waist. The shirts are nice and wrinkle free straight from the dryer. If it weren't for the collar, I simply wouldn't have enough nice things to stay about this shirt. Bummer. May 21, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Slipping Quality I have been purchasing these shirts on-line from J.C. Penney for many years. I just recently bought 5 more. I always order the same size, big and tall. I am very disappointed in the latest purchase. The quality is the same is always, and I expect they will last similar to previous purchases. My complaint is with the length of the shirts. I always get big and tall because I like the long tails. I am a large person, and need the longer tail to make sure the shirt stays tucked in. The tails on these shirts are shorter than the ones I bought last time by about 2" It makes a huge difference, and is very annoying. I held them up side by side and can clearly see the difference. If you don't need the longer tails, you will probably like these shirts. I find them otherwise to be decent. January 9, 2016

Answer:
No, but the Collection by Michael Strahan has cotton stretch collar which holds up nicely and conforms without distortion. A little pricier, but well worth the comfort. Try those also sold at JCP.

Answer:
Fitted is tapered in ~1" on each side at the shoulder and at the waist compared to regular fit.

Athletic fit is for men with muscles (shoulder muscles, larger biceps, and thin, waists). Athletic fit is roomy in the shoulders/arms and tapered in 2 inches on either side at the waist (compared to regular fit). Think of a V-shaped torso, wide at the top and narrow at the bottom.

Summary:
Regular Fit: Lots of room at the belly.
Fitted Fit: The average Joe older than 30.
Athletic Fit: Men in their 20's/30's that spend time in the gym, or are diesel mechanics.
Slim Fit: Men in their early 20's

Answer:
I'm not totally sure, but if your asking about the Stafford dress shirt, a fitted, or athletic shirt to me means that the shirt fits a lot tighter or snugger to the body. Probably fits better on someone with a toned, slightly slimmed down chest and stomach area.

Answer:
It's not enough cotton I know that! The shirt is quite thin, compared to other Stafford shirts which I prefer a lot better. The shirt might be a bit better for summer wear? Still a nice shirt though for the price.

Answer:
NO - the collar stays are NOT removable - and the only thing we don't like is not knowing how long the elastic strap on the top bottom is going to last. We really prefer the shirt without the elastic strap.
