Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product dont hold up! I bought 2 of these bands one to put on each side of my engagement ring, I ask the lady if they would turn and she said no they are not suppose to, after a few months they turned black, my heart was broke, I sent them back to be sized and had them coated in rhodium, I think is what they called it 3 weeks without my rings it lasted about 6 months but I couldn't wear them much because of them turning, we took them back to have them cleaned and recoated she said it would be 3 more weeks being that I wanted to wear them to a family reunion, they couldn't be gone for that long, they almost lost them the first time, they had left them on top the safe at the jewelry country. So I said no, took them to a local jeweler and had them back in 5 days, I am so upset about my rings I wished the lady would have been honest about them to start out, my husband feels so bad about me being so sad about them, they are an embarrassment. They need to quit selling that platinere junk. I will never purchase anything else from Jcpenneys.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I was told I was getting My husband and I bought this ring under the impression we were getting a white gold band being that is what we said we wanted. Two months after I bought it, my ring started turning BLACK!! I had bought the care plan so I took it back and asked them why it was doing that to which they replied, "I don't know, it's white gold but we can send it out." It was sent out, took another 2 months to get it back and 2 months after that, it was black again. Only after taking it to Kay's--where my engagement ring is from--did I learn this is SILVER (there's not even enough platinum in it for them to stamp the inside) and that HALF THE DIAMONDS WERE FAKE!!! Needless to say, I am taking this ring back and getting my money back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Quality This ring looked beautiful next to my solitarie ring. However, I'm a water aerobic instructor and wore it in the pool for 45min and about an hour later I looked down and the finish was coming off. They did fix it since I bought the protection plan. All was well for about 2 months until today when I forgot to take my rings off, once again the finish came off my ring. I took it back today and will hope for the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value loved the ring, size runs little big and I did not want to have it sized. The diamonds on top tend to want to turn under the finger but i am sure sizing would help that issue. Beautiful ring and would recommend this ring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ring for great price! I bought this ring just earlier today. I wanted something with diamonds in it, but not expensive. They showed me this and I fell in love. It looks great next to my solitaire engagement ring and just adds the sparkle I was looking for. The only thing different I would have liked was a white gold band. But the platinaire is very pretty and I couldnt tell a difference. I did get this ring on sale, and then an extra 20% off with my JCPenney card, so it was an awesome price! It is a little smaller than my size 7 engagement ring, but not too bad. I did buy the care plan with it, so I can have it resized later on.

Sizing & Availability

Can this ring be sized to a 10? If so, typically how long does sizing take & can I only purchase this ring online?
Asked by: Gabby7998
No, for two reasons. First, and this applies no matter what the ring is made of, is because it is a channel set band, and channel set bands cannot be resized without jeopardizing the security of the diamonds. Resizing a ring alters the curve of the band, and would affect the security and shape of the channel that holds the diamonds in place. It would stretch the channel out of shape and loosen the hold it has on the stones. Most jewelers will decline to resize anything with channel set stones because of the risk in losing stones later. Secondly, this ring is not made from gold or from sterling silver. It is made from a hybrid alloy of silver, a very small amount of platinum and copper. There is no sizing alloy available to use to size this kind of a ring up, or to solder it in place to size it up or down. The rings were originally produced using molds that made them in different sizes from the beginning, so sizing them wasn't needed. You need to be very careful when purchasing rings made from non standard metals that you get the correct size at the time of purchase. Resizing services for these types of items don't exist. Jewelers are generally equipped to work with only gold, Platinum, and some with silver.
