Rated 2 out of 5 by from problem My problem is I bought this as a gift. After giving it to the person it gets assembled only to find out there is no top. You need to order the top separately! REALLY? You do see when you look at the set there are additional things to buy and the tops are there but no where did it say when buying the cabinet alone that you will need to purchase a top.. So an additional charge for the top and additional shipping and handling had to be paid now that I had to order again. When you look at the additional information for the product it gives the measurement's but not a word mentioned that you will need to order the top if ordering separately from the rest of the set. How about adding that to the information so we are aware of additional costs for this product. How would I know looking at this product that there was no top even if I ordered it alone? The picture doesn't look like the top is missing when pictured alone either. yeesh

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Eureka! I found a basket! Purchased 4 different 13 gal. wastebaskets and had to return all of them, too large for the bin. I finally found a rectangular 7.5 gal. wastebasket, measures 13 3/8 x 10 5/8 x 17 1/4 inches without the cover. It's a good fit for the bin, which is about 13 1/2 x 12 1/2 when you allow for the retaining pins. I can use the 13 gal. bags. Leave about 2 inches over the edges of the basket and the bag won't fall in or catch on the pins. I was very disappointed that this model did not include a bag holder and would not accommodate a 13 gal. basket. The units are not difficult to put together, just go slow and follow the instructions. White glue is recommended for the wooden dowels, but not included with the product. The off-white color is more of a pale yellow. I will paint mine white soon. I also would have preferred brass hardware. Unfortunately, the cabinet pulls are not a style easily found. These units are imported and there is no manufacturer information included. I put this beside the cabinet/drawer unit and used the double top. I left out the shelf in the drawer unit so I could put in a small basket for recycle items. It really looks nice, except for the color. I do wish the store still carried the trash bin model which was available in 2003. That one included a bag holder for 13 gal. bags.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor-quality construction methods I was initially impressed with the lack of damage to the components in shipping. All pieces were painted pretty uniformly and seemed to be a quality paint. Color is more "almond" than white, so they look dirty and wrong in my kitchen. None of the seams where components are joined together are painted heavily enough to seal against moisture. MDF and moisture do not mix, so I used a clear caulk to rectify the problem after assembly. The camlock fasteners caused the paint to crack/split upon tightening the fasteners (more caulk). One drawer pull was too long to allow the screw to tighten sufficiently, causing the handle to flop around loosely. These units look like doll house furniture when stacked singly, which I did in my kitchen because of a lack of wall space. When they are used two-abreast, they lose that look. The MDF is too porous and coarse for screws that are less than 3/4" long. You will find many of the screws that are meant to attach the back panel, will strip the MDF. Longer screws in these locations should help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THESE 2 PIECES I purchased also the Earley kitchen cabinet and am using them together. No problem assembling and I am a 79 young widow who just 2 years ago found out how to use my hubby's (married 58-1/2 when he passed) tools. Pat me on the back....looks good and have had many compliments. JCP did it again...of course, WITH MY HELP!!! ha ha (modular hutch with glass doors)jcp di

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recycling bins for the mud room I looked for a long time for a bin system that would work in our mud room for recycleables. We bought two to use as a dual system with a single top. This is perfect. The comment regarding the trash cans is because the bin area in the modular is square - pretty much 12" x 12" - whereas most tall kitchen trash cans are rectangular. I found two at Lowe's that are flexible plastic and work. This is a great addition to our now more useful mudroom. Regarding assembly, there were more than enough parts although my husband opted for some longer screws in a few areas (what can I say, he's an engineer!) You won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from exactly what I needed It was easy enough to put together...would be easier with 2 people though. It's a nice size, so far pretty sturdy & the brown is as shown. I wish there were more choices for colors but that's about it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice hardware, but not great quality Bought 2 of these units and also the one that is all drawers. Purchased the top piece for 3 units. Drawers don't glide easily. Dropped one of the drawers while we were putting into place (actually the drawer fell out of the unit, not dropped by us) and it busted. The top is rough after getting wet a couple of times. The hardware is pretty, but disappointed in the rest considering the cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing black paint finish Unfortunately I had to return this product immediately. As soon as I began unpacking the pieces from the box, the black paint finish was chipping off at the slightest touch. This may have been just one lemon, as I have been so pleased with JCP products. Perhaps the white finish is much better.
