Rated 5 out of 5 by from HIGHLY RECOMMEND Best grinder I have ever used Best grinder ever. Whether I want to use my french press or drip brew the 18 grind selection range grinds the perfect cup. I grind 6 servings in the morning for my french press and in the afternoon 10 servings for my drip brew. (I have less patience to make coffee in the afternoon) I grind over a pound a week sometimes more, ok usually more. I use it at least twice a day. Its so fast consistent and reliable. With the grind hopper I can load .5 lbs at once and do not have to worry about a messy clean up or measuring each serving before grinding. It is so convenient and makes life easier. The previous reviewer had a bad experience with amazon. Well I suggest you use paypal when purchasing online. Paypal guarantees you get what you buy as does ebay with their buyer protection or your money back. I have had several bad experiences with amazon I stopped using their services long ago. Ebay and/or paypal has always resolved any and all issues I have ever had. Ten year ebay buyer and I have never been dissapointed. Buy from a reputable buyer with guarantees and warranties don't give Mr.Coffee a bad review because of a bad seller unlicensed on a site without quality guarantees. Go to a store and pay full price or direct from the manufacturer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best coffee grinder I have ever owned and used I have used this grinder for over 2 years without a fault until this AM when I was filling the hopper. The 2 parts separated and I ended up with beans every where and I used Mr Coffee's name in vain. I feel confident, after reading all the reviews, that this problem will be resolved tomorrow which is a Monday.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holy ground Play on words, but this grinder does completely (wholly) grind as a burr mill should. I have had mine for over a year and a half, grinding nearly every day with no issues. I can fine grind espresso beans for a cappuccino, medium grind dark roast beans for my daughter's drip brewer or course grind for ...whatever...(I don't use the French press because I'm simply lazy to). Anyhow, I would not recommend ever putting any oily flavored beans in the hopper as the oils may clog or messy up the inside of your grinder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ground coffee in the housing I have this coffee bean grinder and for whatever reason ground coffee is getting into the housing of the machine. I have had this machine for 3+ years and never had this happen. I keep shaking it and more and more ground coffee keeps coming out. I have enough to make at least a pot and half of coffee so far. The coffee is coming out of the holes at the bottom where the cord winds. I'm not sure what could be wrong with my machine that is causing this too happen. I use it on an almost daily basis. Any feedback about this situation would be appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than a blade grinder! I am not a coffee geek brewing different styles each day. After years of using a blade grinder, I finally switched to this one and have been nothing but pleased with it for now more than 2 years. The grind is constantly uniform and adjustable for individual tastes. The admonition found in another review against grinding flavored, oily beans is, IMHO, unfounded. Then again, I follow up a hopper of those oily beans with one of "dry" beans. So, as they say, your mileage may vary. (Speaking of which, I read that the hopper holds a half pound of beans. Unless the design has changed in the last two years, mine holds approx. 12 ounces.) Finally, considering that when I first learned there was such a thing as a burr grinder the prices were in the hundreds of dollars, the price point for this unit definitely makes it a best buy. And lest you be swayed by those who have had maintenance issues with the grinder, let me assure you that Mr. Coffee's customer service department will make things right. I had an issue with my brewer and they resolved it extremely fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Burr Grinder We've had this grinder well over two years to replace our old blade grinder. We purchased it based on the reviews that others had left, and other reports that a burr grinder is superior to a blade. While we don't grind coffee every day, we do grind a batch that lasts us about four-five days. We have had no problems with performance or anything breaking prematurely as I have read in other reviews posted here. I have noticed that with fresh, oily beans it does clog if the spout is not cleaned regularly. I have also noticed that the grinder produces enough static that the grounds do stick to the outside of the cup after pouring the grounds out. If I let it sit for a while then I don't have this problem. Overall a good product for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic coffee grinder! I just checked my records and was amazed to see that I've had this grinder for almost 3 years! I use it a lot - probably grind at least a pound of coffee every week, and it still works perfectly. I love the way I can fine tune the grind. Yes, it's a bit noisy, but all grinders are noisy. It just encourages me to plan more effectively. :) I can't say enough good things about this - the best $40 I've ever spent.

Answer:
I really don't know. But it has a fine grind, so probably. Having different levels from fine to coarse grind should allow you to grind just about anything. I love it.

Answer:
I would not attempt to grind spice in this, it works great on coffee beans and I have dedicated it to coffee beans, it is very powerful! I have a smaller grinder that I use for spices.

The BVMC-BMH23 burr mill grinder does not have any antistatic features. Please note that some brands of coffee beans tend to have more of a static issue than other.
