Rated 4 out of 5 by from still the most comportable shoe I have been buying this shoe forever because it's the only one i can stand to walk in all day (10 -13 hrs a day in retail). i have tried about every shoe imaginable only to come back to this one. The only problem I have really had is that they tend to squeak after a short period. If you read reviews, you will see that this is most common for this shoe. I have found that it comes from the insole material moving around against the inside sole of the shoe. It appears between the adhesive and the materials of these two components it makes for the perfect condition to cause a squeaking condition like walking on wet floors. I have found that if I peel back the insole and sprinkle talcum powder under it, I can eliminate the squeak. i wouldn't put up with doing this if it weren't for how comfortable they are. I usually buy two at a time so i will always have a new pair on hand for work (black) and casual wear (white). i will say that the last two pairs i have worn have not really squeaked and I have been wearing them for months.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable They squeak, I have 2 pair of these shoes bought roughly a year apart, the older sqeaks really bad, and the newer pair is getting worse every time i wear them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from returned as they are not built right Hi I have nike air shoes size 15 that I bought last year. those fit fine. another old [but new in store] pair in size 15 was just right as they were like my old white ones that are made correctly. [but those were white and I wanted the black pair. so i ordered these from jcp and expected to get the same product that I saw in stores. [but nike dont make those anymore] the old style has red outlines around the logo and are made better than the new model which is black on black [light weights too] the new nike air is made differently with narrow across the toes [cramping] and wider across the heel - my heel goes up and down as it is made wrong [yes I tried different ways to lace/ tie up these ill fitting shoes] sadly they changed the design and even the color on these new black nike air shoes - So my search for good shoes continues. I hope to go find the properly made nike airs from last year and should buy two if they have them there. After trying them on [for sure]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap like other Nike Products I bought these shoes since I had the same shoes prior to the NIKE shoes I purchased last year that lasted only 4 months. At less than 6 months these shoes too are starting to wear out. My recent pair of Monarchs lasted nearly 2 years but these pairs barely lasted 6 months. I looks like NIKE no longer cares about making quality shoes. I have been a NIKE customer for many years but after having two pairs of shoes fall apart in less than 6 months I will be looking for someone who makes quality shoes like NIKE use to do. When I first purchased these shoes I had a squeaking noise coming from the shoes which should have been a warning that I should have returned them. At two months I had to replace the shoe laces. Now at 5 1/2 months the left sole to the left shoe is coming apart and I now need new shoes again in less than 6 months buying NIKE shoes. I've purchased many shoes and these last two NIKE shoes are the only ones that have worn out in less than 6 months. This includes shoes used for work that are subject to heavy use when these shoes were subjected to light use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shoe This is an awesome shoe for the price! I am very glad JCP carries it in a wide width. I do wish they could carry more of the Nike air line in wide widths, maybe some day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable & Affordable Too!! My husband is a correctional Officer, and he's constantly walking on concrete all day. He takes medications for gout also, but his heel was killing him. He thought he was going to have to go to the doctor, but I told him to just give Nike's Top Training shoe a try before we went to all the problems a doctor's visit could cause. He did, loves them, and never has problems now!! They are so comfortable. He says, "It feels like I'm walking on the clouds!!" **Very Affordable too!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Durable I have owned three pair of these shoes over the past 4 years. I keep going back to them because I just can't find another shoe that offers support over the life of the shoe, comfort, and durability that these have. They keep my flat feet supported and keep my legs in line so that I never have any knee issues. I wear them at least 12 hours a day for 5 days a week, and they generally last about a year before the soles wear out. They do squeak like crazy after very little use, so no sneaking around in these. I think it has something to do with the air chambers rubbing inside the soles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing I started a job that required all black shoes and I found these at JCP for a decent price. Within a week I started noticing some strange squeaking. After a month I couldn't move without sounding like my shoes came with their own sound effects. JCP let me return them for another pair(thought I might have just lucked into a defective pair). Next pair did the exact same thing. After some checking it seems the air cushions must have blown out. I did nothing more than walk around a store ~35 hours a week and it was too much for the air cushions to handle.

Answer:
These are not cut low or high. One reason i wear these is that the rear of the shoe is high enough to stay on when you hang it under a chair or something.

Answer:
They come up to right above the ankle bone. I guess you would call these a mid-cut. Definitely not low tops, and certainly not high tops. I will tell you, however, that I have bought 8 pairs of these shoes in total over the past few years. They are, by far, the most comfortable shoe I have ever had. The added comfort is due to the wide size.

Answer:
The shoe dips down below the ankle from a higher front, then sweeps back up to grip at the heel. Overall very comfortable and nicely cushioned around the upper edge. .

Answer:
The Nike® Air Monarch IV Mens Training Shoes I bought are black & they where regular cut. I use them for work ( USPS ) for the 6 hours of walking I do, and they fit so well that they do not need to be broken into. The problem I have is that they aren't Postal regulation shoes. I'm now having my Dr. write a letter that these Nike shoes work best for me. They are a higher quality than the regulation shoes, and both shoes look almost exactly alike. I want to do my job effectively with comfort, but they rather me be in pain. I'm sure that the JC Penney employees are treated better.

Answer:
yes it is, the maximum extra wide width. Most of the shoes are made for medium width. And different shoe manufactures offers various sizes for the extra width, and is available when user selects the shoe size.

I need a size 10 1/2 women's but Nike doesn't offer it in T lite or View III. It looks like the men's Air Monarch is very similar. What size should I buy? Someone told me to buy 2 sizes smaller.

Answer:
Men's shoe size is generally considered 2 sizes smaller than women's.
An 8 1/2 men's should translate to a 10 1/2 women's.
