Rated 2 out of 5 by metalman Onion Chopper base should be made of metal
This would be a great time saver if you could afford to use it to do your chopping, and then just throw it away. The time saved chopping is lost because of the time needed to clean this thing,
Also, so much downward force is needed on the lid that the plastic base can't handle the pressure and the little knobs, that the lid attaches to, break off.
I made chili yesterday and after chopping four medium onions, two bell peppers, and one.jalapeno, the lid broke off.
I was almost glad it broke. That meant I didn't have to clean it. It's a nice idea, but it needs improvement.
I'm going to buy another one today, but I hope I can find one that is made of metal. Something that is a little sturdier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by meme1009 A real time saver
I dont normally purchase kitchen gadgets but thought I would give this one a try...I am so glad I did....I love it! It saves so much time chopping onions...Unlike a couple of other posters, I dont have a problem cleaning it....a small fine toothed tool come with it....it takes me about 60 seconds to scrape the crevices and then I put all parts in my DW......It took me a few times using it to figure out that smaller pieces of onion are easier to chop than large ones....I have used it for bell pepper and boiled eggs.....I will never go back to chopping onions by hand again....

Rated 3 out of 5 by envy87 Nice idea but not well thought out
I bought this chopper because I was tired of chopping cups and cups of onions by hand for my home made spaghetti. The chopper chopped the onions perfectly and it was fairly easy. The only problem is it is impossible to clean completely. The onion skins get stuck in the cracks and they provide a tool to remove skins but its useless. I ended up having to throw the chopper away because It just wasnt worth the extra time I spent trying to clean it

The blades are sharp and is surprisingly easy to use. One of the easiest way to cut onions tear free. I am replacing one I bought a few years ago and used frequently before it finally broke. Wish it was a little more durable, but it lasted long enough and worked well enough that I was willing to invest in another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LuvinLyfe Just what I needed
This little gadget was better than I expected. It has good quality contruction. You will have to use two hands to push the onion through the chopper (as instructed by the manual), but the speed and ease of use are great. I suspect that less force would be required with less dense foods like peppers, but overall a real time saver.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 1crazywoman This product breaks too easy
I have had three of these choppers. I love how they dice but the plastic breaks up too easy. One time, I hadn't noticed it and the plastic was in my salad I served a guest. How embarrassing! It works great for a short time but that is it. Too expensive to constantly replace.
