Rated 5 out of 5 by from blackout shades These are the first cordless blackout shades that we have put up. If I had seen these when I first purchased all my other shades, I would have gotten these for all my windows. They are a little more expensive, but well worth it. I can now put my summer sheers and curtains up and do not have to worry about the sun in the room at 5 am. Hope they last as long as the previous ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cut to width shade I'm very happy with the shade. It fits the window exactly and the room darkening works well. In some comments I read before purchase, someone noted that it looks gray when covering the window, but it's not objectionable - it's a soft gray. Besides that's when it's pulled down, usually when you're sleeping. The mounting hardware was easy to install and the top mount makes for a streamlined look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product These blinds are great. Our window is facing the west so it gets really warm. With these blinds it does a great job in blocking the strong afternoon sun. They are very easy to install and very easy to operate. Most importantly keeping the room cooler than ever.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shade was defective, 2nd time this has happened Bought a couple of this type of shade that were perfect, but also the last order and a previous one, were defective. End pieces were missing, cut was to short. Pennys was good on there return, so I appreciated that

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slight defects I bought 3 of these cellular shades. 2 of the 3 arrived with small gray spots (1 on one, and 2 on another), about the size of thumbprints, on the fabric of the shades, but we didn't see these defects until we had already taken down the hardware for our old window treatments, and installed the brackets for these shades. It wasn't worth sending them back for replacements, and having to temporarily reinstall the old coverings. The shades are installed in a bedroom, not in an area where a lot of visitors will see them. But for the cost, it was disappointing. These shades were a bit more expensive and a bit more difficult to install than were some that we bought last month from somewhere else for another bedroom. I ordered these from JCP because of the unusual window size, and the way I could customize the shade size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great blind but.. I bought this blackout blind after much research. The blind needed to be an outside install. Once installed it does darken the room. It fulfills its purpose well. I needed one 76 inches wide to cover both the three pane window and the trim. Sadly such blinds only come in 72 inch widths. (Three separate little blinds would have been cost prohibitive and would have let in more light). The blind covered the window and only partially covered the trim. I will probably use drapes to complete the look. I installed blocks to the wall to screw the brackets on and to bring the blind out level with the trim. It was relatively easy for me, as one person to install the blind with a bit of balancing on a step ladder. There are 4 plastic end caps needed but I could only find 3 in the box, (not good). There is a small plastic handle to pull down the blind. So far I am still trying to attach it correctly. Every time I pull the blind down it pops off! No instructions are provided on this so I will continue to problem solve. Overall a good blind but I have had to compromise a little. Too early to see how durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blinds I have been looking for blinds for a few years, however the custom ones are too expensive. This was a great option with the cut to width. They work great for light blocking, they were easy to install. If you watch the price of them for a while you may be able to find them very reasonable with a coupon that is offered. I also ordered one in the Beige color, and didn't like it. It was very easy to return, no questions asked.

Is this shade an outside mount? As well as inside.

Asked by: Linda
Outside mount worked perfectly for me. Inside mount needs to have 1.5" of clearance to mount the brackets.

Sliding glass window blinds

Can these be cut in the middle with one solid piece of frame on top, so we can raise and lower one side or the other?
Asked by: Roxelle
No they can not be cut. You would have to speak with a consultant in the store to see what your options are to have that "custom made" in the store.

Skylight use?

Can this blind be used in a skylight? Does it come with some sort of catch when blind is extended?
Asked by: abcd
I do not believe this blind is appropriate for use in a skylight. To answer your 2nd question, the blind stays extended once it is pulled into place. However, there is nothing supplied to keep it in place if it were used horizontally.
