Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible My husband and I purchased 2 of the larger sofas because we really liked the modern look. While I will say they are comfortable, we only had them for 2 months when an arm rest broke. Then one of our friends sat on the sofa and it broke again in another area . It was embarrassing for us and our friend. It's also pilling everywhere which makes them look old and dirty. We had paid extra for a warranty so I called JCP and told them about BOTH of the breaks. After weeks they sent someone out and he only repaired the arm rest and told us that he was only told about the arm rest and we would have to put in another order to have him fix the other sofa. These are sofas. They are meant to be sat on. For them to be breaking down after a few months is unacceptable. I usually am impressed by the quality of JCP items but this is NOT one of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it, but It Sags in the Middle I bought this couch 3 years ago as a replacement for my first sofa. I kept returning to this choice during months of looking. The pros: the fabric (we went with the microfiber) has held up well under the use of 3 very tall, active teens and 4 housepets. It is slightly taller than many other sofas, a plus for my long-legged family, and easier to get off of than many other choices we've looked at. The style looks good in just about any room. Now the cons: about a year ago, the sofa seat began sagging. It is not so much a cushion issue as it is the portion of the frame with springs holding up the cushions. I'm hoping to find a way to either fix or modify this problem, as I still really like the couch and had intentions of using it for 25 years, just like my last one. I'm a big Penneys supporter, so I am hoping they will remedy the situation in future versions of this sofa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeding all expectations! I bought three of Possibilities Fabric Roll-Arm Sofas in Top Hat fabric in Berry color, placed order in November and choose delivery for January. The delivery guys called 3 days before the delivery then worked with me on delivery date and time. It was a very professional process all the way from ordering till delivery and the sofas are great in each way, they look very very nice, fabric and quality is exceptional and size and comfort is way more than I have paid for in the past. Overall these are best of the best for this price and my whole family loves them including our cat, yet pet hair are very easy to clean with vacuum attachment. I waited to post this review and now its been five months since these sofas are in heavy use, still looking great and very very comfy. I am very satisfied with this purchase and can recommend to my pickiest family members and friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Just OK" Sofa My new Possibilities sofa was delivered today. I chose this sofa because I couldn't find the style I wanted in a color I liked and this was a great idea. My first impression was that I loved the color.....identical to the swatch on the website. But I was really disappointed in the fabric. I got the Lindy style because it looked a little textured but smoother than this sofa. The fabric resembles burlap and looks cheap....very cheap! Not sure how it will hold up. Both of my daughters have the same opinion....nice sofa, great color, ugly fabric. The pillows and back cushions are loosely stuffed. The sofa itself seems well constructed. Overall, wouldn't recommend the sofa in the Lindy fabric....unless you're looking for burlap! I wanted to be so excited to have a new piece of furniture and feel that it's "just OK"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish & Comfortable I like the style of this sofa. I bought it to replace an older sofa that is more of the Queen Anne styling. I think this one will fit in nicely with my furniture however. I like the color but the texture of the fabric leaves a little to be desired. The fabric is soft though. Overall it is acceptable. It is nice, firm and comfortable to sit on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed! I ordered this couch in the Lindy fabric (the most expensive option) and am so disappointed that within a few weeks, the couch started to pill so badly. Nearly a year later, it's an eyesore with the entire thing pilled and pulled. It looks dirty and worn! How could JCP sell a couch with fabric that is clearly not meant to be sat upon?! To boot, I'm the only one who sits on the couch, so it's not like there's a lot of wear and tear. I've tried sweater shavers which help a bit, but I shouldn't have to shave my couch! The color and look are fantastic, but that's just not enough when the fabric is so wrong. Such a bummer as I must live with it...I don't have a budget to replace a new couch annually!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy I saw this sofa online and liked it very much but wanted to see the fabrics and colors in person, so I visited my local JCP store. I loved it in the store and decided to buy. I ordered mine in the Top Hat fabric, which is a very fine-wale corduroy, in the Tobacco color. The fabric is so very soft and the sofa itself is so comfortable I fall asleep each time I put head back. It's too early to rate the durability, but if it lasts nearly as long as my previous JCP sofa did (17 years), I'll be a very happy girl. And the delivery service was a dream. I live in a high-rise condo with lots of restrictions and they were just great about complying and they were in and out in 10 mins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cozy and comfortable sofa I'm very pleased with this sofa. It looks just like the photo. It's cushy without being too soft, and the arm rests are nicely padded, and at a perfect angle for reading or resting with a toss pillow. While it does look just like the photo, one thing that I could not detect from the photo is the ribbed aspect of the fabric. It's like a very subtle form of corduroy, with the ribs very close together. If there's any drawback it would be that possibly a tall person would feel that the distance from the cushions you lean back on, to the front end of the cushions you sit on is too small. I'm 5'4" and it's fine for me, but seems maybe a bit shorter in this particular way than other sofas I've had. Customer service was very helpful when I had questions about the return policy for furniture (with such an expensive purchase, I wanted to know what my options would be if I wasn't happy) -- my guess is they'd be happy to measure any dimensions of the sofa for you. The only reason I gave durability a 4 rating (rather than a 5) is because I've had the sofa for only a few months. So far, it's durability has been perfectly fine.

the delivery men put the legs on. they are plastic, not wood, and they screw into the base of the couch or chair.

Are the back cushions attached? I'm concerned about them not staying in place while sitting on the sofa!

Asked by: Terry
As long as the unattached cushions stay in place they may be a good thing. Flipping the cushions AND rotating them every month or even every week can help maintain their shape. Equalizes wear as well.

What is the height of the back of the sofa without the cushions?

I am asking this for ease of moving it in and out a standard door. With the dimensions listed (82x39x36) it would be a tight squeeze through a standard door, but with the backcushions being removable, the actual back to the sofa should be more in the 29-32" height. Is that correct?
Asked by: DLee
Without the back cushions, and without the feet (it arrives with them still to be attached), it measures just 27 inches.
