Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oven is great I bought this stove two months ago to replace a 13 year old GE coil burner stove, which was starting to have problems. I first got a new coil burner stove but the oven was defective and the overall quality was not as good as my old one. With some reluctance, I got this one as a replacement. This one doesn't look cheap and the oven with the convection option is great. The big problem is the stove top doesn't give you a simmer option. I make large pots of beans, braise tougher grass fed beef roasts, etc. There is no burner setting that allows a good hours long simmer. Food either boils up and runs over, or sits there not cooking, so I have to watch it closely for however many hours it's cooking. My old GE stove worked perfectly for simmering, and I can't imagine why they changed this to eliminate that option. I would only recommend this model if you never want to simmer food, sauces, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek look Needing to replace my old cooktop my mother suggested GE as she bought one 2 years ago. We looked at dozens of stoves all different brands, but kept coming back to this one because of the sleek look of the darker slate color. I don't like stainless steel, it leaves finger prints and other smudges and the slate doesn't show that as much and seems to clean up easier. I also liked the dual convection / convention cook options - not that I know how or when to use the convection! The multiple burner sizes are great, no more putting a medium size pot on a large burner. One down side is that cooktops stain easily and this is not different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Doing fine so far. As long as we don't drop something heavy on the glass top it seems like a fine stove. Convection feature does seem to make some things cook better. Broiler rack options are either too high or too low. There should be another option between the top two rack positions. Range top is best cleaned with a special cleaning product if it gets sticky - a slight disadvantage over being able to use hot water and soap for all cleaning. Self-cleaning option seems to use lots of electric power, and still leaves an ashy residue on the bottom of the oven. Stovetop heating elements will be much more expensive to, and harder to, replace if they go bad than with a stovetop with coil-type heating elements. The wide range of heating element options on the top is good. In a year I could give you a better idea if I would recommend the stove. Value rating shown below is based on the sale price of the product when we bought it. It would have a lower value rating if we had had to pay full price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Different size burners within one and warming elem I purchased this range in March, and one of the burners does not work properly. It does not go to lower settings. The highest heat level comes on event when set at the lowest level. Also, the light that lets you know the burner is hot does not go off when the burner cools down. I already had to call for maintenance to fix what is supposed to be a new stove. I resent having to take off work. I never had this problem with GE products in the past. I am very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove Was afraid of flat top stoves but happy that I got it. The only thing I wish I had was a book on the stove as to how to cook with convection and the cleaning requirements.
