Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back to the way it should be! So far so good! I recently purchased this model after my fancy shmancy HE washer went haywire on me. I was so happy to find this model. It is not HE (which is getting more difficult to find) and it has the center agitator that I decided I must have again. The new fancy HE models have too many things that can go wrong, and like many others have found, clothes flopping around in the bottom of a tub in 2 inches of water just do not get clean. I almost cried when I lifted the lid and it was full of water, I was so happy. As for noise, I don't find that it's overly noisy. My laundry room is in the garage right by the living room. I couldn't hear it unless I open the door, so it is not loud enough to disturb us. If you are looking for affordable, easy to use, back to the way it was before you tried the over the top and over priced models, I highly recommend this model. GE is a trusted name and I think I made a great decision when I purchased this!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wish it was more like my old washer. I could put clothes in my 20 year old washer and forget about it, until time to do a second rinse, then after put clothes in the dryer. Unfortunately it stopped working. With this washing machine, I have yet to do a wash with no balance spinning problems. I am as careful as I can be loading the washer, equally distributing the laundry around the laundry tub. Then I have to baby sit it because it will actually walk out from the wall during a spin cycle. I'm afraid it will pull the drain hose out. I have had to get the clothes out wet and put them back in evenly around the laundry tub and run the drain and spin cycle. The machine cleans the clothes as long as you use the super load, deep rinse and fill the laundry tub only half full of clothes. I don't understand where any of these new washing machines saves any amount of water, because you can not was as many clothes at a time. I'm doing 2 to 3 times as many loads to get the same amount of clothes washed... so where is the water savings. I would LOVE to have a NEW washing machine made like the old ones were made 20 years ago!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Simple yet Elegant After reading hundreds of reviews of HE type washers, we chose this GE model. It has all we need, without the high tech features that often cause headaches and problems. It is simple yet elegant and gets the job done. We are very happy with our choice and would recommend it highly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Noisy Washer I just bought this washer, and very unhappy with the noise level. It is basically the same type machine that I had for the last 15 years, but it is so much louder! The agitator make a very loud, annoying sound during the entire cycle. In fact the entire washing process other than filling and draining the machine is very loud. I have to shut the door to the laundry room. It cleans well, but I am very annoyed with the noise level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features and was affordable. I am very satisfied with our new GE Washer. The load capacity is just right, the basket moves around, and I am able to pull the clothes out very easily without having to stretch. It is easy to use, and I love all the features. It was also very affordable, and operates with a minimum of noise. Thank you, Frances M. Rodriguez

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Washing Machine Just had my GE washer delivered today and did a couple loads to try it out. I switched from having a major brand HE non agitator washer. I tried it for 3 years and really thought my clothes were't getting clean. The first load I did with my new GE was a load of white towels, one had a chocolate stain I had washed 3 times in my old washer, pre treating stain, adding bleach and name brand detergent. After one wash in the new GE in whites normal cycle with hot water, detergent and bleach and the towels came out white as snow. I truly believe that because the clothes are agitated while washing they become cleaner. And if it does use a little more water than the HE models it will certainly be saved in electric used to wash them. As far as some reviewers and the noise issue, although the machine is not whisper quit, the noise it makes during a wash cycle is not annoying. It spins the clothes very dry and dry time is shorter. I recommend this machine highly, even after only using it twice. I am hopeful that it will provide excellent service to me for several years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GE needs to go back to the drawing board... Bought this particular model on Thursday (27 Apr) and it was delivered this morning (29 Apr). We installed it when he came home from work this afternoon. Having read the reviews, we made sure it was level and all packing material was removed, and I read the instructions so I could do a load of towels. I just went out to check if it was done. It had walked a foot away from the wall!!! The pictures show why - the machine bunched and literally twisted the towels to one side during the spin cycle. There's absolutely NO reason for this to be happening except a DESIGN FLAW!!! This machine is going back ASAP. No amount of troubleshooting, service calls, leveling or "proper loading" of this machine will fix this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GE Washer Model# TG946963G I purchased this item 5 month ago. Let me first say, that it was broken upon delivery. Since delivery, I have had 2 mother boards replace, 2 lid locks and now the motor and transmission are leaking fluids. This thing is a piece of trash and needs to be replaced/RECALLED

Washer bouncing when in rinse going to spin cycle!

I purchased a GE washer from you last month.I love the washer but whenever it goes into the rinse cycle it bounces about before going into the spin cycle. The loads are not big and they are placed evenly when starting. What is causing this?
Asked by: mike
maybe it is not level on the floor i do not have that problem sometimes it will get unbalanced but it will balance itself and continue on with the cycle. maybe you should try a different cycle for amount of clothes or water
