Rated 1 out of 5 by from 90 minutes to dry towels Purchased this dryer in October. We have a serviceman coming tomorrow because it takes an average of 90 minutes to dry a load of towels. Lighter weight items take an extended amount of time also. It doesn't get hot! When I open the door to check mid cycle the temperature is only warm. So far we are very disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dryer so far I purchased this to replace a 30+ year old gas dryer that was on it's last legs. So far this dryer has met my expectations. I like having a light in the dryer (my old one did not have this feature), the adjustable volume for the end of cycle buzzer, extended spin at the end of the cycle, the capacity and the location of the lint filter in the door opening instead of on the top. The only cons I have are that I have to jiggle the lint filter a lot to get it to go back into the opening once I have cleaned it out, you really have to slam the door hard for it to stay closed after loading/unloading clothes. Occasionally my clothes fall out of the door when I open it and I would have preferred a hamper style door for this reason but I could not find one with the features I needed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Engineering design Have had unit 2 days. 1.) "walks" all over the floor - no rubber pads on the metal feet so it just "skids" across floor - just closing door causes it to skid across floor. GE engineers should have known metal feet "slide" on hard surfaces, which almost all laundry rooms have. 2.) The door switch that controls interior light, and stops the dryer when door is opened during drying cycle "sticks/binds" in closed position when unit is hot and therefore unit does not stop and becomes dangerous because the heat is still on and the drum is still turning. Switch works just fine when at room temperature. GE engineers did not take in account the coefficient of expansion of materials used for this switch (yes, I'm an engineer) so when hot, the switch does not "open" and stop the unit. 3.) I have a repairman coming to "fix" both issues, we'll see if they can. 4.) If these problems are rectified - this would be a great unit and I would recommend it..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No negative just could be better For the price point of this model, the filter should be more durable and robust. I see buying replacements within a year because we use it several times a week. It takes a long time to dry clothes out older one used to dry in about two thirds the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Black soot like particles all over the dryer There is black soot like fine particles lining the dryer. Seems to be coming from the lint vent - the lint is black/grey color. My white clothes have been turning greyish. Has anyone seen this. I wrote an email to the manufacturer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Just received my new gas dryer and did six loads last night. Could not be happier with this product. It not only looks good (modern design) but it also performed beautifully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Mom and I both have Mom and I both purchased it. Well built and can take a workout. My cousin who is a mechanic says it is the best one made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Straightforward design This Dryer dries your clothes effectively. Straightforward design; simple is good. I am hopeful this machine will last more than a decade like the last GE dryer it replaced.
