Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why the bad griddle design? This is an excellent range for the price. I chose it because of the two ovens. I want to get rid of my toaster oven (which takes up counter space in my small kistchen and is also very energy inefficient). But the griddle is so obviously poorly designed -- so far, that is my principal disappointment. Eliminate the grooves down the side. We are not a pancacke eating household, so will use the griddle only for other cooking. We would cook scrambled eggs daily on the griddle, except that they dribble down into the side channels. What a mess to clean up. Higher-end ranges have griddles with only the front and/or rear reservoir for grease, etc.--no need for these side channels! Change it up, GE. I have also had trouble with the oven. I will buy a thermometer and test it--so far, my recipes take significantly longer at called-for temps than in my old range. Cookies that are supposed to cook in 10-12 minutes take almost twice that long. Even when I use convection, the times are too long. Weird.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from One epic baking fail after another What better time to write a review that when you're exhausted, out of patience and have just ruined another perfectly good load of ingredients on a failed attempt in this high priced "all that" range? It's obvious after my tried and true recipes flop time and again that the temperature on both ovens is waaay out of line. I read the "biscuit test" with disbelief and disdain....really? If the biscuits aren't done, you need to calibrate? No kidding, Captain Obvious? How about you calibrate the darn thing in the factory before shipping it out? Grrr...So we find how to recalibrate, ok. Glad to find handy steps on how to do that. However, there's NO clue as to how to arrive at a true temperature other than the aforementioned "biscuit test". There's a friendly warning NOT to use a "grocery store" oven thermometer. What should I use GEnius? My HAND? Oh I know... I can bake 15 cans of biscuits adding 5 degrees to each batch times two ovens...yeah, I'll get right on that. Grrr...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Top of line oven !!! I bought this stove in March 2017. I have propane gas so there was a bit of work changing over certain parts so that I could use the propane. For those with natural gas (which is like everyone else) the stove is a quick hookup. I went with this model because I like the double oven feature. It just allows you to cook many more things at once which is a big time same for dinner. The quality of the stove speaks for itself. Everything from the burner covers, to the grates, to the knobs, and door hinges is top of the line and very high end. This is definitely a work horse type of oven and it also looks great in a modern kitchen or a more vintage 1960s design like mine. There are so many features on it reading the manual before use is definitely a good idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, Love this range!!! I absolutely love to cook and had always wanted a gas range. After looking at reviews, I had no doubt that this would be the one I would purchase. Even though it says dual fuel, it is primarily gas except for the convection feature. I had never used a gas oven but it is amazing to cook with!! The cake I baked using the convection oven came out better than I could of dreamed!! Even though the lower oven is low...the slide out rack makes it easy to use. I love the top oven which cooks perfect...just use a little lower temp for pizza to keep the crust from getting too brown. The grates on top make for easy clean up and the griddle is an extra plus. I would highly recommend this range for anyone who loves to cook!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Stuff is Awesome!!!!! So i had a microwave that hadnt cleaned in at least a year. Gross i know. Every time i looked in there i dreaded the thought of cleaning it. As you can tell in the before pictures (top and bottom left) it was a disaster zone. But with this magic stuff it wasn't even fives minutes til my microwave looked like new. I sprayed it in there and waited two minutes. I wiped it down worth a soft sponge and then dried it. And now look at that microwave!! :) Now on to my range, I'm writing this review as I'm cleaning. So far I'm letting it sit for five minutes because there is a ton of grease splatter. Five minutes are done. So i use the sponge and paper towel. This stuff is awesome!! Take a look at the before and after pictures. Top and bottom left are before. Top right is in the process and bottom right is after (keep in mind the brown/black rings around the burners are scorch marks, they can't be cleaned off). I love love love this stuff!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ovens are a disappointment The cooktops perform as expected. The upper oven always burns the edges of whatever is placed on the racks. The oven has heat slots on the left and right sides of the oven which direct superheated air directly under the left and right edges of cookie sheets or sheet pans. This burns whatever is being cooked. The lower oven, while convection is so low that for it to be the primary oven makes all oven cooking more effort than its worth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but install could be a problem I love the look and feel of this stove. It's gorgeous, works very well and is the jewel in the kitchen. That said, the architecture of the back panel leaves something to be desired. Our gas supply line came out of the floor on the right side of the stove cavity, but this particular unit is designed only for the gas line to come out of the floor on the left. We had to pay a guy to come out and move our gas line out of the way on order to not have a 4-6" gap behind the stove. Even so, we have about a 1" gap today, and that's after installing a recessed outlet to get the plug out of the way. You may want to check the placement of your gas line before purchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the small oven... I have had my range about 2 yrs now and noticed a couple of quirks that may only be relevant to my unit: 1. Getting anywhere near the electronic panel in the front - not touching it mind you, may cause the oven light to go on, or it may just beep. 2. Cooktop burner grate is not completely level on the front right side - not so much that the pan rocks (though it does a bit), but enough to show that oil in a fry pan is deeper on one side. 3. Also if you do not reset the burners perfectly after cleaning you will get too much flame on one side - something to watch for. 4. For a slide in range there should be more recess space for the gas valve. My unit sits 2 1/2" away from the wall - which might just be a good place for a shelf. Just something to consider for where you want the plumber to put the valve. It seems counter-intuitive to me to have both the smaller burners at the rear of the stove. The larger simmer burner should be in the back and one of the smaller ones in the front, else you will be reaching over a large pot to get to the small one. Wish List: Enameled grates. I had mine enameled by a 3rd party who restores old stoves and they are fantastic to clean and look great too. Cost about as much as purchasing new grates, but worth it to me. Bottom line? I still love my new range - but maybe a designer will read this!

Can I use this with propane gas?

Asked by: Rkay
Hi Rkay- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing our Café Series! Yes, this range will operate on LP gas. This range leaves the factory set for use with Natural gas. If you want to convert to LP gas, the conversion must be preformed by a qualified LP gas installer. The LP gas conversion kit and instructions are included with the range. Thanks for checking with us!
