Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glass top chips easily I've only been using my induction cooktop for six weeks and loved it until last night. After drying a cooking pot, I was sliding it on the counter next to the cook top and it barely touched the front corner of the cooktop and the glass cooktop cracked. A 3 inch long thin piece cracked off the corner. It didn't even make a noise as there was only light contact with the corner. I am shocked that the glass is not more durable than that. Additionally, I am amazed that if it breaks that easily that GE continues to make it like this and that there is not a huge customer revolt. I now see why other manufacturers put stainless steel trim around their cooktops. So disappointed in this. The glass is very thin on the edge of the cooktop. GE needs to reconsider the design of this cooktop for true functionality of a real cook rather than just the looks of it. I love how this cooktop cooks, but because of this design issue I will not recommend this to anyone until they fix this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and so fast! Have only been using it for a short time but I love the look and functionality. The timer is a nice feature as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great but failed once We very much enjoy this unit as our first induction cooktop. It looks great and performance is as expected. I agree with some of the critical comments on the installation instructions as not specific to this item but common sense should have you work through it easily. Also agree on the cutoff size being a little bit off as the size is a hair less than indicated. As a result I have the uncomfortable impression that the unit is holding by the cover glass as opposed to the metal lip so am hesitant to put too much weight on it. My biggest concern though is that three months after install, the two lateral zones stopped working (woke up one morning and both zones had fried control panels and the breaker had tripped). This was fixed under the one year warranty but now I am hesitant to dismiss the extended warranty offers on this item. I have seen only one review reporting similar issue so hard to say if I was unlucky at this point. Because of that I would not recommend to a friend, although I very much enjoy the product..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective product I began using my new GE induction cooktop on 7/21/2016. Eight days later, two burners began to cut off after a minute of cooking. I would turn them on and they would work for one minute, then cut off, repeatedly. It was repaired under he GE warranty and, the same evening, all 5 burners began to cut off after one minute of cooking. All new parts were installed, and when the repairmen tried to turn on the cooktop, it would not work at all and never again came on. Finally, 7 weeks after the first burner failure, GE replaced the cooktop with the same model. That was 9/23/2016. Now, as of 10/18/2016, burners have cut off seven times, and are now cutting off daily. I love induction, but this product has engineering problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good cooktop Bought this to replace an old cooktop. I love the controls and how quickly the induction elements start heating the food. Three minor points kept me from giving it 5 stars. First is the unit hum rather loudly and you can hear the cooling fans too. Second the cooktop is broken down into 3 zones, if you use both elements in the same zone then power gets reduced. Not really a big deal as you can spread out to the other two zones and I'm unlikely to be have more than three things cooking at full power anyway. And Third the left side elements are only connected in that they have their power level connected. There is no bridge element so a large oval pan sitting over the burners will only heat on the ends, not in the middle too. Overall, very happy with the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than cooking with Gas!! After living with a traditional electric cooktop and disliking it greatly, it's been great transitioning to an Induction Cooktop. Liquids come to a boil within seconds, I am able to manage heat instantly by resetting the controls, and food cooks exactly as I wish. After a short learning curve of learning the controls, it has become very easy to use. The digital controls are easy to work, and the two burners that can be bridged make it very efficient to work with larger pans. The cooktop looks great on our counter and is very easy to keep clean. The only drawback has been the need to replace many of our old pots and pans as they were stainless steel and thus non usable on the induction cooktop. Even this isn't so bad- we have upgraded our pots! I would highly recommend this, especially to those who are used to cooking with gas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Cook Top It is the greatest induction cooktop in terms of its function and price. We did a lot of study and research before we decided to change our very powerful Monogram Gas cooktop to induction When GE finally came with this model last year, with all the accessories such as the precise temperature probe allows you to cook sous vide , and the griddle for various cooking etc. This new cooktop has an internet function that makes it connect with you 24/7 through your mobile device. Now, cooking is not only a joy but also give you a high-tech feel. You are really living in 21st century. The glass top design is another amazing deco in your kitchen. It enhances your kitchen design and goes very well with all kind of counter top. As a conclusion, it is a fabulous appliances which can lead Americans to a higher level of living standard. Thank you, GE crews for your great invention.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Basically useless appliance Burners will not stay on. Even after we purchased all new Induction Cookware made for induction cooktops. We had several pots and pans that were magnetic but thought they were the problem so we spent hundreds of dollars after we were told our original cookware was the issue. To cook anything we have to stand and turn the burners back on maybe ten times. The repairman said maybe water is the issue. Really!! Imagine a kitchen with zero water and no humidity. Very typical of GE products in the last couple years. I have cell phone videos of this cooktop just shutting off while in use.
