Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I bought this washer as an alternative to the two front loaders I owned previously. The tub is very large but is a bit higher than other washers I considered. I'm 5'3 and can reach to the bottom of the tub of this GE. Its a great looking machine. As with any of these high efficiency washers, don't let the large tub fool you. If you overload it, you will have trouble getting your clothes clean. I would also suggest using the appropriate wash cycle unless you are in a real hurry. It just gets the clothes cleaner. The dryer is pretty nice also but a dryer is a dryer to me. The video on the website says that the washer "speaks" to the dryer to let it know what dry cycle to use for this load but haven't figured that one out yet. I'm happy with my purchase so far. Definitely the large tub that is accessible by a short person was the most attractive feature for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good, but... We purchased the first washer last year. It was replaced after 6 months due to multiple issues - clothes coming out partially dry, soap residue being left on clothes, top discolored, and a bad mother board). The replacement machine is no better and suffers from the same shortfalls as the original, plus a couple additional ones (fabric softener dispenser doesn't work (when the cleaning cycle was run the machine overflowed fabric softener onto the floor) and clothes are coming out knotted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Deserves a zero Worst washer I've ever owned. Even though I use the HE detergent and softener, my dark clothes come out with white residue. I always have to run them through a second cycle with no detergent or softener to try to get them rinsed. And that doesn't always work. How efficient is that??!!! Hate it!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Clothes come out dirty with lines of dirt! Sometimes I use the rinse cycle a 2nd time & they still come out bad. I hate washing & this washer makes it dreadful!! I used the trouble shooting tips & they don't work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Noisier than I wanted Rated as very quiet. I think vibrates and shakes way too much for a modern appliance. Had it checked out. Was told was normal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features This washer is unlike any I have had. It has great capacity, uses just enough water, can do bigger loads than I thought and I like the fact I don't have to set the water level as it does it for you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this washer to replace another brand top loader that was recalled. This machine squeals and makes a lot more noise. I have also found that there is a lot is soap residue left on clothes and am constantly running extra rinse cycles to mitigate. I do like the size of the tub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cleaning up These are really nice appliances. They both work really well getting the clothes clean and look really sharp! I love the interior lighting!

If I overfill the bleach dispenser, it empties. Where does it go- to drain/outside, to the wash basket, or to a holding area to be added to next cycle

Asked by: JMeade
Thank you Sue - I keep getting bleach spots on clothing that I was able to bleach in my last washing machine without a problem (Whirlpool HE Top Loader). I think it just needs to be diluted more or needs to be mixed around once bleach has been added. Can I add water to the bleach dispenser until it empties, then add the bleach and it will all get added to the cycle together assuming I have selected the bleach option?

Where is the bleach dispenser - how and where specifically is it added to the wash cycle?

Bleach spots on my clothes
Asked by: JMeade
Hi JMeade- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are happy to help! The bleach dispenser is conveniently located just under the lid on the left side of the washer basket. Before starting the washer, pour measured amount of liquid bleach directly into bleach compartment. The liquid will be added at the optimal time in the wash cycle. The water fill dilutes liquid chlorine bleach as the washer fills for the wash cycle. For reference and illustration, see page 7 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90537-2.pdf- We hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us!
