Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed We just built a new home, moved in Nov. 2015 and had all GE-Profile appliances installed. Our original microwave has lasted 17 months! Because trim kits change with each model, we've decided to buy 2 microwaves this time, keeping one for a spare. No the original microwave could not be repaired, magnetron plus service call equals new microwave.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Last one was a real dog. Had to replace same that was 11 years old and repaired 5 times. Hopefully this one won't be as awful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Door issues Our first GE Profile lasted 7 years. Do not buy this new model. It was installed on May 26, 2017, and because the door would not properly latch each time that we tried to close it, (it kept popping back open--often neither of the latches would catch) we had the installer come back out to make sure that it was not an installation issue. No, the installer said it was the microwave design issue. We requested a replacement. Another one was installed on June 1. After the hassle of scheduling and so on, we are keeping this one so far, despite the fact that the door still does not close properly. While the door does not pop open, sometimes the top "latch" still does not catch and if it does not catch, you know because the microwave light stays on, plus it will not operate. This is annoying but not a deal breaker due to the hassle of getting yet another one that will fit our space. I suggest that the engineers redesign the door closing mechanism.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flimsy Door Latch I like the unit overall and especially the quiet fan. What I don't like is the flimsy feeling door/door latch. My unit is at head height on a shelf so the door is a definite bumping issue. You can't get the door closed by simply shutting the door by pushing unless your fingers are in the middle between the two latch hooks. That's hard to do when you have both hands committed to a hot casserole! This wasn't the case with the previous Profile unit--an elbow anywhere on the door served very nicely to get the door closed and clear the aisle to move to a counter. Yes, I would recommend the unit--with a warning--to anyone.
