Rated 1 out of 5 by from Door issues Our first GE Profile lasted 7 years. Do not buy this new model. It was installed on May 26, 2017, and because the door would not properly latch each time that we tried to close it, (it kept popping back open--often neither of the latches would catch) we had the installer come back out to make sure that it was not an installation issue. No, the installer said it was the microwave design issue. We requested a replacement. Another one was installed on June 1. After the hassle of scheduling and so on, we are keeping this one so far, despite the fact that the door still does not close properly. While the door does not pop open, sometimes the top "latch" still does not catch and if it does not catch, you know because the microwave light stays on, plus it will not operate. This is annoying but not a deal breaker due to the hassle of getting yet another one that will fit our space. I suggest that the engineers redesign the door closing mechanism.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pathetic Experience I have never come across a situation when microwave goes bad in my past 7-8 years. But, this is a brand new one which was installed by my builder and it is not working now. There are many other houses in which same microwave was installed which is not working.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Microwave is solid The microwave is good solid microwave. Does what you would expect, so not sure what to add to that. However, if you want to use it as a built in, the optional kit for making it a built in, is cheaply designed, and not well thought through, so I will focus there. If I were to review the kit by itself... One star. Cheaply made, flexy (not like my previous stainless steel frame, this thing is plasticy with a thin SS overlay. To affix the frame to the rest of the kit, you have to align screws in a very not comfortable, or easy way, especially considering if you are doing it as a built in, there is a good chance its above your stove, as it was for me. This means lots of dropping of screws, finding of short screw drivers, one person screws, while a second pushes the frame to align with the hole, and god forbid you ever need to take it out (like maybe it flips the surge protector due to a power surge...) Just sayin, Also after installed, you can see little dimples in the corners of the inside of the fame. Cheap stuff. But again, this review is mainly of the microwave. It works well... <venting off>

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Have to go with it. This is the second time I'm getting this appliance. I have to go with it to match the frame and size of the existing cabinet. Ours is the new construction, so the builder installed it. It's being 4 years now, and once in every year we have to call the technician to fix problem. Finally, when it came up this year, I've decided to get rid of it. Always the problem used to be with parts behind the number panel. I've no idea what exactly the part is. An order need to be placed for the broken parts and have to wait for a month. After the parts arrive, again wait for the technician's appointment. I have to depend on a cheaper microwave which sits on the counter top for more than a month. Couple of times the parts are back ordered and Just imagine the wait time. However, when it works, it's perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and sleek looking I love this Microwave - it is built in and easy for the kids to use - with instruction and supervision of course.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works but I don't love it. It works perfectly fine as for cooking and heating. But, I don't like some of its programming. I hate that every time you push a number it gives you express cooking - ie - press 10 (like you want 10 seconds) and you get express 10 minutes. If you want to put in your own time, you have to hit Cook Time first. Express should only be for a couple minutes. More importantly - it does not have a soften/melt button. As a baker, I really miss that pre-programmed button and often end up over cooking when trying to melt. And, I still have no idea what the My Plate button is supposed to do or how to program that. I do like the vegetable button - seems to cook fresh vegetables just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced GE Profile Microwave A couple weeks ago our old GE Profile Microwave went out and since it was built in above my oven I wanted to replace it with the same identical model. Could not find the exact model number on line, therefore I called the GE office and was given the replacement model which I had to order on line and also had to order and replace the inside frame that the Microwave would sit on inside the opening. I was very concerned about the new product fitting where the old one was and also the bracket assembly that was to be screwed into the cabinet. I took the frame out of the packing and placed it in the opening where the old frame was unscrewed from the cabinet and the old screw holes were exactly perfect for the new frame, within minutes I had assembled the new Microwave and bracket and everything was working great. Thanks to the GE representative for the help in getting the replacement that I needed.
