Rated 4 out of 5 by from Serves its purpose Been using this cooktop for 4 months. It heats up quickly at the various temperature settings and has worked well thus far. It gets dirty very easily so you almost have to clean it after every use. Not sure if it's worth the price

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well unit works well. need to lower temp on lowest settings, including melt - difficult to maintain a simmer. difficult to keep clean. think a white and black background (speckled) would be easier to keep clean of spatters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but is expensive I bought this cooktop to replace another one that I had dropped a pot on, which shattered the cooktop. It's a fine appliance. I just don't understand why it has to be so expensive just because it is a downdraft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our 10 year old one shattered. This one was the same except for the on off switch for the cooktop. Install was quick and easy since we replaced using same model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm Wowed This is the 2nd GE Cooktop we've owned. Our original cooktop was in excellent working condition, but after 15 years in our home and a kitchen upgrade we decided to upgrade our cooktop too. I find this unit much easier to clean and keep clean than the original unit we selected when we built our home. The look is sleek and modern. It works very well and has more options than our original one. I am very careful with what I use to clean it, and did read the "User's Manual" to follow the recommended cookware suggestions. It looks like it was just installed even though it is 3 months old. Before purchasing this cooktop I did read the reviews others had written, just to see what the comments were. Since our previous cooktop preformed without any issues for over 15 years, I took the negative comments with a grain of salt and went with my instincts and purchased another GE Cooktop with confidence. A product performs as well as it is treated, with care it should last a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Item Pleased with this purchase so far. We have had this product for 30 days and it has been an improvement over our worn out down draft. Positives are that it looks great and works well. It heats much faster than our old unit. Negatives would be more difficult to keep clean and was a more complicated install than I realized trying to match up to the existing ductwork. We are pleased with our purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did what I needed it to do I replaced a coil-burner cook top that had a built-in downdraft, so I needed a similar form factor. There were few choices but I'm happy with this one. It cooks hot compared to my last one, but that may say more about my old one than this one. Something I hadn't appreciated about the difference between coils and flat tops: coils do conform to your pan bottoms a bit to make better contact. Now I know which of my pans are warped. The complaints from other reviews about difficulty keeping it clean have some merit, but the cook top cleaning product that they include does work, so I can get it beautifully shiny. Some small scratches already but I guess that's inevitable. One complaint; the temperature markings are faint- they are non-intrusive when looking at the shiny top but hard to read when cooking. Also, I have to educate guests on how the knobs controls work and what the lights mean. (Watch guests or they may heat more surface than they realize). A one-time annoyance, we had to rebuild the connection from the downdraft to the outflow, which required some custom metal bending. Still, much less cost than getting a separate downdraft vent, and much less reengineering to make a separate vent fit my counter.
