Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laundrycenter Purchased this laundrycenter about 2 months ago to replace an old one which broke down. Couldn't be happier with the performance. Clothes dry more quickly, larger capacity in both washer and dryer than expected for the size of the machine. A little larger than our prior machine so it sticks out a little more. Would recommend to anyone who has space constraints. Pretty quiet too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We'll See...I've had it for a day now The first one I got was a lemon. Sharp plastic trim in the dryer snagging clothes and a rattling loose bolt on the water pump. Someone in QC was apparently asleep. Second one seems to work fine so far. Machine is quiet, gets clothes clean and dryer works well. Like the fact that the water temp is computer controlled. Don't like the fact that the tub is so loosely sprung. I assume this is why the machine spends much of it's time trying to determine if the load is balanced enough to spin at full speed when doing medium to large loads. It's also kind of ridiculous that there are labels that you take off after installation and they don't come off easily. Spend the extra dime for better labels so I don't have to spend the first 30 minutes of ownership scraping them off. Makes me wonder if anything else about the machine was done on the cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, yet Large Capacity washer and Dryer Just purchaced this unit and I love it. It is queit, has a very large wash basket, and the dryer is large as well. Lid locks during spin cycles. It is a vertical agitator like the old fashoned machines our moms had, instead of the new low water no agitator type all over the market now. It spins really well, and dries the clothes excellent. The dail is not a timer type that moves, it is pre set and uses a computer board to determine the agitation, wash and spin times so don't think something is wrong if you don't see a dial moving like an old machine type. You will be pleaseantly surprized by this unit and I feel for the money it is a great buy if you have limited space and cannot have a side by side install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Washer, Dryer could be better I got this unit 5 months ago. Overall I like it very much, but there are a few issues with the dryer that appear to be quality control issues. The first unit I got was defective, the washer making a horrible vibrating sound. It may have been dropped or something, so I'll give GE the benefit of the doubt for that. It's important to note however, that I had the same problem with the dryer on the replacement as well. Specifically, anything with drawstrings or tassels has a good likelihood of getting caught in between the drum and a plastic trim piece around the 1 o'clock position. This of course twists the drawstring until it pulls loose or breaks, ruining the garment. I've gotten around this by drying items with drawstrings and the like in washing bags to protect them. This plastic trim piece has a few rough edges and burrs, and has a generally poor fit, so it could be a quality control problem. The same plastic is used in the lint screen frame. It too has rough, sharp corners and edges that tend to catch lint, requiring you to vacuum out the lint screen frame and it's receptacle after every 8 or so loads. My mom's dryer from 1968 had a better lint trap design....this is just poor design and quality. The dryer is big and dries well, however. No complaints there. The Washer does a great job, even with big loads. You do have to occasionally have to re-balance a load for it to spin correctly. I wonder in this day and age why it just keeps trying to spin, making a racket instead of stopping with a beep to warn you. 1968 lives on in that respect. I like the electronically controlled water temperature. Hot is Hot, Warm is Warm, Cold is Cold regardless of the water pressure. The "Deep Rinse" is kind of a funny feature. Turn it off if you want the possibility of soap in your clothes, I guess. The machine seems q=well-built. I hope it lasts as long as the last one I bought 8 years ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best one so far..... I have lived in my condo for over 20 years, and it has a a space for a compact stackable washer dryer. I have probably tried every brand out there, and for the most part I have been unhappy with all of them. This one is by far the best. Pros: the capacity is bigger than my previous ones. It is the most quiet one I have owned. It cleans gently - some of my other ones agitated very aggressively and I know that is not kind to my clothes. Cons: the dryer could be a bit better. I can see moisture collecting on the door when I open the door mid - drying which I have never seen happen before. But the clothes do dry :) Frankly I have never been particularly happy with any of the dryers - they all take a long time time to dry the clothes. This one is a bit better. Hint: make sure you get your dryer vent cleaned regularly as that seems to help. Also the the lint collector could be improved. Some of my other w/d's had lint collectors that had better lint collection ability. (all in the design)! Regardless, this one is my favorite of all the zillion ones I have owned. I would give it 5 stars if the dryer were a bit better. Again - it still beats the other I have owned hands down!
