Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I ordered shades similar to these 15 years ago. It was time to replace them. I found these at JCPenny and they looked like they were comparable. Not the quality I had hoped for. Upon opening the package one of them was dirty with fingerprints. Also, the silicone packing material had opened and tiny little beads fell out of the box all over my rug. In two areas the loops are not tied properly and should be fixed. Once we hung them up that's when the nightmare began. After drilling the mount to the wall, the shades would not stay in place. We have adjusted these several times since we installed them less than a week ago. The tension keeps loosening and the shade falls all the way down to the sill after a couple of uses. Very frustrating. We are torn about returning them since we have already drilled the hardware into the walls and would have to remove them and make new holes for new ones we purchase . Unfortunately if we can't get this to work, we will have to do just that

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lovely, but 1 out of 3 is nonfunctional I ordered 3 shades for my daughter's bedroom after one we had bought from JCP a decade ago broke. I bought the insulating black out ones with the pretty fringe, for an upgrade. The new ones came, but the longer one had a slight bend in it, and did not roll properly when installed. We installed a second shorter one on another window, and it worked. I have hesitated to install the 3rd shade because I was worried it might not work. (One works, one does not work.) Why take down something that works and put up a new one that might not, even if it matches the other two in the room? Then, last night, the first one installed gave way and fell on top of me as I was pulling it down. We have had it less than 1 month. Lovely but non- functional. Glad it fell one and not my daughter. I think it is a factory defect issue, because it looked slightly warped on arrival. I am going to try to return it to the local store this week, and perhaps swap for a new one. The previous shades, also bought from JCP lasted more than a decade before one broke.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sloppy work I ordered 2 shades that were cut to my specifications but the edge that was cut was sloppy and jagged. You could see the exact cut marks. The roller on one of them was bent so it rolled lopsided and had to go back. I know it didn't happen in transit because the box wasn't bent. I was very disappointed. The only thing I could find that was good was the hardware. The quality of that was excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Shades The shades arrived sooner than expected. They were well made and appeared to be good quality materialsThe mounting brackets that came with them were a little different than we were used to. The tension end of the shade has a square bar that fits into a square hole in the bracket on that side. The other end of the shade has about a quarter inch diameter round extension that fits into a hole on the other mounting bracket. The bracket has a little lever that opens it up to allow the rod to be placed in the hole for it and then snaps shut. The mounting brackets take up about a half inch of space on each side of the shade between the shade and the sides of the window frame. It appears the width measurement that you send in for the shade is supposed to be from the edge of the window frame on one side to the edge on the other side as shown in the drawing available in the on line ordering information. In the ordering process you are asked to make your measurement to the nearest quarter inch. The shades we got were cut within a quarter inch of the measurement we gave them. Fortunately we did not have to have them match our measurements exactly. We installed the shades as a do it yourself project with minimal difficulty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easily installed I did it myself 67 years young quality was what I expected from JC Penney I am 67 yrs young I found the Installation Instructions were easy after reading the directions. The shades are beautiful and the color really fits in my room decor it was a beautiful shade of Grey. As usual, the quality and durability of JC Penney products are above expectation. I have been a customer for about 40 years and have never been disappointed in any item that I have purchased. Continue the good work. Best wishes in the future

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fringed shade lives up to its reviews: average If you want a fringed roller shade, this is the only choice I found. The Durability will reveal itself with time. The shade cut on the side was not the best, yet I can live with it under curtains/drapes. The fringe was fine on two shades and acceptable after I modified it on the third shade. This shade lived up to the expectations set by the reviews I had read. The installation was as easy as other shades I have installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant looking shade. This is a pretty shade. The scallops and fringe add an understated elegant look to the window. Be careful measuring for the bracket placement as the left bracket is recessed into the blind a bit. The only negative is the side of the blind where it was cut to width is somewhat jagged, not a clean cut. My curtains cover it so I am not worried about it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor cut and stitching I had ordered some of these years ago and loved them, so I decided to order again for our new house. When I went to hang the shades, I noticed the stitching was unraveling and the cut was awful and jagged. I was so disappointed in the qaulity of this product.

How exactly do I measure the width when REODERING a roller shade?

Do I measure from roller tip to roller tip? Do I measure from barrel end to barrel end? Or do I measure from shade edge to shade edge? Thank you.
Asked by: Mark
I think you measure from roller tip from roller tip. I have re-ordered before. I know it doesn't say this on the buyer guide - don't know why they're telling you to see that when it doesn't answer the question!

Side Mount or Top Mount?

When installing these shades, can they be installed from the top of the window frame or just the side of the window frame?
Asked by: Theresa
We installed ours over the top of our window! Very pleased with how things turned out!

When I am choosing a width for the shade, how much should I subtract from the measured width in order to account for width of the mounting hardware?

Other brands say "1/8" width, for example. This one does not say.

What do I need to measure to get width and length for a pull shade?

I'm not sure what to measure for shade width. I am replacing shades already installed. Do I measure the window opening width or distance between mounting brackets or width of the shade roller or width of the shade fabric. The shade is mounted inside the window frame?
Asked by: JBH1
On the product it has a helpful guide for you to use when it comes to measuring shades.

How do u order a custom blind to be cut. I need 14X55 and 28X55. The length doesn't matter but the width does.

Asked by: Grannyz
For custom fit, subtract 1/8" from either side for inside mount and that is the size you will order.
