Rated 1 out of 5 by from Manufacturer has problems I have ordered these shades 3 times now. The first time 1 out of 7 was the correct size. So I t returned 6 and reordered. This time all 6 were the correct size but 3 of them were bowed because the inners are made of cardboard. So I'm going for the trifecta and hoping the 3rd time's a charm. You can't make this stuff up. You definitely get what you pay for and I really didn't want to spend too much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Window Shades Purchased 4, then a 5th one, and will purchase additional for all of our windows. The first 4 were in our sun room, and the temperature in the entire home is down considerably. Thanks again so much, Judy and Richard

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible and cheap! These are, without a doubt, the worst shades I've ever purchased! Ordered 2 of these. Not only is the core made of cardboard but they won't roll up. There are instructions to tighten the spring action, which I did, and they still pull all the way down. You have to struggle to get them up by hand. The plastic bracket that goes on the right side of the window is weird and not easy to insert the stem at the end of the roller. I was able to get one shade installed but the other shade, the round part of the left bracket completely broke off and the right plastic bracket broke as well. Am returning these as is. This will be the 3rd purchase from JC Penney I've had to return this week! Never again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible quality At first I thought it was damaged in shipping. Not exactly the case. Found in looking back on reviews that the product is seriously defective. You would think that with such bad reviews JCP would stop selling the product. Did not read the reviews first because I didn't think it was important. JCP arranged for pick up of the product but left me with the cost to repair my window trim where the mounting screws had to be placed. Wood filler , Pint of Trim paint , sand paper and a paint brush cost almost as much as the shade. I am so not very happy that I JCP continues to sell such a defective product. Any product with bad reviews like this should be taken off the site.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Something changed! We did our entire house in the Chelsea shades years ago through JCPenney, and they were wonderful, have held up well, and were a great value. HOWEVER, we recently needed to replace one and something has definitely changed. The hardware was even different. 1st order came in defective, 2nd order came in defective, after reading other reviews, I refused to order a 3rd time. Was so disappointed, because they had a really great product years ago. I would just like to stress, the customer service in handling the multiple purchases and returns was fantastic. Only wish the product had met previous expectations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not cut to correct size, bracket broke 2 months in Have bought all my blinds from JCP with no problems except these. Ordered using same measurements as other blinds from JCP but these were cut shorter so the blind barely reaches into the brackets. Now on one blind the bracket rivets broke and their policy is to bring the entire shade into a store so they can reorder me a new one instead of just sending a new bracket. What a waste.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality! I purchased two of these 30 days ago and the roller in one is already non-functional. Will return and hopefully get a replacement. I have purchased many roll up blinds in the past from JC Penny and they were good quality. These are horrible!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well blocking out light I work night shift, this shade blocks out light well so I can sleep. Easy to roll up and down. Easy to install. Shade is thick and durable. I would recommend this product as the price and quality are very good.

Does this window shade use the old-style brackets? Other shade models I have purchased (#7360442) in the past are sold out in the size I need.

Asked by: Miles

In your window shade size options does 48-55.75W x 64L mean that the maximum available width is 55 3/4" wide ?

Asked by: Jack
Yes, that is the maximum width of the shade.. Also need to add 1/2 inch to the shade width you want.

You didn't answer my question: Are they the old-style brackets as used in item #7360442 (now out of stock).

Of course they come with brackets. What kind of brackets? I want a new blind I can just "drop in" my old brackets already in place. I've tried one new model where the brackets are much different, much larger, and will not work for me.
Asked by: Miles
No it has it''s own bracket. Could not drop in the old ones

Is it necessary to subtract a specific fraction of an inch to account for mounting hardware?

For example, when ordering the Saratoga shades, it is necessary to subtract 1/8 inch from the window size so that the mounting hardware will fit.
Asked by: Tiff
Add 1/2 inch extra to the width of the shade you want.
