Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Blinds but three things to know These blinds are very similar in quality to roller shades made by other well known and much more expensive brand names. A few things to know. For outside mount, the clamps stick out longer than the valiance and the clamps are silver in color. This hurts the overall look. At the least clamps should match the color or be shorter (we have white). It looks like for inside mount, you probably won't see the clamp at all which is much better. The cord is also silver in color. Not a big deal but nice if it matched The last thing to note is that huge warning stickers are placed at the bottom of the blind that are outward facing. They are difficult to take off and leave a residue. Note that delivery is also two months

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these blinds I took a chance and ordered these blinds for our entire main floor without seeing a sample and they look great. They are a very affordable alternative to the name brand version. We went with the light gray to match our trim and have had them installed for over 6 months now. We have had zero issues with the fabric or hardware. The other reviews are correct in that they are only light filtering. We will be adding curtains in the bedroom. Although these blinds are not blackout, when they are closed you can't see through them. They do offer full privacy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High end look I ordered this same blind from a well know blind retailer and the price quoted was $102 more per window for the size that I needed. I immediately cancelled my order and ordered them from JCPenneys. The look is nice and clean. I am truly happy with the quality and unique look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality appearance for a great price! I was nervous to purchase these because I could not obtain color samples and it is not returnable. I called the coroporate office, talked to Penny's interior designer and called Springer fashions. I ordered beige, despite the yellowish online version that looks identical to the "ivory" online. It came in a true beige. The mechanism is steel rollerball chain (not plastic) and it operates smoothly. The best part is the upscale appearance and different shading/privacy options and looks. It is comparable to hotel versions at the best prices on the market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy I was nervous about ordering these, because my windows are replacements, and are only 1.75" deep, and the ad says "Window must be at least 3¼" deep for inside mount; 3¾" deep for inside flush mount." Since this is much deeper than other similar products, including the ready made sizes of the exact same shade from JC Penney, I called and asked. I was told it was a typo, but I was nervous until they came in and we installed them. They fit flush mounted, or close to it on our 1.75" deep windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and fresh look to these shades We just installed these shades in our living and dining rooms and I couldn't be more pleased. They are exactly what I hoped they would be - fresh looking, sophisticated, and so different than what we had previously. While the install wasn't complicated, it took a bit of muscle to insert the shades into the clip (our is inside mount). Since we installed them in the early evening, we had an opportunity to see that they were not 'see thru', and I can't wait to enjoy them in the daylight hours. Love, love, love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value - Worth the Wait Very sophisticated look for an inexpensive window treatment. Fits any decor regardless of contemporary, transitional, or traditional. Filters light in, but gives privacy, too. A nice change from the old "blinds", yet also works well with draperies, too. Be sure to purchase them when "blinds" are on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look great! Bought these for our master bedroom in white. These are NOT blackout shades and still filter a good amount of light in at least in white color. We live in a wooded area, so the lack of light blockage is not a problem for us. If you want a shade that looks unique, contemporary, and it easy to use/install, this is it. Received lots of complements since these have been up. We did mount them outside due to very very narrow window frames. Overall, great quality and look great!

are these shades room darkening

Looking for shades for the bed room. Want it to be as dark as possible.

Very slightly....probably depending on the color, too.

I'm wondering how much privacy they provide from the outside when shade is down but slats are angled to see out. My large window faces a busy street.

Asked by: Jean
You will see clearly through the lines that are open. Once the shades are drawn, you can't see in at all. Only lets some light through at daytime.

Would these hang well on a French door as an outside mount? The illustrations only show inside mount.

Asked by: Missy
I wouldn't recommend them for this use.

How can I see the actual color sample. Do you provide swatches or are they availble in store?

Asked by: Jaye
Try calling the corporate buying office. I doubt if they have swatches, but might be able to order one from the manufacturer in China (which will take a LONG time).
