Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality for the Price I wanted nice looking light filtering shades. I did some research and decided on cellular shades because they met most of my needs (light filtering, no strings since I have young children, easy to install). JCPenney ended up having the best price for a comparable item, and I'm happy with the outcome. They are attractive, do the job, and they're very easy to use. Install was more of a pain that anticipated. Install tip: When installing the brackets do NOT put the back edge flush to the window or wall. This bracket needs to move backward in order for the shade to snap in. The directions say that you should use one screw in the top and the back, but when you do that, the shade will not snap into place. 30 minutes and a lot of sweat went in before I realized this. However the shade is still very stable with both screws in the the top of the bracket. This review was written for the Sweepstakes Entry #sweepstakesentry

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nearly impossible to hang While the quality of the shade or durability is something I cannot attest to I could not snap them into the brackets. Four other people tried, 2 of which were men in my family and none of us could get them up. I pulled a muscle in my neck reaching up and pushing and ended up in urgent care the next day. I finally told everyone to forget it, it wasn't worth getting hurt. I think the problem is with the quality of the top of the shade and not being sturdy enough to push without it bending and not strong enough to snap into the bracket. I bought $800 worth of shades for my new home, but this was the only one I couldn't hang. It was different than the others. I loved the other shades though. They went up so easily and so quickly that it took less time to hang all the other 13 shades, than this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How to clip into brackets Great quality for blinds. Look very nice. Did not give 5 stars due to trying to figure out how to clip the shade onto the brackets. Easy once you figure it out. For top mount only use one screw in either placement. Do not tighten. Leave slightly loose. Then pull blind out a ways, stand behind the blind with your back against the window and looking at the back side of the blind. clip the front on the front of the bracket and start with one bracket and push on the edge of the header pushing it up into the bracket. Continue until you have them all clipped. Trust me pushing the whole blind up into the bracket with force will not work. My husband is a Marine and has plenty of brawn and couldn't get it clipped by using force. Hope that helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So happy with our cellular shades!!! We moved into a new home and did not want to use the faux wooden blinds as in our old house. We measured the 26 windows and put the order in online. We purchased them in fresh linen, which is a light coco color. My husband needed to trim a few of them at the bottom, but this was a window issue, not the blind issue. They look great!!!. They give us total privacy while allowing the light to filter in. Only concern is to be sure you measure right and that you want them because they are not refundable. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I was hoping for I got these custom cut for my dining room. I usually like to let the light come in, but there are a couple times a day when the sun is too direct and intense. I was hoping to retain the light, but stop the sun from blinding my kids at the table. These blinds are perfect! They are nice looking, were easy to hang (once we figured out which anchors to get from the hardware store), and work really well (going up and down). I was a bit concerned that the length would look awkward since the shortest option was twice as long as I needed, but it looks great anyway. I've only had them two weeks, so can't rate durability, but I'm pleased enough that I plan to get these for another room soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blinds on the Cheap that Work! When the cordless mini blind in my kitchen broke on one side and looked 'ratched' as one of the kids said, I went on a quest to find a easy to use and inexpensive replacement. I have cats, and naturally did not want to use a pricey blind. It just needed to be light, easy to hang, in a neutral color, and go up and down without a problem. This blind needed to block direct sunlight in the afternoon, too, for cooling purposes. These blinds did the job. The price was right, I was able to hang them myself (with a little help from a tall friend), and they look decent. The "Linen" color is a bit more tan/light brown than I expected, but it works fine against my yellow walls. Understand what you are buying - these are LIGHT and CHEAP, but extremely functional. The header and footer are plastic. Pros: price, ease of installation, light weight, neutral colors. Cons: cheap fabric, large plastic footer. four of five stars, recommend, and would buy again, on sale though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price and easy to install I measured and installed these myself and they fit perfectly. Look great and easy to install if you have a drill. Light comes in but gives total privacy. I chose white and they do not darken the room but keeps direct sunlight out. Would recommend to anyone who wants a simple look and privacy without spending a lot. Time to install, about 30 minutes. Hardest part is getting out of the shipping carton. I did an "inside installation". I just marked the holes on the fitting, drilled and installed. I am not that "handy" so was happy that it was easy and quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, simple to use In our previous home we had another version of these blinds and appreciated their insulating power. This time we purchased the "pull down" version and are even more pleased. Our only "plaint" is that a template could have been provided in addition to the instructions which were included in the tiny box marked "Hardware Box" which could easily have been overlooked. The outer side of the blinds was white, rather than colored. Although this is not noted in the description we were pleased since our building preferred white from the outside.

Do cut to width shades come with an end cap on the cut end? I ordered 2 cut to width shades each one came with no end cap and was dirty on end.

Asked by: Snickers
Yes they should have the end caps.

Is there a handle or tab of any sort on the bottom bar?

Asked by: Gizmo
No. Just pull on the bottom plastic piece or push it up. It works very smoothly.

My windows are 42" (W) x 39" (L). Would the 48" (L) blinds be too long?

Asked by: Mitzi
Not at all. I have 64" ones in 51" tall windows and the excess doesn't look obnoxious or 'weird' in any way. I have 48" ones hanging in 43" tall windows (4" taller than yours) and you really can't even tell that there's any excess. I think the little bit of excess gives them some needed weight at the bottom to keep them steady.

My window measures 28 3/4 wide. I'm not sure what width to order. 28 1/2 or 29. Thanks.

Asked by: condog
I would recommend ordering the exact measurement or 29. JCP offers Cut to Width, so you can't go wrong. If still unsure a local JCP in store associate can help with ordering. I took my measurements to my local JCP and ordered. It was delivered timely.
