Saratoga cut--to-width blackout shade features a light-blocking layer sandwiched between two layers of vinyl for privacy and light control. Note: Roller shades will be slightly narrower than the width ordered; to avoid the resulting light gap on each side and to achieve maximum privacy and light control, consider outside mount.

  • cordless product safe for homes with young children and pets
  • cut to the exact width you need from 15" to 73¼" wide
  • embossed vinyl with the look of fabric
  • fringed bottom hem
  • white on street side except ivory which is the same color on both sides
  • heavy-duty spring roller mechanism allows you to adjust shade to any height

Fits windows up to 64" long. Inside or outside casing installation. Window must be at least ¾" deep for inside mount, 2¼" deep for flush inside mount. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Shades wipe clean with a damp cloth. Imported.

To Order: You will be able to specify the exact width you need for your shade. For inside mount, subtract 1/8" from your overall width to account for mounting brackets.

Note: If you are ordering more than one shade within the same size range and want the shades cut to different widths, you must place each shade in the shopping bag separately.

Spring motor roller shades are manufactured with approximately 8” of extra fabric added to the length. This is required for the proper operation of the spring activated roller mechanism.

FREE SWATCH: If you would like to receive a swatch of the fabric prior to ordering the item, please e-mail customerservice@phaseii.com to receive a sample swatch of fabric. Please include your name, address, item description and color that corresponds with your selection. Allow 5 days to receive the swatch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for price Timing had it that we got these shades at a tremendous discount. They've been fine so far. The material is thinner than the shades that were on the windows before, so time will tell how well they hold up. The main problem we had was in ordering them. They were custom sizes so we followed the guidelines on the MEASURE tab at the link, "helpful blinds and shades guide" to measure them. For an outside mount (which we have), the only instruction given for measuring the width is, "measure exactly where the window covering with be." We took that to mean the width of the fabric part, and they came in way too short. After several phone calls and discussions with different sales people at JCP.com and the stores (who all gave different instructions), we took the word of one of them and measured from the tip of the fixed flat pin to the tip of the pin on the other side WITH IT PUSHED IN ALL THE WAY. JCP took back the old shades and reordered them for us with the new measurements, and they came in at the correct size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent blackout, good durability, and true color I ordered two custom-cut shades in Ivory (more of a light buff tan, but true to the online sample shown) for a bedroom, and am quite happy. For what it is, as described online, it is just as I expected: the vinyl does look more like fabric (nice!); the scalloped edging with bit of fringe is just decorative enough, nothing frilly but makes a nice line. Am very pleased with the color, perfect in my room. In determining size, I measured the old shade rod with the end pins still intact, tip to tip, and submitted this as my size for the new shades. -- worked perfectly in both cases: They slotted right into the former mounting brackets which I left on the window casements [inside-frame]. -- (So I cannot vouch for the hardware that accompanied the new shades, but they seem substantial and hardy.) Durability of the shade fabric: I will say that after a few weeks I have a small horizontal tear on either side of one of the shades, just above the encased 'handle' rod. In my other shade however, I left the plastic slat rod out, and the shade still handles fine, and no tears. For the price, on sale, these shades were unbelievably a fantastic find!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really darkens the room! They are attractive and they almost completely block the light coming through the window. The price was right and they were cut just right, but one package arrived torn and the hardware was missing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value! I purchased 4 of these shades on sale for a great deal and am very pleased. I had planned to buy curtains and/or valances to go over them, but they look great all by themselves - very clean lines. One of the four came slightly bent so it is difficult to open and close. I'm sure JCPenney would have replaced it had I complained, but I've been too busy and for what I paid, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. That particular one goes in bedroom so I'm not too worried about it. They are pretty good quality - great quality for what I paid for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I know many people had good experience with these blinds. Since this was new construction, I was very disappointed in the company who sized the final cut, from what I gave them, as not fitting and covering my window properly. They ended up taking an overall total of 1 1/4" more off, which completely exposed my frame. Plus, the cutting was not even on both sides and each side only covered right to the edge of the glass, at frame and didn't extend covering the window frame. This causes light to escape on the sides. According to the description in how to measure, which I've done before professionally, it stated that you should take 1/8" off of the total width of window for inside mounting. I did that. Window measured 22 7/8" and after taking off 1/8", it ended being 22 3/4". I can't image taking off 1/8" on each side, as some have commented to do. Then 1/4th of my glass would've been exposed on each side...geez! I figured since the blinds were so cheap in price,(love the scalloped fringe) I'd deal with it and later ordered something much better. Now as far as the blackout! what blackout? NOT blackout as light still comes through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality product This is a good quality product. The only thing about them is that with sun exposure (which is what I am keen on blocking with blackout shades) can cause the fringe to shrink a bit across the width of the shade, creating a bit less neat of a look, making it a bit puckered. Most likely just a side effect of having two different materials joined together - probably would happen with any shade like this. Less of a problem where there is no direct sun. Still very happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't purchase! Do not buy these if you already have hardware installed for other shades. These shades will not fit in the older shade hardware. The ends are plastic & will probably wear out quickly. The roller is fatter than, the hardware is shorter, & the mounting holes are the not in the same place as the old hardware. I will not be able to use these shades unless I cut them shorter & mount the hardware on the window frame. Then I will have to buy new curtain rods that stick out further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these blinds I found these blinds and from the pictures they looked great and the price was great, but when we received them we were both excited. And then we opened the package all I can say is beautiful very good quality and design for the money better than I expected . My husband installed them and they all fit perfectly. Hopefully I can get an extra hour or two when my grandchildren visit by them being room darkening maybe they won't wake as early. Thanks JCPenney wish I need more.

will these curl at edges after installed or will they hang flat and straight from top to bottom?

I will be hanging these blinds on 3 adjoining windows. right and left window sections are 23.5 wide and center section is 43 inches wide. ( I will purchase 3 shades) I will be utilizing the full length of these shades when they are pulled down in down position to close.
Asked by: serendipity
Due to weight of wood insert at bottom, shades hang flat. For assured straightness, be sure brackets are even on each window.

Can I trim width myself?

Mine arrived about 1/4 to 1/2 inch too wide. Will the tube slide down, if I trim myself? If not, I'll have to return them.
Asked by: Ellen
WOW a half an inch is quite a bit. I think mine were probably a quarter of an inch to wide and I hit (carefully) the flat round silver part (NOT the pointed tips) on each end with a hammer. Pushed them in just enough to work. Hope you don't have to go through returning yours. Good luck.

I the measurement the fabric, the roller, or the tips distance?

Asked by: Robinski
measure the inside distance. Subtract 1/8" & order that size. If ordering more than one blind label the window with a piece of masking tape & measurement so you know which blind goes in which window.

size of fabric

If I measure the width from tip to tip of the roller to be 23 and 5/8, how much shorter is the fabric itself?
Asked by: Terri
Just measured mine-fabric is 1 inch shorter on each side. Keep in mind one side is spring loaded so you can order a little wider (about 1/2 inch)
