Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves a fortune on home heating and air condition I have an older model LG washer-dryer combo unit. Bought it early 2005 when we moved to this 2,000 st home from our 800 st duplex. What we noticed was that our gas bill was the same as it was at our old house. We were glad but were afraid it was a mistake and that the gas company would come and ask us for hundreds of dollars they had forgotten to bill. But you know what it was? Our ventless dryer. Because a ventless dryer does NOT pump any air out of your house. Whatever precious dollars you have spent on heating and A/C stay right in your house. Think about it. (If it doesn't make sense, think about it again.) . The other best thing about the combo unit is that you put the clothes in dry and dirty, then take them out dry and clean. They are totally done while you are asleep or at work. It seems like my laundry does itself. . And no more chapped fingers from moving wet laundry into the dryer. . I'm getting a new one this year, and I'm def getting another ventless combo unit. And my old one still works fine, it's just getting a bit old and I'm eager to try the newer model with newer features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There's a Solution to not drying! Love it! However the problem everyone else has had with drying is you have to lower the drain outlet as close to the floor as possible. I cut my drain hose to fit perfectly straight down into it. Dries perfectly!! It will not dry if the water has to travel upward. It cleans great, tub is large, doesn't need a lot of soap, love the customizable settings but I need to look at the chart so I put it in a sheet protector and hung it up next to machine for reference. I love the little song it plays at the end. I love this, got it on sale and 10% off that on Veterans Day so this is sooooo great. OH BEWARE people really don't know anything about these yet, not the Lowes appliance salesmen, not the electrician, plumber, or anyone else I know. Thus trying to get advice or help won't be of any use. I watched YouTube video of a guy who used a tub to release the water into but instead I moved the drain outlet down to the bottom of the wall and it drains perfectly and dries as it should. No problems! Just patching the wall up and painting but so what I have [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Towel odor Most items seem to wash and dry just fine, however, towels come out stinking like old socks regardless of setting. I am ready to take this as an expensive experiment and buy a new washer and separate dryer for this reason alone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our LG Washer Dryer Combo When we downsized into a smaller house as empty-nesters, we wanted to have everything on one floor of our 1,440 square foot ranch. The previous owners had their laundry in the basement. When our appliance dealer introduced the LG WM3997HWA I was at first skeptical, but my wife was convinced that this would be perfect for us. We did our research and, while we were at first concerned about drying, we became suitably impressed with the reviews that were out there and, armed with that encouraging word, we went back to our appliance dealer and purchased it. We had it installed and started to learn how to operate this new piece of appliance technology. It is perfect for our small family and the features make it a terrific and wise investment. We are fully delighted! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic for what it is I've had this washer/dryer combo for about 4 months and it's much better than the prior product I had in the space. This is the kind of appliance you get when you don't have the room for a separate washer and dryer, but would like to have a washer and dryer. This is exactly that, and it's probably the best of its kind. The washing portion of this machine is 5 stars. Does everything any other washer would do and more -- its steam cycle and allergiene cycles provide the best clean ever. The dryer is a condensing dryer so it doesn't quite dry 100%, but gets really close -- although takes about 4 hours to get there because it doesn't vent. My only wish to make this a 5 star appliance is for it to have the option condensing or venting, so that it would make the dry cycle faster with an added vent outside. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Machine I don't normally write reviews, but in this case I'll throw in a few comments. I bought this machine to replace an older model of the same machine. The old one was entirely satisfactory and ran for almost ten years without a single problem. Finally, a bearing started to go, it became noisy on the spin cycle, and it was time to replace it. The new machine seems to be even better than the old one. The capacity is slightly larger (a queen size comforter is no problem), it has some more features, it's essentially silent and it dries faster. These machines do take somewhat longer to dry than conventional vented dryers, but you know that going in. It's never been an issue for me; you're home, it's not like you're sitting around a crowded laundry mat waiting for an empty dryer. If I compare the cost of the old machine (about the same as the new one) to the amount I would have spend on laundry mat quarters over the ten years, the machine more than paid for itself. The machines also use far less detergent, so you save there too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly awesome machine.... Throw clothes in set the timer for when electricity is at the lowest price and presto it does it all including drying clothes... Brilliant idea. Ideal for basement installation. Or laundry room. Probably one of the best inventions for wash and dry in a single step. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
