Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Thermo pot I personally own two NC-EH30P models and have had them for about 4 years. They are essentially the same as this NC-EG3000 model and the primary reason I purchased this one for my father. I keep one at work, one at home. The one at home is on 24/7. The one at work is turned on/off every day. I've used both well water as well as filtered water. They show no signs of quitting. Well water leaves more scale in the pot, obviously, but I clean it with ~1Tbs citric acid and the interior looks like new after the cleaning cycle. Bulk citric acid can be picked up quite cheap online. I think very highly of these pots and regularly use them for both Tea and Coffee as well as other things. I'm sure my one at work has gone through many hundreds of gallons of water as well as many hundreds of boiling/cooling cycles. My old model and this new model seem to be of the same quality. In fact, other than the model number and the "lock/Unlock" button, they appear identical. This new model I gave me father supposedly has a "Slow-Drip" mode? I was curious to see how it worked. I tried it, read the directions, tried again. There is perhaps a 10-20% decrease in water flow. Maybe? To call it a "slow-drip" is a poor joke. Not sure what I was expecting, but seems a lame gimmick. The only reason I rate the "Features" as "Good" as opposed to "Excellent" is because of this slow-drip being an option, but a garbage/pointless option, imo. Without the Slow-drip, I'd rate excellent. I'd like to think that the slow drip was just poorly thought out and not that the quality control was bad. Swivel base is a minor feature because if the magnetic cord, but it can be useful (I like to turn the pot when it boils so it isn't jetting steam quite so directly onto the wall or something else. I would like to note that my father had an electric kettle before this pot. Plug it in, boil the water, use it. It worked well enough and they were content. They are quite pleased with this thermo pot and surprised at how much they use it. If you drink tea, French-press/single cup drip coffee, or even hot cocoa with any frequency, this pot becomes a staple appliance quickly. It took me less than a week to order my 2nd pot for home once I started using my one at work. The power usage to leave these pots on continually is negligible. (Less than old-school 60W incandescent bulbs even at hottest setting.) The fact that you can always have water available at 180/190 degrees (208 is nice for some tea) is fantastic for Tea/coffee and makes a world of difference. I drink 3x the green tea now than I did before this thermo pot. 190 degrees is the 'default" temperature upon powering up. I am very glad I got 3 liter pots vs 2L. I sometimes wish I had gotten 4L pots, but 3 is well enough and probably excellent for small to moderate use. I used to have my work one on a timer. I had it basically empty once and forgot to unplug it. Timer kicked the pot on. The safety setting kept it from doing anything terrible/heating a tiny amount of water. Nice peace of mind. If Panasonic reads these reviews, I would like to note that the 6h Timer is a cute idea but for a questionable time period. Why 6 hours? Why not 8 or 12? Even 24 might be more useful. 6 hours seems like the weirdest/most useless arbitrary time. 8 seems like a more reasonable time (during sleep or while at work?) Like I said though, I just leave mine on. Don't need to deal with re-boiling and I find the energy conservation would be minimal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Hot Water Pot with a little muttering The "Slow Drip" function is the main reason I bought this hot water pot, however this function is not function that well to me, the slow drip is not slow enough! I must temporarily release the button repeatedly so the hot water won't overfill the coffee filter. However, this is only a minor problem so I can ignore it, because the water tastes better now, I believe that is because of the Bichotan inner coating. Besides, 4 temperature options are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice product. This is the second one of the same model I bought. Both of them are very reliable and just function as good as what I expect. Highly recommended to whoever needs such kind of drinking water heater.
