Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Noisy Brushes This review is in regards to the replacement brushes - part number: 4235-020-51692 for a Sonicare Essence HX5611/01 toothbrush. The newer design have bright metal magnets and two small Phillips screws on the bottom side. The previous design (same part number- BTW) does not have screws and the magnets are black. My issue is this: The newer design brushes are extremely noisy, to the point that it's very annoying to use this product. And, the brush armature is stiffer with the previous design versus a more compliant one with the new. I believe the magnets with the new design are hitting the inside housing of the power handle. I am very disappointed with the performance of the new brushes! Why did Philips change a good thing? I contacted Philips before this review and received no response!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from quality of replacement heads is terrible! I've used Sonicare for 30 years ... purchased 3 units over that time. The product cleans teeth very well and is good for gums and I've had great 6 month check ups. HOWEVER, over the last few years I've noticed that the replacement heads show wear very quickly -- after one month they are very worn. These replacement heads are no longer manufactured with the same quality that they used to be!!! The replacement heads are very expensive to change on a monthly basis!!! Either improve the quality or lower the price on the replacement heads!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from wasteful This product works well but what a wasteful design! Why can't you make a toothbrush where just the top head pops off so only a small part needs to be replaced? You should accept these back for recycling, and make the effort to make a less wasteful product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, shaky labeling The e-series Sonicare has always worked well for us. Convenient 4-segment timer, good checkups at the dentist. I wish the base and handle were more clearly labeled. When it's time to buy replacement heads, I always get confused trying to remember which model brush heads I need to buy. This time I got it right, but how easy would it be to clearly label the product with the type of parts it requires?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dentist recommended The Sonicare toothbrush years ago. I've used it ever since. I've used this product for more than 10 years. I absolutely won't use anything else. My only complaint is that my toothbrush is so old and works so well that I've never had to buy another one. Replacement heads are impossible to find now. The customer service people don't even recognize the model number as valid. I'm hoping that I can figure which replacement heads will work, as the ones for purchase in the store don't.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brush Life is Too Short I have been a Sonicare user for 8 years. I used to love this product because it cleaned my teeth really well and the brush heads lasted a long time. I get my teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months, and I used to replace the brush head every time I got my teeth cleaned. During those times, when I would throw the old brush head away, I would notice that the brush was still in pretty good condition, even after 6 months of use. However, in the last year, I'm finding that my Phillips replacement heads are starting to show significant wear in as little as 2-3 weeks. For instance, I have been using my current replacement head for 2 1/2 weeks now. Over 20 bristles on the outside edge are now splayed outward, and I've had bristles come out of the brush and get left in my mouth twice in the last week. The brush head is now unattractive because of the splaying bristles and unpleasant to use because of the bristles falling out, so I will replace the brush head tomorrow. The disappointing thing is that I've found that I used to be able to replace these brush heads every six months when I got a professional cleaning and the heads were still in decent shape, but now I'm replacing them every 3 weeks because they're starting to look worn and leaving bristles in my mouth. Replacing brush heads is now costing me 8 times as much as it used to, and I simply cannot afford it any more at the prices Philips charges. I wish that the replacements performed for me like they used too, but I'm going to have to start using something different. I feel bad now that I've recommended this product to lots of friends and family members over the years and it's no longer working as good as it used to. I hope they're not having the same issues. I'll ask my dentist what he thinks I should use now when I get my teeth cleaned next month. After all, he's the person who recommended Sonicare to me 8 years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product; I've had excellent dental health as a result. Overall highly recommend. I've noticed during the past year the brush heads no longer last more than 45 days, whereas they used to last for several months. Other than longevity and cost of brush heads, the product is awesome. I've owned for five years plus and my dentist is very happy with my gum health and minimal plaque build up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from durable product I have had this toothbrush for several years and it has held up really well! I started using it when I started having issues with my gums. the dentist suggested it so I bought one right on the spot and have used it ever since!my gums have been a lot healthier! I just wish I could buy the heads in a single pack because I don't know how much longer the system will work and I don't want to get stuck with extra heads! do you still sell that same system because my dentist does not.he has the newer on which takes a different head! I LOVE IT!!!!
