Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk Before buying this, I read some complaints about threads/seams coming undone but thought I'd take a chance anyway. Mine did arrive with loose threads but I decided to keep it anyway knowing I can cut any unraveled threads and repair any critical seams with my sewing machine. It didn't seem to get any worse after using it for 2 weeks, even after washing and drying it to get the chemical smell out. But...our dog unexpectedly jumped up on the bed yesterday, only for a moment, but it was enough to put 4-5 pea-sized holes in the top layer of fabric so the batting shows through. I never expected this to be made from *rugged* fabric but it certainly shouldn't have torn open the way it did from our dog, whose claws are maintained. I would return it at this point but I've already hemmed it because is was a few inches too wide. I may try to repair the holes but I'm not very hopeful this overpriced, low-quality bedspread will last for any length of time. What a waste of money! February 5, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Two color sides to this spread and too wide This bedspread, like the drapes it matches, is composed of strips of fabric sewn together lengthwise. Each side has a different color combination. One side matches the picture shown but the other side is solely of the lighter blue/beige strips, which I preferred. As others have commented, the sizing on this spread is way off. On my bed, it's about 16" too wide. Luckily I have a sewing machine and the expertise to take off the edging, cut the spread to the proper width, and sew the edging back on. If I were to have the spread come down to the floor on three of the four sides, I wouldn't have enough length to cover the pillows as a bedspread should. April 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good size, Great colors This bedspread should match almost any room with all the shades in it. One of the reasons I chose it was the wider size (122") and so it comes about 2" above the floor on both sides. Much better than my previous spread that barely covered the bed frame. Unfortunately, because there is so much stitching done to put the pieces together, there had to be 50+ threads that needed to be cut off. Some were still connected, some just pulled out. Not a big deal, just took some time to remove them. Otherwise, I really like the thickness of the spread and it never seems to wrinkle. March 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I purchased the entire set including thje drapes to remodel a bedroom I ordered the entire set including the drapes. It matched the retro blonde furniture and the carpeting so perfectly without seeing it. The picture online was spot on and I was so amazed. I ended up purchasing two sheet sets one in the cream and one in the dark blue.It went beyond my expectations! I would recommend any comforter set from JC Penney as I have purchased them for another bedroom in the past and was not disappointed. I have had that particular set for over five years so I know the quality will be the same as the first one. May 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by cotton, machine washable, colorful, casual pattern I love this bedspread! It's colorful, but not too bright and the striped pattern is neither feminine nor masculine, so it fits perfect with our casual décor. It's a comfortable cotton and machine washable, so it's just what we need, especially since I have a dog that sleeps with us... thank you JC Penney! August 5, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Fell apart immediately I love the colors on this bedspread. When I received it, it had a strong chemical odor. So I washed it as instructed (but added baking soda to help cut the odor) and dried it on low heat. It still smelled a bit, but I was anxious to put it on my teenager's bed to see the colors pull the room together. Instead, what I saw were big rips on the bedspread; it did not hold up in the wash. Rated 5 out of 5 by This product meets my criteria. Firstly the quilt order was delivered on time at a great price. With its varied colors, it can be accented any way I want. Secondly, the weight is not too heavy and it covers the entire bed to the floor. I was tired of bed skirts and thick comforters so this was perfect for my new home. It is in perfect condition and I plan to handle it with care to last a long time. January 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointment We just bought a new mattress with one of those low profile boxsprings and didn't realize that bed skirts would now be way too long. So getting a bedspread seemed like the perfect solution. The one good thing about this product is that it is generously sized. It hits the floor on both sides of the bed. However, there are so many things that are disappointing about this bedspread. First, the color is not how it appeared in the picture. I bought neutral because it looked muted and like it had a decent amount of ivory in it. The actual color is much more bold with little ivory. Plus, they never show you what the reverse side looks like. It is striped but with different colors that clash with the side you can see. The bedspread had a terrible chemical smell so I was forced to send it to the cleaners. Like other reviewers had stated, it feel apart at the seems (in multiple places) with just one washing. This thing wasn't cheap. I expected something with better quality. February 24, 2016

Answer:
The quilt is generally lighter in weight, unless it is designed for winter use. It is much smaller than a bedspread.

Answer:
A quilt only comes down to top of box springs and the bedspread should come to the floor.

Answer:
It is still in the package, so I weighted it on the bathroom scale. It appears to be about 8 lbs. It is not exceptionally thick or heavy. I'd say a comfortable weight even for cool summer evenings. Hope this helps.

Answer:
I haven't washed it yet (I have the full bedspread in Neutral), but I have read reviews that say it does shrink. Some reviewers even recommended dry cleaning. When necessary, I'll probably wash mine in a commercial washer on gentel because it's just a tad too big for my retro bed, so some shrinkage wouldn't be a problem. But I would definitely dry it outside, NOT in the dryer.
