by Nickie9090 Happy with purchase
We got this set for our baby, It is very sturdy and looks very good in a boys room. It is VERY expensive for furniture that my husband had to assemble. The dressers were not the easiest things to assemble, the directions are not correct, but is easily fixed. The crib is very easy, i assembled it by myself in under an hour. I rated the construction as average because It comes unassembled, so the construction really depends on who builds it.

by BabygirlA The product is NOT white it is off white/cream
My mother-in-law ordered this for us. The listing says white, but it is not white. When it came the boxes said antique white which is a cream/off white color. By the time I found this out, my husband and mother-in-law had already put together the dresser and changing table. REALLY bummed. So beware, if you are wanting white, do not order this. JC Penney needs to appropriately list the correct color on their website. This product was VERY time consuming to put it together. And it isn't the best quality. You can tell with the drawers. Also, the screw holes show in the front of the crib. I am going to have to go find and buy some sort of plugs to cover them up. It is still cute though and we are excited. Obviously we won't be returning as that is more hassle... and... I can't do that to my husband who spent so much time putting it together.

by ChristianC Straight Back Crib & changer
I am only writing about the crib and the changer. I have not received the dresser as of yet. It was damaged during shipping. I was impressed with JCPenny though, instead of still trying to deliver me a damaged item they sent it back and after 2 days it was shipped back to me. I haven't try to assemble it yet, but if it is as easy as the crib and the changer, it will not take long.
Instructions were pretty good, they do miss telling you where to put a couple of screws in for the changer, but once you start going, you get the hang of it all. Was just a tad dissappointed at the color. I ordered coffee, but it came in like a very dark cherry. Color still looks good though, but should not be called coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mommy2N Great product for this price point
We purchased this item nearly 3 years ago when our son was born. This weekend we just changed from the toddler bed to the full size bed.
Over the 3 years, we have not had any trouble with the pieces. The original assembly was time consuming, but worth it. The set looks great. It was a bit more challenging changing from the toddler bed to the full size bed as the instructions are 1 page and do not indicate that you need to re-attach the posts from the crib/toddler bed to the foot board. Also, the screws you need aren't clear when making the final transition.
In spite of that, for the price point this is a great product. The wood and stain have held up as expected - it is used by a child after all. The long dresser was the perfect height for us to double as a changing table.
If you choose to pick up the product in store, beware it is several large boxes that are very heavy. We needed 2 SUVs to get the products from our local store to our home.
Very satisfied 3 years later!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer 7 YEARS AND COUNTING!
My MIL purchased this group for my newborn son in late 2009. Luckily, at that time Rockland offered a Coffee matching Toy Chest alongside the trio. She also purchased the matching conversion rails at the same time in case of any future discontinuation.
My son, Rex, will be 7 this year and after all this time (and 4 residency moves!) THIS SET IS AMAZING STILL! Yes, initially it must be assembled.... but when it came to the safety of my newborn, I personally felt MORE comfortable knowing I would assemble it with much more attention to detail than a rushed-preassemble-factory! Other than the dresser & chest of drawers backing which is wood composite, the set IS solid wood. Depending on how its treated, wood does scratch... its not a bar of gold after all. If you have this set, try alternating or flipping the drawer panels for leveling out any use over time! Plus, Im very consistent in care when it comes to "pledge-ing" wood furniture but thats also because I understand the fact that it is meant to convert from crib, to toddler, to daybed, to eventually the full size bed; its supposed to maintain til then! And it definitely has!! I can confidently say, theres at least ten more years in this set! At least! TLC! And good job, Rockland!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Soon2bMumof2 Very poor quality!
This is the 2nd set of nursery furniture we have ordered from JCP. We came back to them because the 1st set was awesome: meaning the quality, craftsmanship, and overall finish are stellar.
This set however lacks in all three categories. To the touch it feels cheap and flimsy. The material is drastically different from the first set we ordered even though they cost the same. The finish scratches way too easily for being children's furniture, it should be able to stand up to being bumped into without scratching the finish off. The crib does not feel stable, as in it has a small rocking motion to it instead of being secure to the floor. The drawers on the both dressers are too small for their compartments so there is a gap on both sides of the drawer space.
If we had realized we were going to be facing all these issues we wouldn't have bothered to put the set together and just returned it. However since the entire set comes in so many pieces the only way to really see all the issues is once it is put together.
If we can return the set, we will not be buying a replacement from JCP as it seems their quality is no longer present.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shop128 Great set for the price!
My mother-in-law bought this set for us in preparation for our first child. We are having a boy and wanted a nice looking set for a reasonable price and I believe this set fits the bill. Shipping and delivery was excellent. The set was delivered within 10 days of ordering and the delivery included the items being brought into the proper room. The directions for assembly are moderately easy to follow (a few of the pictures and directions were confusing at first, but with the two of us we were able to figure them out). I would recommend assembling the dresser, then changing table, and crib last. The dresser and changing table are the most difficult, so doing the crib last was a nice treat. We ordered the set in coffee, and while we like the color, we were expecting it to be a bit darker...it appears more like a dark cherry than coffee (I was anticipating a more espresso color). The furniture is not of the best quality (finish scratches easily) but I believe it will be perfect for our purposes...children are rough on furniture anyways!! Overall, I am very satisfied with our purchase and can't wait for our little man to get here and use the furniture!

The crib was pretty easy to put together, as I did it almost completely by myself at 9 months pregnant. (And the only reason I decided to get help was because I wanted to make sure I didn't scratch the dark wood). It's made very sturdy--it definitely doesn't "feel" cheap! The only thing I'd complain about on the crib is that I ordered the darkest finish, and, while it is a beautiful color, it is not as dark as it looks on the internet (but from reading other reviews I was already ready for this). Dark wood does scratch more easily, but it seemed to be packaged very well to prevent any damage in shipment (I personally had it delivered to the store to save on shipping and that turned out great also!)...and any scratches I might have caused could be "colored" with a furniture marker to blend nicely. I really love this crib!!
