by Doestheironing Excellent iron, works great
We had one of these irons previously and was happy with it. We looked at Consumer Report reviews and found this make and model was highly rated. The instructions were hard to understand because they were only a series of pictures. We were disappointed in the condition in which it was received. Only a thin plastic wrapping

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marilyn First Roweta Iron Purchase
I just received my iron, and yes, was actually excited about this one and in the past, to me, an iron was just like an iron. After I watched a demo about this iron, I decided to make a Rowenta my next purchase and JCP had the absolute best deal on the web. I have used many brands from high to low end, but this iron is a whole new level. Now since I am just using this one for daily light ironing I didn't need the top of the line model. Here is what I like: Vertical steaming. Use of tap water, 1600 watts of power (higher available in USA by law). All of those wholes! The construction of the iron holds more water. The design of the tip, great for going around your shirt buttons. Fast. The stainless steel. And I do like the dial temperature control instead of a push button control. For me, this was a perfect fit, and I power through my ironing with this model.
My next iron, if I need to ever get another will be a Roweta and I will most likely continue to use JCP on-line. They have been great with customer service, processing orders in a timely manner and if there are ever any delays, they do let me know.

I am a Rowenta convert! You might be paying a little bit more than with other brands; however, you are getting a quality product. I liked how smooth the iron surface is while in use... it glides across the material being ironed - much better than with any iron I have owned before. Our last one (another brand) sometimes got caught or stuck to the material, creating marks. Our last one also broke down after only 2 years. This model can be used with regular tap water and also has an auto-shut-off mechanism. It heats up very quickly too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mandy didn't last through one shirt
I bought this iron because i have to iron some heavy cotton chef coats and i've used Rowentas that belong to friends/family members. i'm so disappointed. i followed the all-picture confusing instructions for the first use, and while it did heat up and ironed for a bit, it leaked everywhere and it would just die. the auto shut-off isn't supposed to start until 30 seconds of being horizontal or 8 mins of being vertical for safety. it would just DIE. no lights, no beeps. unplugging from outlet and trying again wouldn't even work. and i know i hadn't maxed out the time. and i know it got up to temp. i'm returning it today. i don't know if i'll try with another one or just get a Shark like another friend recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SJ64 I bought the iron yesterday after the strong recommendation from a friend.
After, using thie iron this morning, it met all the reviews and those of my friend. I especially, liked that I can use tap water. It's also light weight.
