Rated 5 out of 5 by Simpenguin A happy hard-sell
When I ordered this, I was settling for something different than I wanted. I haven't been a fan of memory foam toppers (judging from visits to other people's houses) but I couldn't find a mattress pad that was floofy enough for me that was constructed in a way that would hold up. So I got this instead. And I'm super-happy so far. I didn't have any trouble with it not relaxing out from the shipping bundle or with smell - It only took an hour or so to relax and a few minutes for the very slight odor to dissipate. I've slept GREAT the past few nights I've had it. My only negative comment is that it falls 1" shy of all four edges of my very standard twin mattress - A loss of valuable real estate when dealing with a twin and it looks a little funny. But other than that minor irritant, I'm completely happy with this. And I waited for a sale so I can't complain about the price, either. For those who had trouble with the topper not relaxing, I would say to be sure to pry/force it as open/flat as you can at the start and make sure you have left it in a warm room - If you haven't done both of those things, I could see why you might have a problem.

Since I have a very hard bed, I decided to "over-kill" the situatioin and ordered both the "Comfort Zone Topper" and also the "Down Alternative Pillow Top". Together they vie the best pillow top mattresses I tried ahead of time.
I was concerned about the heavy foam rubber smell that several of the other reviews talked about. When I recieved it, I unrolled it and took it straight outside to lay across several lines of the clothes line. Went out once to "fluff" and turn. That night put it on bed and have never noticed an odor from it. Alone it would most likely have done the job well for me, but combined with the Pillow Top.....I can't wait to go to bed at night!

I ordered this topper to help my back and hips since my mattress was starting to become soft in the middle. I figured it was cheaper to put a topper on the mattress instead of buying another mattress. This topper is a winner. After I let the smell of the mattress air for a couple of days, the mattress was ready to put under my mattress pad. It fit perfect and I had the best nights sleep I've had in weeks. I woke to no back or hip pain. Also, my legs have their strength back. I've ordered my husband a topper now for his mattress to help with his back. It's sometimes hard getting older; but, you can still take care of your health as much as possible.

I received this several weeks ago but recently put it on the bed as my son and daughter-in-law were coming. It did not fit the bed of the size I asked for and that it stated. One side was stretched and wrapped so tight that it was like huge scallops which did not change. There was a crease in it that was like a permanent seam. I asked my daughter-in-law how it was. She said you could roll off the sides but it was good in the middle. I asked if they both just migrated to the middle and she said "No, he got up and slept on the floor." Sounds like the floor was more comfortable to sleep on that this memory foam topper.

I bought this topper in hopes it would help me sleep better while 7 months pregnant and it has done a decent job. My husband doesn't feel me toss and turn as much and although I don't sleep through the night thanks to Mr. Bladder waking me constantly I did notice more restful sleep than when we didn't have it. It's definitely worth the money. Is it the best? I don't know - I'm not planning on buying other ones to find out, but the price is good and the quality is decent.. If I had one complaint - It would be nice if it came with some type of cover so you don't "stick" to the bare foam.

I have used this as a mattress topper and it holds its shape for a long time, and is very comfortable to sleep on. Other uses are for sewing projects, such as making chair back cushions for dining room chairs. The 1 1/2" thick is great for this, if you want to pad wooden back chairs, as I did. I simply took a measurement of the chair back, cut out the foam and covered it with removable covers in order to wash them without washing the foam. So glad that JCP still carries this product. It isn't easy to find.

It seems odd to review this as we're not using it in a traditional way. We used this to replace the stuffing in our dog's bed. We cut the topper into pieces to fit her bed. Then we stacked three layers into her primary bed. Now she has a 4.5"-deep memory foam bed that we got at a reasonable value.
Although she's usually skeptical about new beds, she took to this one very quickly. In addition, her bed is now comfortable enough for me to sit on, without feeling like I'm sitting on the floor.

This product was shipped to me very tightly compressed in plastic wrap in a box, just a wadded up roll of foam, no label or signage, would not have purchased in a store. After 7days I was finally able to put it on our mattress. It never did become completely expanded. I would have returned it but could not due to size and bulk, too hard to get a king size back to the store. It works but just average.
