I love these curtains. I purchased them while they were on sale so I got them at a great price. I will be looking to see if there is a color that will go great in my family room.

These curtains are not true black out curtain. I liked the curtains but needed a 'black-out' curtain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Silverbluepearl Lovely sheen and drape
This curtain has quality material with a nice, subtle sheen. They hang well and wash easily. I hung the "wheat" color over another blackout curtain. Together, they block out all light except at the top of the window. However, "wheat" is more like a "tan" color. I will return for another Eclipse curtain that comes in ivory.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kac825 Good but not great
The room darkening properties of this curtain are pretty good but the two panels I purchased are not the same length, nor do they hang very nicely. One of the panels is 82" long which is quite noticeable when hung with the as-advertised 84" length panel; and each panel also hangs unevenly at the bottom which is very noticeable from a blue curtain against white trim. Since these were on sale and they are doing the job of darkening my son's bedroom room for naptime and sunrise, I like them and would recommend them. If you're concerned about the look of how they hang in multiples, I wouldn't choose these first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by shopWI It has the room darkening feature I needed
I needed room darkening panels in a navy blue material which wasn't formal, but they needed to be wider than 40" (which was most of what was available). I wasn't sure about the texture of the material but at least is didn't look formal. The instructions for getting the packing wrinkles removed was to put them in a dryer with a damp towel. When they came out, they were perfect and do provide the room darkening requirement I needed for my bedroom sliding glass doors. My bedroom faces East, which is fine, but during the Summer season the sun starts shining straight in at 5am! Now just a little light comes from the top of the rod.The stitching quality (puckered a little at the hem) could be better but that was resolved with a just a little pressing. I am VERY PLEASED with them and the fact I found 50" panels which were more casual in appearance to coordinate with my cottage-style bedroom was great. If I needed to cover more windows/sliders I would purchase additional panels.
I was also amazed at how light weight they were, thanks to the special black backing which I really don't mind since I have vertical blinds which also cover the door - but do not provide the darkness I wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MasterGartener Finally, Some Blackouts!
I have been trying to find black-out curtains. I've ordered them on line a couple of times and have been disappointed, shocked actually. "Black-out" seems to be used on nearly every curtain. So I realized I would have to go into the store and see for myself. Penneys was great about taking back the fails! The design help I had at the Cupertino, CA store was wonderful! Thank-you. These are NOT as heavy as black-out curtains one finds at hotels. I learned those have to be special ordered. But these do have a thicker lining than anything else I found in the store. They are not complete black-out-, but they work well enough for my needs. They look very nice too. They have a sheen, like silk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by rollingprairie disappointing
I bought 4 panels the same size for 2 windows. I will be returning the 4 panels I bought. They do not block the light as well as advertised. Even more disturbing, each panel is a different length. When you hang any 2 panels together, no two out of the four are the same length. Plus, If you fold them in half lengthwise you see that none of the panels are rectangles - when they hang, one edge of the panel is a different length than the other. All of this is too bad because the material and the color are nice. Someone else may not care as much about their room darkening properties, but I can't imagine anyone will want panels that are different lengths. Very poor quality control. Absolutely not worth what I paid for them.
