Rated 5 out of 5 by from love my new washer! First, to be fair, other reviewers are correct about the tub being deep. I have a small stool that I keep by the washer for times that socks, panties, and other small items are on the bottom of the tub. When larger items are washed such as towels, pants, shirts, etc. I do not need it (I'm 5'2"). This is the quietest washer I have ever owned. I actually had to check to see if it was running the first couple of loads I ran. I later discovered if something is wrong (unbalanced) it will let you know. I also discovered if I load the tub like it has a center agitator first, then put items in the center I do not get the unbalanced signal. Clothes come out very clean and not as wrinkled as my old washer, and the built in basin is great for pretreating. I have only had the washer for a little over one month, so I cannot speak to the machine's durability, but I am very pleased with all of the features, especially how quiet it is since it is just off my kitchen in an area that is not enclosed yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Super soaker. Awful washer. First the pros. The machine looks good. It's sleek and has all the bells and whistles - on the outside. Ok, that's where the pros end. Call me crazy, but I would rather have the bells and whistles on this inside. After reading all of the reviews for this machine, one may be inclined to buy it, because they're almost unanimously positive. It seems others have either 1) never watched it try to wash clothes or 2) are so fascinated with the outside electronics and cool buttons that they forget the actual purpose of a washing washing. Personally, when buying a washing machine, one of the questions I make sure to ask is, "Does it wash my clothes?" Technically speaking, the Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. High Efficiency Top-Load Washer with VRT® Technology does wash clothes, in the same way that a childs toy shovel moves truck loads of dirt (that means not very well, for those of you struggling with the comparison). I guess it does wash, but not efficiently. I really didn't notice how bad it was the first few times I washed clothes, because why would I? It's a washing machine, so I made the assumption that it would do its thing; you know, like wash my clothes. Then I watched it one day. They call it this machine a "washer." A more apt name would be "soaker," as that's about all it does. (Edit: to be fair, it does also spin). Here's how a load of laundry goes with the Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. High Efficiency Top-Load Washer with VRT® Technology. Throw the clothes in and add detergent. Push fancy buttons and twist cool knobs. Water is added and it starts doing some weird spinning thing. Then it adds more water/detergent while spinning (the normal way). This step gets its own paragraph, it is that important to the review (and yes, I do realize I probably could have just written this one step and get the same point across), but that's no fun. While watching the washer "wash" my clothes, I noticed that they did not move, at all, while being washed. Maybe they have some new technology that washes clothes by keeping them in the same place the entire time, but to my knowledge, they haven't. There is no agitator, so the clothes literally stay in one spot all the way through the wash cycle (thus the name "soaker"). It does attempt to move the clothes around within the machine with its weird spinny thing, but to no avail. After that, it spins. Done. I'm not sure how sitting in the same water for 48 or 60 minutes washes clothes, it does not make inherent sense to me. If I were to take a bath, I highly doubt that my method would be to spin myself a foot to the right, then two feet to the left, every 10 seconds. I've never tried, and hope you haven't either, but let's just assume it would not clean you. That's essentially what the Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. High Efficiency Top-Load Washer with VRT® Technology does. It spins one way, then the other, trying so hard to move the clothes, but failing horribly. I have actually watched, in disbelief, a pair of shorts stay in the exact same spot throughot the entire wash cycle. Again, that is soaking, not washing. By now, you should get the point that this washer does not in fact wash clothes. It soaks them and spins them, yes, but the most crucial part of a washing machine is to clean clothes by washing them, which I have yet to witness. Do I still use it? Yes, but only because I'm cheap and don't want to buy a new one or go to a laundromat. You, however, can save yourself before taking the plunge - that's a washing machine joke ;)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working well. Great price. Has everything I need. So far, a great washing machine. Gets the clothes clean and spin dry can get them so they don't need much time in the dryer. Very affordable. I do not know if it automatically adjusts water level for the size of the load. Also, the drum is so deep, I can't reach the bottom , but I have managed to adjust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent!!!!!!!!! I just bought this set for my mom for her Christmas present. The delivery and installation went very smoothly. I am very pleased with how everything went! We have used the washer and dryer twice already and they have worked perfectly! Very quiet compared to our 20 year old washer and dryer set before. Some relatives and a close friend of mine have the same set and are in love so that is what made my decision concrete! Purchasing the item in store was a breeze too! The associate in the Dover, De store was excellent. I already new what I wanted and she gave me specs and she also explained the protection plan very well so I paid for the 3 yr warranty. Overall my experience was excellent and I plan on buying appliances from pennys again soon!
