Rated 1 out of 5 by Gigi Very Poor Fit
I have been wearing the style 'Vicki' for years. The fit and comfort has been wonderful. Since I need new ones, I tried these. The toe box has been modified to be more pointed so the length and width are much smaller than the ones I am currently wearing. I also noticed there isn't as much padding on the bottom of this style nor as much padding on the inside. So if you have issues with your feet, these may not be the most comfortable for you.

I have ordered these shoes before and love them. Hopefully they will stay on this site.

Absolutely love Hush Puppies and I was looking for the classic pump in black patent. I also purchased a pair of the white ones. Both pair had the same problem. Just trying them on my foot slid across the carpet. The toe was way too cramped and the inside lining was terrible. Very slick. With a pair of stockings on I felt like I had no control over where my feet were going. To be fair I tried on the white pair also. Exact same problem. I was so excited to find these shoes and now I am extremely disappointed. I guess my search is not over after all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 4ClassyLady Beautiful but painful
I was so disappointed! I went to pick up my shoes and tried them on at the catalog pick-up. The styling is as classic as ever, the non-leather uppers never the same feel, but OUCH. My toe felt like it was bumping into a wall as I walked around. There is now a very hard toe piece to provide shape to the styling, I'm sure; but it was actually painful to walk in the shoes. Run the + over the shoe picture and you can actually see the outline of the reinforcing at the toe. The reinforcing would clearly not have stretched with wearing. That material is just too hard, too rigid for a comfortable fit for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BAF1 Great basic shoe
I have been wearing these shoes in different colors for a few years. I wear a wide size, but this time I tried ordering a medium width one-half size up because I think my foot has changed. The jury is still out on whether this is better or if I need to go back to the size I have been wearing.
The only problem I do have with these shoes is that they scuff and then I need to replace them. For the price, however, I can do that.
If I could find the same look and fit that had a leather upper that would not scuff so much, I would probably pay more because it would last longer. However, I cannot find a shoe that is basic, has a low heel and fits as well as these shoes do even for more money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SoCalJCP A comfortable dress shoe!
I was shopping for a basic black dress shoe for work and church. This shoe is really comfortable and simple which for me, makes this shoe tasteful. It was exactly what I was looking for. I also loved the 30% off coupon JCPenney had in January for shoes. I always appreciate saving on great quality items!

Very good shoes - of note, you can be under 30 and still find these to be stylish and practical! I had to try several sizes and widths before I got the right fit - I settled on a 10 wide, and this size or fit is not consistent among all Soft Style "styles", if you will. The inner sole of the shoe is smooth, so your foot tends to slide down towards the toe - perhaps next time they could use a suede inner instead. Also, the outer sole is very smooth, which can make for slippery conditions on carpet and other smooth floor surfaces. Be prepared to by non-skids to apply to the bottom front.

I bought a pair of these shoes to wear for my college graduation (I have problems with my feet and needed something without an overly high heel). Unfortunately, I ended up wearing them to my brother's funeral instead. I ordered an 8.5 W (which is what I wear in dress shoes). They were too tight and too narrow. I ended up getting blisters. I bought a completely different pair of shoes to wear for my graduation. I was not happy with these shoes at all.
