Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice facial hydration I have been using this product a while, really trying to get a feel for it in order to write a correct review. What I like about SK-II - The product is hydrating. Not moisturizing, but hydrating. When applied to face, it does give skin a little bit of a glow. Applying over makeup can help smooth out caky foundation or powder, but does not mess up makeup. I like that it can give makeup a fresh look hours later. The spray is refreshing and feels luxurious on skin, it is also very soothing. Supposedly, this product also combats damage to skin caused by UV rays and pollution, so that's pretty impressive also. What I do not like about SK-II - The smell is a bit unpleasant. Although it only smells immediately after being sprayed, it smells like feet! I am still undecided on if I would purchase this product. Although I do enjoy using it, there are other pretty great facial sprays on the market that can definitely compete with SK-II in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter love for your face in a bottle Ok, I was hesitant at first using this product. SK-II Mid Day Essence Spray, was infact a spray, so what would it do with a mid day face? I spent time appyling makeup and was convinced spraying mist on my face would case my make up to bleed and smudge. Well let my Irish, dry gas heat face say, this is relife in a bottle. I used this when I my face was battling drying with winter cold and forced hot air. I was at first tempted to over spritz, but using just one spritz provided much needed cooling and moisture. All this without changing my makeup an iota. I will say it may have ever enhanced my look because I wasn't ruddy faced. The fact that I was able to use only one spritz means this will last unlike many over the counter sub standard conterfiets. SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray is a refreshing treat that should be in your bag, and is in MY bag. I would think based on how this goes on in a light gentle mist, that SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray will be a welcome delight some summer time with muggy days. I will be sure to have SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray year round.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed Feelings - Not worth the cost I've always wanted to try the SK-II brand and I was really looking forward to trying out the Mid-Day Essence spray. I've used it several times and it feels wonderful and light when you first spray it on. It doesn't make my makeup feel heavy or runny. However, the scent was awful. I thought maybe there was a bad smell coming out of my sink or something but then I sprayed the bottle onto a tissue and sniffed. The scent was enough to turn me off but I kept using it to see if I would get used to the smell. I think I got used to the scent after a while BUT I do wonder if I smell bad to other people. The spray does provide some moisture to my face right away but I don't feel any long-term effects. At the price point for this product, I would rather spend the money on something else in this skin care line that promises more results - like a wrinkle reducer or pore refiner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SK-II Mid-Day Essence Spray My skin complexion is normal/oily combination. I take care of my skin using both toner and moisturizer twice daily as well as SPF everyday. I have smooth complexion but I tend to get oily in the afternoon. I didn't know what to expect when I received the sample but I was very interested in keeping my skin hydrated and refreshed. I was afraid it will make my face shiny. I used it mid day over my makeup for over a week. I used about 4-6 spritz each time. First thing I noticed when I used the spray was the smell. It had musty smell that was not pleasant. It went away quickly. I had dewy face after initial spray. It also went away quickly. It felt light weight and it did not make my face shiny. I have not notice any difference in my skin using the spray. Maybe overtime I might be able to. I would purchase the product if not for the smell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and easy application So after receiving this product I quickly washed my face with a somewhat drying antibacterial bar of soap to test the moisturizering ability of this product. So I spritzed a hefty amount of the solution on to my clean face and let it dry. While it dried I squirted a few spays on to my fingers and I could certainly tell that it did contain a light moisturizer. After letting the product dry it felt very light and my face was less tight from the effects of the harsh soap I used. I've heard a few people complain about the smell but it did not bother me at all. You can simply tell the there is no added fragrance and it basically had almost a cosmetic scent. Now to give you some background on my skin type, I do have a bit of a T-zone that can get quite oily throughout the day especially with heavy makeup. Also, I use a fairly expensive face crème that can be a bit too oily when I apply full coverage makeup. Knowing this I did apply just the SK-II spray before a full coverage makeup routine and I do believe that it kept my face powder in place longer where with my regular moisturizer would of had my makeup sloughing by then. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Refreshes Your Skin But Not Much Else Having dry skin I was excited to try SK-II Mid-Day Essence. The product claims to hydrate your skin and maintain your skin's morning look. The product comes packaged in a frosted plastic bottle with a spray top. The spray itself is a unique super fine mist and has a clean and natural scent. I used this in the morning before I put on my make up. I love the fact that I can spray this on instead of rubbing it into my skin. When first applied it made my skin feel completed refreshed and clean. I also love the fact that you can use it over your make up and it doesn't ruin it. I used it several times in the middle of the day and my skin once again felt refreshed. One of the things I disliked about the product is that I had to spray it several times to cover my whole face. I feel like the bottle will not last very long. I was hoping that this product would moisturize my skin as well as refresh it. I was disappointed to find that while it made my skin feel fresh and clean it did not moisturize it like I had hoped. If you are looking for a product to make your skin feel fresh and clean then this is the product for you. If you are looking for a moisturizer then I would not recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Initial reaction- eh. Initial reaction- Took a few pumps to get spray working the first time, which isn't too concerning because sometimes that happens with sprays. I think it's foolish to market the product as "mid day essence." My face does not get dry mid day, but rather is usually oily mid day due to the stressors of the day. Instead, I used it after my shower which was first thing in the morning because the hot water tends to make my face feel dry. Therefore, if I saw the product in the store and didn't know what it was, I would probably not even look at it since I don't need a mid day face moistener; they're limiting their potential clientele. I do NOT like the scent at all! Definitely turns me off from the product and makes me hesitant to want to use it again; however, I will continue to give it another chance. Maybe I just have to get used to it. But, I would have liked if it had more of a "fresh" scent instead of a foul smell. I wish the directions said how many sprays to do. Is one spray enough? Should I do more? As of right now I don't think I'd purchase it nor recommend it to a friend, but I am anxious to see if after continued use if my opinion changes.
