Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointing (Size Tall Medium) This coat has very narrow chest--and I wear bra size 34A! The lining is some kind of nylon, including, believe me, the neck area, which is very cold for winter wearing. The sleeves are unbelievably long, almost covering my fingers; keep in mind that I am 6'1"! I also do not understand why all JCP coats now have the closing of the zipper on the wrong side, as male coats have it. Puzzling, to say the least. Very frustrated buyer here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! Super length! Love the length of the coat especially the long sleeves and the knit cuffs! I ALMOST look forward to the next cold spell just to be able to wear it. Runs a bit snug, but nice and long I'm sure it will keep me warm and looks good to. I love the gray color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looong jacket It's a very long jacket. I thought it would reach my knee but actually reaches mid calf. It's has many great features and is very warm. Just for reference, I am 5'11 and 135 lb. Bought a medium size and it fits perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and long! This coat has many great features. The inner cuff stays put and is an actual cuff vs sewn in elastic I found on others. The zipper is a 2 way one for ease of movement. There is a wind flap. The collar is tall enough for warmth when hood is off. There is a quilted outer layer, plus a separate nylon lining. The pockets are not lined in flannel or fleece, which I had seen on others. I have a tall, though I am not too tall, as I have long arms. So far love it, and it seems warm, but we haven't had really cold weather yet. Right now it is too warm to wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely has long sleeves! I am a six footer with long arms, so I truly need a tall sized coat. This coat fits the bill. It is a great length, comes down to about 10 inches above my ankle bone. The sleeves are very long, which I don't mind (it is such a rarity). The general fit is pretty much true to size, though I find it slightly tighter in the chest area than I prefer (but I am a bit "top heavy" figure wise). The next size up would undoubtedly have been too big. It is very light weight but surprisingly warm, we had a very cold windy day last week and I felt fine and even managed to curl my hands into the sleeves for extra warmth. The "original" price for this coat is a little ridiculous, but the sale price makes it worth purchasing. I got the grey coat for a change from black, it is a very pretty blue-ish grey, it was a good choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Coat I ordered this because I needed a longer coat. I was very pleased with the quality, fit, and style. I am 5'11" and it is great - sleeves long enough and coat comes all the way down to mid-calf level. Very happy with the price and fast shipping too (bought it on sale).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR UP NORTH WEATHER This coat fit perfectly and was just what I needed for up North cold weather travel. I also have this coat in camel and will get years of use from them. Good quality and Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very warn coat that fits just right I would recommend this coat to anyone who wants a warm coat that can be worn on any occasion with casual or dressy clothes. The sleeves are long so there's never a gap at the wrist between coat and gloves. It is fitted just enough to creat a waist and not seem boxy. It is a little difficult to zip because it is long and the double zipper pulls have to be held together to get the zipper started.

Is it real 'down'? Or all polyester fill?

Asked by: PROJCPenneysShopper
I believe so - the tag says down and feathers.

Does the coat have a two way separating zipper since coat is so long?

Asked by: Debbie
Yes, there is a two way zipper. I haven't used it yet, but it would be useful if you are doing something more energetic than just walking!

Does this jacket have any inside pockets?

Asked by: kimmiebling
No inside pockets, and actually the outer pockets are very shallow, though luckily they are zippered.

Is this coat water-repellant, wind-resistant?

Is the outer fabric of the Commuter Down Jacket treated in any way (for example, laminated) to make it wind-resistant and water-repellant? Or is the construction simply polyester fabric over down fill?
Asked by: Nicky02114
It seems to be standard polyester. I have worn it on a cold very windy day and I kept warm, but I don't think there would be much protection from rain.
