by anapestic A year later, still great
These are wonderful. They're cozy cotton sweaters in pleasant colors, and they last. I bought about six last winter and wore them almost constantly all season, to find that when I tried one on today it still fits perfectly and is snuggly-warm.
Also, the color stays. I can't guarantee they won't bleed on other clothes a little the first time you wash them (I don't remember), but they stay really vibrant even after a season of wear, which probably means the color is going nowhere in the seasons to come too.
A few tips:
1) Go into the store to try one on. The first one I tried on was a size too small--both physically uncomfortable and a one-way ticket to self-consciousness--but one size up and it was cute and comfortable. It was as if I'd picked up an entirely different brand. If you're going to buy these, at the very least get some recent and accurate measurements and compare them to the chart.
XL fits perfectly on me; I'm 5'5" and bust-waist-hips is 45-39-48, and you can see how long the sweater comes to my hips in my picture. Hope this helps my fellow curvy girls!
2) You can wash them along with other clothes--they aren't picky there--but you'll want to dry them by hanging or laying them flat most of the time. Occasionally run them through the dryer if the fit starts feeling odd (which can happen if you hang them to dry, as they start to stretch lengthwise).
It's best if, when you use the dryer, you hang around when it's about to finish and put your sweater on as soon as you can after it comes out... not because it'll dry better or anything, but because it's really warm and it feels absolutely luxurious. :)

I returned this sweater because I wanted cable knit. Beautiful sweater, but not my type. Couldn't believe the clearance price.

St. John's bay clothing fits me well although when I purchased the two sweaters online I ordered my usual size. For some odd reason they were shipped separately. The deep wine color arrived first, it fit everywhere as it should except for the length ( I wouldn't recommend drying theses weather), and then the turquoise sweat her arrived. It was a little tighter in most places. I did not return them as I really like the sweaters so, I washed them both and stretched them in the places where I needed more room and then laid them out to air dry. This did the trick. They are great for pairing with jeans or you can dress It up with a scarf.

Pleasantly surprised by the lush quality and bouncy texture of this sweater, I bought in several different colors before season's end. Wear layered over tees and tanks on cold days, wear over a cami on warmer days. Dress it up with an infinity scarf or statement necklace. Washes well as directed on label, minimal shrinkage if washed in cold water and line dried. The only catch is, you must try on different sizes in different colors to get a great fit, as some colors run larger/smaller than others (Ivory ran large, Lavender ran small). Otherwise, this sweater quickly became my seasonal favorite for work and play!

Rated 4 out of 5 by WildWay Nice, but too short!
I bought this sweater with the intention of wearing it when I travel to places with a cold climate, but, even though, it is pretty, soft and comfortable, it is way too short in length for me. I am 5'8' and it comes to the top of my hips, so I gave it to my mother who is 5'1" and it fit her beautifully. It was also a bit big on me, I am a Regular Size 4 and big chested and the Small would have been a better fit for me. My mom is Size 8 Petite and the Medium was perfect for her.

Today I am wearing one of these sweaters for the first time since they arrived. It seems much more snug than the photo shows, but I am wearing it over a cotton knit turtleneck.
I bought the Petite Large after reading reviews and am thankful for those reviews.. The sleeves are very slightly long, but are just the way I like them. I hate sleeves that are too short ,or the ones that hang over my hands.
Even though I like to have a loose fit in sweaters (this one has a bouncy stretch to it), it is not too snug, nor so bulky that I cannot wear an additional layer of a vest.
All in all, I think I am going to enjoy wearing these sweaters as an extra layer during cold weather.

Rated 3 out of 5 by webduck Too Darn Short After First Wash
We I received my sweaters (I ordered three in different colors) I tried each on to make sure they fit the way I expected. At the time, they did. I felt confident enough to keep them, and put them in for the first wash. I washed them on warm/cold, and dried them on a low setting. When I put one on to wear the other day I discovered that they had all shrunk in length. I find this totally unacceptable and again, it puts me off from buying clothing from JCP. I can't be sure of this, but it seems to me that manufacturers have been "short shirting" us on clothing for years now. Is it a way to conserve material and cut costs? I would have ordered "tall: if it had been offered. And, no, I have not gained weight.

I love these sweaters and have been buying them for many years. I like the new color selection that is available with each new year, and that the classic colors are always available. The fit is not too baggy or too slim. The length is perfect, halfway down the hip. The cuffs are great as is or folded up a turn to show the cuff of a shirt under the sweater. I gravitate toward the jewel neck, but they offer the V neck as well. The weight is middle of the road which makes it perfect for layering. I have quite a few colors and have to say the color holds well through washing. I turn them inside out to help keep the color. There is minimal fading and I have not experienced pilling. Picked up a green one this year.
