Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing is way off The sizing/stretch on these jeans are so weird. In the store a size 8 regular wouldn't go over my thighs and so I tried on a size 10 regular. I got the medium and dark wash. About an hour after wearing the medium color they had stretched out so bad I could completely pull them off of me without unbuttoning/unzipping them. I tried washing in hot water and running through the dryer, still same problem. The dark tint has no stretch at all and is a perfect size and hasn't stretched out on me. So in the store I tried on a 10 petite and barely would fit me, so I try on a size 12 petite. Perfect! I bought 3 pairs and returned the 10 regular after explaining how bad it stretched. An hour or so after wearing the medium wash in the 12 petite, same problem. So bad I actually had to go home on lunch from work and change because they literally were falling off of me. I will be returning all 3 petites and staying away from St. John's Bay jeans for a very very long time...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jeans, in every way Everything about these jeans is outstanding. The fabric has just the right amount of stretch. The denim color is perfect, as well as the weight of the denim. The "rise" is perfect. Most jeans ride down on me and I am usually pulling them up all day long. These jeans do not do this, they sit perfectly just below the navel. Even the length was perfect. I cannot say enough about the St John's Bay jeans. And if that isn't enough, the price was unbelievable. I will be going back to buy a 2nd pair of the blue denim and treat myself to a black pair. Jeans of this quality and price point are far and few between. I'm going to stock up while I can. This is my first St. John's Bay product. Now that I know the quality, I am anxious to try other St. John's Bay products. Thank you for making clothing for real women!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally a nice fitting jean Finally a nice fitting straight leg jean that will not have my muffin top spilling over! Everything was contained in the jean. I'm 5' 4 and 128 lbs. and wear a size 6 but was able to fit a size 4. The size 6 did fit but decided to get a 4 for a tighter fit because there is some stretch to this jean. The cut on them is nice and they didn't make my butt look flat. The material is soft and the length was perfect. Love that it's straight leg and not a skinny jean. I ended up ordering 3 pair in different colors. Give them a try if you're on the fence

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't need "secretly slender" feature, 'cause the fit is nice -and- allows room for silk long johns when needed! I love jeans with the right length and a comfy straight leg. (I wear petite, am 5"1") These offer both. I needed jeans because I recently lost weight and actually kept it off so none of my previous clothes fit right. I am so used to shopping for the tummy tucking features that when I saw these in the size that fits best now, I scooped them up and tried them on. I don't want them too snug or too loose and these were just what goldilocks ordered ;) If there would have been the same style in smaller, I might have tried those, but realized these might shrink, as has happened before or I might gain a little of that fat back, in which case, the slenderizing feature would be there to save me. These fit in a relaxed way without looking baggy -anywhere-. It turned out that, with the recent cold, I needed a pair of silk long johns for warmth and they fit right underneath with ease. This was due to the comfy style/fit and touch of spandex. With all of those "fashionable" ripped looks, these were a refreshing relief to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great knock-around jeans For my 5'4", 130 lb body, these jeans are really comfortable with just the right fit and the right amount of give. The don't bind and don't stretch out a lot. I have an athletic build (not much difference between waist & hips, smaller thighs and fuller calves). The cut of these jeans is perfect for me. They have a medium rise - not "mom jeans" and not juniors. I'm 60, but enjoy dressing on the funkier side and these work! Roomy belt loops for big belts. I originally bought the rinse color a few weeks ago and just ordered the medium wash. They seem to have less "whiskerering" than the darker wash. Please keep making these jeans!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Regular petite too long; how I fixed them I bought 2 pairs in black, 2 pairs in rinse, and one pair each silver filigree and dark tint in regular petite and all were too long on me yet fit fine through waist and hips. I washed them in hot water with a cold water rinse and dried them in the dryer on the high heat setting. (I did wash and dry the lighter-colored silver filigree pair separately to prevent bleeding.) All 6 pairs fit perfectly in length after washing and drying and still fit on waist and hips. Worked for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the secret slender feature These jeans fit nicely and are good quality. The denim stretches but not too much that they stretch out and get baggy. The waist line is perfect if you want to avoid muffin top. You can also wear regular length tops and sweaters because the waist is higher. I sometimes have to go up a size in this brand to get a good fit. This time the right size fit perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected I've never bought a pair of St. John's Bay jeans so I was a little leary, honestly I love these jeans! They are true to size and I love the length. A lot of times jeans come to the top of my shoes but these are the perfect length without dragging the ground. I also like the material. It's not easy to find a pair of jeans with the quality of material they used to be made with but these come real close. I would definitely buy them again.

Answer:
I've worn size 4 Petite of these jeans for years, but the lengths have changed this year (2016). Size 4 Petite now has about 30" inseam (older jeans were 28" - perfect for me). Tried size 4 Petite Short, and they have 27" inseam -- too short for me.

I wear a 12 and was wondering what is the length on the average length and the tall length. I'm tall, but apparently not tall enough. It seems that so many of the tall lengths are just too long and the average are just a bit too short.

Answer:
I wear the dark rinse blue denims. The tag does state: 'Our dark-rinse denim gets it distinctive colors from a special dye process. This process will wear off over time. To avoid any complications, wash your new jeans insideout and separately before wearing them for the first time.'

I have never done this and so I have had some dark blue rub off on my underpants worn underneath but it has always rinsed out when they were washed. I have worn these for years and never had any problem with noticeable fading or problems with fading colors in one area over the rest of the jeans.
