Rated 4 out of 5 by Need Sizing Chart on Product Page - See Attached Image I ordered these briefs for my husband & took a guess on the sizing, since the waist measurement was not posted. Unfortunately I guessed wrong & had to return the ones I ordered. But lo & behold - the packaging has the sizing! Please see the photo I attached for the waist range for each size. It should be on the product page. Other than that the briefs are nice & soft. We got the next larger size. October 31, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Fit Going to the current sizing system of small, medium, and large where each category includes a range or actual sizes is certainly going to work for a lot of people. But, there is also a large segment of people that are not satisfied with these briefs because they are either too loose or too tight. These briefs should manufactured in exact sizes like their all-cotton brothers. As it turns out the cotton/polyester blend makes a much better brief than an all-cotton brief because all-cotton briefs absorb and hold moisture while the cotton/polyester brief helps wick moisture away from the body. That's why I prefer the blend. But, unfortunately, I will not wear this product because of poor fit. I'll probably have to keep my vintage briefs a few more years until Penney's figures out they need to fix the sizing problem and also learns how to properly market this product. Heck, as a properly fitting blend these briefs would be a great all-around brand of underwear for most athletes (such as me). March 17, 2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not very comfortable I have purchased Stafford briefs in the past. Actually preferred them over other brands. The latest purchase though has a flaw that makes them rather uncomfortable. The elastic does not lay flat against my body. When I move around the elastic folds over. It's a constant battle. I straighten it out and it folds back over. Not good, especially when trying to sleep. I bought three packages and will be returning the ones I haven't opened. April 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great way to "break out of the Tighty Whiteys" The quality and fit of the briefs are very good and similar to the usual whites. They wash well and look good time after time. April 28, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Wrong size label These are waaaayyyy to big. I had to return my order because these they were way to big. It wasn't that i ordered the wrong size, it was simply that the label size is completely wrong. If you are ordering a pack make sure to order one or two sizes below. For example I use 44 - i should have ordered a 40. April 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Product oversized - unwearable I wish I had returned the briefs. They are much larger than expected. The waist band fits but the rest of the brief is huge. I am 6 foot/200# and these briefs would fit a 300# man with a huge posterior. The size seems to vary by color within the assortment. I have worn Stafford briefs for many years and have never experienced this problem before. April 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by GREAT PRODUCT Husband is happy with the fit! He wishes they would come in other colors for big and tall. Will probably order more. The only reason I took a point off was because they came in just white for his size. Otherwise I would have given them 5/5. April 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great These fit well and ware well. I golf a lot and these work well for that. Like how they fit higher on the waist. March 23, 2016

Answer:
I would go with a Medium actually. I wear a 36 or 38 in jeans but I find these to run big, especially since they are full cut. If I buy these again soon I may even go for a small as they run a bit bigger than I would like.

My husband wears white, he has worn these briefs most of his adult life and won't wear anything else. He says they don't pinch and crawl up. He gives them 5 stars
