Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Fit Going to the current sizing system of small, medium, and large where each category includes a range or actual sizes is certainly going to work for a lot of people. But, there is also a large segment of people that are not satisfied with these briefs because they are either too loose or too tight. These briefs should manufactured in exact sizes like their all-cotton brothers. As it turns out the cotton/polyester blend makes a much better brief than an all-cotton brief because all-cotton briefs absorb and hold moisture while the cotton/polyester brief helps wick moisture away from the body. That's why I prefer the blend. But, unfortunately, I will not wear this product because of poor fit. I'll probably have to keep my vintage briefs a few more years until Penney's figures out they need to fix the sizing problem and also learns how to properly market this product. Heck, as a properly fitting blend these briefs would be a great all-around brand of underwear for most athletes (such as me).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If this is underwear WHAT HAVE I BEEN WEARING? Alright, I'll be frank. I bought these in store as a joke for my friend. But when I tried them on I was speechless. I was always a boxer guy, always picking wedgies because they ride up in my skinny jeans, but now I don't think I'll wear boxers ever again. I went online and bought 3 packages of these briefs. I sag my pants a little, so when everyone else in class saw them they giggled. They might make a joke, but for anyone my age (17) just laugh with them, and then ask when are they wearing uncomfortable boxers xD. Seriously these feel great, they are made great, and cheap. Just in case this effects your opinion these fit best with slim bodies with little belly, it fits great on me. So anyone who is thinking about laughing about someone like me talking about Tighty Whities go ahead, the comfort is unimaginable and you should convert to these too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice for athletes As a very active guy with an athletic build, I have had a hard time finding comfortable underwear for daily wear. Boxer briefs are binding on my thighs, boxer shorts are out of the question (no support) and most briefs are too skimpy and don't fit well. A body builder friend at the gym recommended JC Penney brand "full cut" briefs so I went to the store to check it out. Had a hard time finding what I was looking for, helpful salesman pointed me to these. Bought two packs since they were on sale, and man am I happy I did. Best underwear I have ever worn, and I understand now why the "full cut" is so important for athletic guys. Very comfortable support, with no binding. And for sports, cotton blend is best....hold their shape better, better sweat wicking than all cotton. I have been able to replace all of my daily wear underwear with these, and I also wear them for sports, since they are so comfortable and supportive...no longer have to buy expensive athletic underwear. It's simplified my laundry and underwear drawer only having one kind. Thanks JCP!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice briefs! The Stafford full-cut briefs have a very wide, supportive pouch that is much more accommodating than any other briefs I've worn, which is nearly all of the brands out there. Most others are too small in the crotch which leads to "fallout" and pinching. These briefs also feature the only useable vertical fly I've ever used (as opposed to Y fronts [useless] or H fronts [great], etc...). This is a huge design flaw in pretty much all other vertical fly briefs. The poly cotton blend is a nicer fabric than the all cotton. The rise/waist is pretty high but the low and medium rise Stafford briefs have about 25% less room in the crotch, so I buy these and deal with them rolling up under my belly or just pull them up above the beltline. I like the striped waistband a lot. These are a great value for the price. I would like the blended fabric briefs to have the numbered waist sizes like the all cotton ones do and maybe a bit of Lycra as well. The rise could be a bit shorter. I have a very long rise and these go above even my waist. The xxl's I bought seem to run a bit large in the waist. It would also be great if a Stafford H-fly was offered someday.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from new style doesn't fit, not the same as older pair I've been buying this brand and size for almost 30 years and at at times drove 50 miles to find a J.C.P. store to get them. The newest briefs appear to be made at a different factory and they fit very poorly. The fly is now smaller and lower and instead of being able to buy by size I now have to buy by size range, ie large = 36 & 38 unlike the previous models which were by size. (I wear a 36). These comments are specifically for the blended briefs. Somewhere along the line quality control went out the window. Just to make sure I put an older pair along side a new pair and the difference is appearant and not just my imagination. I'm now looking for another blended brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from better than everything else i happened upon these wonderful briefs by chance and am glad i didnt pass them up. i had worn both boxers and briefs when i first bought these and when i put these on for the first time i was hooked. my boxers and lesser briefs soon disappeared and these were all i wore. they are super soft and fit perfectly. ive bought them more than a few times with the multiple name changes and they have remained the same superb quality, with my original towncraft ones still in regular rotation. while i now have an assortment of other brands (more expensive, larger name brands) of briefs these are my defaults and all others take the backseat. since i bought these ive converted 100% to briefs because of their perfect fit and great look. i dont think i could go for an extended period without these briefs. simply nothing else really compares to these spectacular briefs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need Sizing Chart on Product Page - See Attached Image I ordered these briefs for my husband & took a guess on the sizing, since the waist measurement was not posted. Unfortunately I guessed wrong & had to return the ones I ordered. But lo & behold - the packaging has the sizing! Please see the photo I attached for the waist range for each size. It should be on the product page. Other than that the briefs are nice & soft. We got the next larger size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what they used to be I am in my 50's and have been wearing JCP underwear since I was a kid. I can still hear my mom telling to buy good underwear. I know nothing is made in the USA anymore but even last year's briefs were made in Canada. My recent purchase was made in Honduras and are significantly lighter. The band is very thin and quality just seems to be a thing of the past. I will start looking for a place to buy quality products. Sadly, that used to be JCP.

Any feedback from customers on the new Blended Colored Briefs? Good, Bad, indifferent?

Asked by: BriefguyPgh
The cloth is soft, but I can't recommend these at all. If you're looking for briefs that offer support, look elsewhere. I've worn boxers that offered more support, or at least containment.

What size would be a 36 inch waist? Large or extra large?

Asked by: Rick
I would go with a Medium actually. I wear a 36 or 38 in jeans but I find these to run big, especially since they are full cut. If I buy these again soon I may even go for a small as they run a bit bigger than I would like.

Are these the same cut and fit as the white blended briefs with the blue and gold stripe?

Asked by: Picky
Not to disagree, but I purchased these while they were on sale, and they are indeed the same.

Is 3x size in briefs the same as a waist 40.

I don't have a nick name, should I create on for myself.
