Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boots for the price Ok so I bought 2 pair of these based on reviews here and other websites. First they are very stylish, second they are an amazing Value. Real leather upper with rubber sole. The leather is nice and the rubber is good for winter wear. The Brown ones have a nice color to them. The black ones are ok. They are black but the leather lacks depth you may find with more expensive shoes but they are still great. And the Price? I got them on sale plus and extra 30% off with a sale code making them an amazing value. They will not last forever but in rotation with other shoes should last a good long time. they are glued so you probably will not be able to replace the sole when they wear out. One warning that you need to know is they run really large. I ordered a half size down and had to return them and go a full size down. do not ignore the fact that they run large or you will have to return them. Over all great Boot for the price. stylish, real leather and great value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sharp looking boots - not full grain leather These boots look great. Nice leather, good detailing. I appreciate the non-slip textured rubber on the sole. A couple of minuses. First, the description says full grain leather, however, the boots upper are actually genuine leather, not full grain. Genuine leather is a lower grade and will not have the same durability. The boots are labelled genuine leather on the box and on the boot, this is a case of the website description being inaccurate. Second nitpick, the "Cognac" color looks more like a standard brown than the picture shows. Even with those couple of issues, I still consider the boots a strong value and a good buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 12M fits my 12EE feet well! As others have commented the boot fits big, but if you have wide feet, they fit about right. I got them on sale with a $10 off coupon, so they were a steal! Not sure I would pay full price for them, but with the discount I think it's worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dress boots, especially for the price I will pretty much echo the first two reviewers. Good looking, comfortable dress boots. The leather looks and feels like a more expensive boot. I have no idea how long they will last, but they seem pretty well made. For the price, especially at a typical discount, you can't beat these. I agree that the throat (upper part of the vamp, where the laces pull the two sides of the shoe together) is a little on the large side. If you like your boot to fit snugly at the top, where it ties, that's not going to happen, unless you have pretty thick ankles. Not a huge deal since the top part of the boot is typically covered up, but something to consider. Also, for me, a half-size down from my usual dress shoe size fit the best. I normally wear a 9 1/2 in an Allen Edmonds, and the Deacon in 9 fits me the best. All in all, I highly recommend the Deacon if you are looking for a sharp, comfortable, affordable dress boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Make sure your copy is MIB This boot is awesome for its price, I've gotten loads of complements. The quality of leather is definitely not as good as the Allen Edmond Daltons, but they are comparable to Cole Haan and better than Aldo in my opinion. Given their price, they definitely are a great value buy for occasional boot wearers. Make sure you get the Made in Bangladesh copy and not the India copy. The quality difference is night and day. The boot also runs about 1 full size larger than my athletic sneaker size, so make sure you size down appropriately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good value I purchased the deacon based on its looks, the feel of the materials used and its fit. First off, the leather used is very soft and makes a very good impression for the price. The shoes are quite comfortable out of the box, the foot bed is cushioned and soft. It is cushioned with synthetic materials which might not naturally shape to the foot as a cork bed would do, but at this price that is perfectly fine. The boots are glued, not welted. The welt stitching is faux, but again, that is good for winter/fall.The shoes are not fully lined with leather. If you generally don't get sweaty feet, this is not an issue. Ninety percent of wingtip boots will have a leather sole. The deacon has a rubber sole. The rubber sole is a big plus, since this boot will be worn primarily in the fall and winter. Road salt and wetness can be very hard on leather soles. I would describe the fit as "generous." I am usually a 13 and the 13 was a tad too roomy, and creased in the wrong spots. The 12 is more snug but still very comfortable. I can wear dress and wool socks without problems. Can easily go from jeans to suit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoking deal! These shoes are comparable in look to shoes costing two or three times as much. The broguing is gorgeous, the leather looks good, and they are comfortable. I ordered a half-size small, and at first I thought that might be a mistake, but after I wore them for fifteen minutes they conformed to my feet and now they feel great!

Are the insoles removable?

I'm a fan of aftermarket insoles, make shoes/boots so much more comfortable but it seems like many sew the insole now so they can't be removed. Anyone have experience with this? Thank you
Asked by: thedude
The insoles can be removed, but require a bit more effort and cleanup. The foam under the leather insole top is glued to the sole and tore when I removed them. Not a big problem, but it requires scraping out the remaining foam, and the original insoles will not be reusable.

Are the ones you are selling now made in India or Bangladesh?

How can I be sure that the ones I am ordering will be made in Bangladesh only? and not made in India?
Asked by: S500
I just ordered (Feb 2017) and I received the "made in Bangladesh" version. I haven't seen the "made in India" version, but I am very happy with the ones I received.
