Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the shirt it used to be... I am a long-time fan of Stafford dress shirts and own any number of them, in addition to dress shirts of other brands costing much more. The white Stafford fitted dress shirts used to be my favorite go-to daily office shirt. Unfortunately, it appears that someone decided that it was time to “re-think” the fit of this shirt and I did not know that until after I bought additional Stafford fitted shirts for my wardrobe. By way of example, the neck of the new design is big enough for me to easily stick in two fingers-plus. The sleeves and shoulders of the shirts now feel like they were designed for Gumby; that is, if you have any muscles or shoulders, forget this shirt as an option, as it will appear as if someone has spray-painted you. The fabric is still good and these shirts still wash up great. But, the new cut and fit of these shirts has placed these in a category where they are some of the shirts I like the least. Off to goodwill they go. Sorry, J.C. Penney, you just lost me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Disappointed I always buy this brand for my attorney husband and have loved the look and ease of care. I read the reviews before I ordered and knew some people were not happy with the quality of the fabric, but my experience was that they were very nice shirts. I should have trusted what they said, because they definitely are not easy-care any more. The quality of the fabric is just awful. They are stiff and, even after pressing them, they still have wrinkles and are just a mess! I'm so disappointed and will be finding somewhere else to buy his shirts from now on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded My Expectation This is my first time shopping with JCP. I got the blooming blue color and fitted size. The color is great in person (ordered online). It feels true to size. Quality is better than some designer brands I had before for about half the price. I will buy again and recommend it to my friends.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely thin material I ordered 4 of these shirts, in fitted size first, then regular, with my collar and sleeve measurements. I returned the fitted shirts just based on their being way too small for me in cut. I am built trim and am athletic, but do not have a body builder physique. Even so they were way too small, maybe for someone 130 rather than my 160 pounds. The collar and sleeves were dead on in length though. I then ordered in regular fit and the fit was very good. However, for both fits, the material is so thin that you can see your skin through it and the collar of a v neck t-shirt stands out like a neon sign. This was true for both fitted and regular versions. I have a Stafford super shirt which is maybe 3 years old. It is in excellent condition still and the material is not sheer like these. I will order another 2-3 of the super shirts and avoid these cheaper ones - the material is so thin they are not really worth even a very low price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Super Shirt Not So Super Anymore My husband has closet full of many colors of the Stafford Super Shirt (cotton/poly blend) as he has to wear dress shirts every day to work. We have always bought these shirts from Penneys for years. Recently, we went into the store and purchased several more shirts (Stafford Essentials...there are no more Staffaord Super shirts) for my husbands overseas business trip. When we got them out of the package and laundered them, my husband comes to me saying that the fabric of these shirts are THINNER than his other shirts. We compared them and he is right. They definitely DO NO FEEL THE SAME! These shirts are so thin....you can see through them. You hear in the news how bad JC Penney is doing but when you are cutting back on QUALITY, what do you expect? I used to buy many things from JC Penney, but have stopped because I do not feel that I am getting the quality I once did. Do you think customers don't notice?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Fit!!! The Stafford fitted shirts *used* to fit great. I still have the same fitted 15.5, 32/33 Stafford shirts I bought 2 years ago and they still fit great and would love to buy new shirts. I am not sure if they changed manufacturers or dimensions during the last 2 years or what, but now when I go to JCP to try on the exact same model of Stafford fitted shirt 15.5, 32/33. I can barely fit into them and I am not that big. You cannot bend your arms, too tight in the chest, very tight on the wrists, too loose around the stomach. Unless you are shaped like a pear with toothpicks for arms, I would *not* buy this shirt. Please JCP, go back to the original fit!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stafford shirts USED to be great. I recently ordered a replacement Stafford shirt (same size, color, etc.) for one that was starting to wear out. The new shirt is NOTHING like the original one. I had read other reviews about how the new Stafford shirts don't fit well anymore. I thought maybe they were written by funny-shaped people. Well, apparently I'm a funny-shaped person also. (It fits OK as long as I don't move my arms.) According to the label, it's the same "Easy-Care" 55% cotton/45% polyester blend as the original; however the new one has a sort of permanent-wrinkle quality to it instead of permanent-press like the original. (Yes, I took it out of the dryer right away, as always.) Of course, it was also more expensive than the original. But I knew that when I ordered it. (It would have still been worth it if it had been the same product as I had bought before.)

Is the white shirt see through?

I know with many shirts the white can be almost see through because they are light.

Is the broadcloth a thin material? I saw it described as dense. Does it breathe well?

Asked by: SHIRLEY
The shirt is not advertised as "wrinkle free", but my Stafford brand shirts look fine coming out of the dryer. However, you can't compare the appearance of shirt taken out of a dryer with a shirt that was pressed at your local dry cleaners. The pressed, or ironed shirt will always look better, but this shirt look pretty good coming out of the dryer. Hope this answers your question.

Does this shirt come with the top button that has the give to it?

Asked by: Rodd
No, the top button is pretty stationary. No elastic on it. That was the Stafford Super Shirt that had the top button with give in it. I don't think they make those anymore.

Size Fitted

Is fitted the same as slim fit? or pretty close? I don't see any measurements on the description so i can't compare to other brands that are slim fit.
Asked by: pugcadi
Yes, fitted is just another word describing trim fit.
