Misses are bigger length than petites, that is what changes the length for what I have experienced. For your size because I am about the same tall as you just very few inches taller, you can do your size 6 on this jeans brand and style and it'll fit perfectly fine I will dare to say. Because I am an 8 and I ordered on 29 Misses, which is an 8 and it fitted fine because this are Ankle Jeans it fitted as regular length jeans for short people if order in Misses, which is what I wanted and what I was looking for. Because the Petites didn't have this color nor a Royal blue I wanted that I also have. If you want them Ankle then do Petite or Petite short depending how long you want them on you or you can roll them up too. Right now this are lose on me because I got an exercise challenge fitness program and apparently either lost weight or inches. But I do not like tight clothes on me anyways because I like to be comfortable. Petite short are for shorter people I will say. Never seen that though. Just Misses and Petites or Regular Short cut those fit count as Petite in length. Hope it helps. :)
