by nathanvmc Great product, MFG support could be better.
I ordered this to replace an old mixed we had inherited from my wife's Grandmother that was 30+ years olds. The products shipped fast and was mostly as expected but the chrome finish on one of the beaters was flaking off. When I called Sunbeam for help they seemed happy to help and ship new ones but was out of stock and could not backorder. I asked what other options I had and they said I could call back in 4 weeks and see if they had them in stock. Called JCP and they are willing to return it, I guess I will have to return the entire product and wait for another to ship, seems silly.

I make a lot of cakes and cookies, often with very heavy dough. My new mixer is doing very well. Plus I never buy any brand but Sunbeam. I have had several and go back to that brand every time I need a new one. I am very pleased and would recommend this product to everyone who loves to bake.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Beee33 this product is a poor quality electric mixer-very disappointing-do not buy!
I bought this to replace my old Sunbeam mixer which was fantastic. This updated model is a cheap imitation of an older, reliable model. This model has super heavy glass bowls which become even heavier when filled with dough. The mixing blades are flimsy and do not touch the bottom of the bowl so the mixing is not even and at the end I have to hand mix everything to get it properly combined. The motor is not strong and sounds like it is seizing when ingredients are added and mixed. It makes a strange uneven sound like it's getting ready to conk out. This machine is not worth the price I paid and I recommend that you do not buy it.

I have had this mixer awhile now. It looks cheap to me, I wish they would make this one out of metal and in colors with the glass bowls. I also have the pink heritage which is gorgeous, but recently, making a hard to make cookie dough, the pink heritage wouldn't mix it and I have no idea why. I got this one out and it mixed it right up. what the difference is I have no idea but this is my new favorite one. I don't like the plastic but it works like a charm. I don't understand the bad reviews unless people are not familiar with this type of mixer.

I just received one of these mixers today, and when I opened the box to unpack it, I thought, "Wow! As heavy as this box is, the mixer must be sturdily made." Then I discovered that the entire body of the mixer stand is nothing but hollow plastic! The "heavy" part is the glass bowl, which is real-ly heavy. Although I prefer glass to aluminum because matter doesn't stick to glass quite as much as to the aluminum, I can already appreciate another purchaser's comments about how difficult it is going to be to hold onto the bowl and empty the contents. My "old" Sunbeam glass bowl finally cracked after about 40 years, and I thought it was heavy, but this new one is heavier still. I'll reserve comments about performance for the time being. At this point I am simply disappointed they chose to replace metal for plastic in the construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grams9 The glass bowl allows you to make sure everything is mixed properly.
I love the glass bowl and the way you can shift the bowl for ease of adding ingredients. It also makes it easier for scraping the bowl. Also, I store my mixer inside a cabinet and the Sunbeam is not as heavy as others I have owned. I bake several times a week and it's easy to clean. I also purchased one for my son because I liked it so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lov2bake I'm very satisfied with my purchase and the price.
My only problem with the mixer is that it is for a right-handed person and I am left-handed. It was a little cumbersome trying to add ingredients and mix with my right hand. Other than that, it's a great buy for the price.
