Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best purchase! We are a busy household of soon to be 5 and 2 dogs.I work a lot of hours and my wife is always busy running the kids around and taking care of other things. Neither one of us like to take the time to vacuum our 2500 sqft house and it doesn't get done as often as it should. With my wife being pregnant lately and not being able to use our big Dyson(which is a great vacuum) and me being busy we just got fed up with the floor being disgusting all the time. So I made the decision to buy a Roomba 880 and couldn't be happier. The floors have been cleaner then they have ever been in our 7 years of marriage. With the kids always playing on the floor it feels great to know that it is always clean now. And it picks up dust and dander out of the carpet that I didn't know was there and the Dyson never picked up. The lighthouses that come with it are great because depending on the house you can have it clean several rooms at a time. I highly recommend this product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Schedule resets after it dies. we owned Roomba 880 for a little over a year. We had problems with this model from the first week of having it. It started to hit the wall over and over again, we contacted irobot and they replaced it. the new one they sent us rarely makes it back on charge and dies in the middle of the room somewhere. When the roomba dies the clock on the roomba gets reset to NOON. This makes roomba go off in the middle of the night instead of the actual scheduled time. We owned a older model in the past and it didn't have this many issues. Very unsatisfied and afraid to buy any more products from Irobot. I feel like their models are only getting worse the more technology they add to it. My roomba is now out of warranty so I'm stuck with this malfunctioning robot in my house.

I got the product because I truly loathe sweeping my hardwood floors more than a handful of times a month. However, my sheddding Golden Retriever makes it necessary to do so. I thought I'd try out the 880 because of the self cleaning brushes, it didn't dissapoint. It requires a little more maintenance than I would like, I have to clean the dog hair out of the brushes after every couple of uses, but it only takes a minute. The bin is extremely easy to empty. It cant replace a good thorough sweeping, but it does seem to make it so I only need to sweep and mop once (or so) a month. I also have noticed that since I got my roomba, dust seems to accumulate less on all of my furniture, which is great for my allergies. The filter on the roomba combined with the constant vacuuming seems to be the reason for this. The price is a little expensive, but in my opinion, well worth the added convenience, for people like myself who hate sweepinp/vacuuming.

I cannot tell you how much this has come in handy, when I want the house to look and feel clean for the grandchildren and for visitors, especially at the last minute. I do as much of the other cleaning and straightening that I can, while roomba takes on the floors! I will admit that there is definitely a learning curve and a little prep work before starting roomba. The first few times, I watched it constantly, partly bc it was fascinating and partly bc I had to figure out where it would get stuck and which wire it would try to eat. After that, I would rearrange things quickly and I had no more surprises. Now, I am happy to say that I just bought my 2nd robot - the bravaa 380t in order to make those floors shine after roomba cleans them. Can't wait to get it. Enjoy your robots and give them a chance before you hurt their feelings. They are such fun to watch too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hummmm The 880 definitely gets the job done. But it does not live up to expectations because I have found it produces a definite low volume, high intensity hum once it is fully charged (i.e., most of the time). I can not sleep with Roomba in the same room or the next room unless the door is closed. Likewise for reading. Even a distraction while working on the computer. So that exhausts where I can put it in my residence, if I hope to have it dock automatically which is a feature central to its design. The instructions suggest that the Roomba be at a plugged in charging/docking station at all times when not in use. This means it is continuously emitting a hum when not in use, since it re-charges quickly. I have asked Roomba for a replacement docking/charging station in hopes that would fix the problem. It did not, although Roomba was very cooperative in making an exchange. With the unit price as high as it is, this hum has to be considered a defect which of course is not disclosed. Buy at your own risk.
